Filler episodes are made on purpose, perfect time for characters development, new characters introduction, explanations,…
I disagree. Filler episodes is for dragging it to the traditional 16 episodes length.
And by definition, there is very little story progression in filler episodes. Everything new in Ep 9 can probably be done in 10 min. No we don’t need filler episodes at all. Only the TV stations demand it for ads.
My name is Woo Yong Woo, whether it is read straight or flipped... Kayak, deed, rotator, noon, racecar, Woo Yong…
Actually, this is one part which is "lost in translation". Korean Palindrome is phonetic Palindrome, and it is quite different from the subtitle's use of normal english Palindrome which is a spelling Palindrome and doesn't really make sense and doesn't have the same impact.
I am not sure if they could have done any better as there is no english equivalent. Woo-Young-Woo, same when said backwards. Words like "To-ma-to" and "To-ron-to" is closer but there is no palindromes based on syllables rather than spelling. OTOH, it is much easier for Chinese translation and subtitles.
Yes, Extraordinary Attorney Woo is very good. Its ratings in Korea has jumped from 0.9 for Ep 1 to 5.2 for Ep 4. I think this is the highest jump ever within 4 episodes. And this is now the highest rated drama for the still new ENA channel.
Both Alchemy of Souls and Extraordinary Attorney Woo made it to Netflix Top 10 overall (including English) in Australia and Canada. Impressive for K-dramas with only subtitles but no English Dub (as compared with K dramas with english dub like Squid Game .) And both are among the best in 2022.

He survives and will help the hero to fight the new vilain in season 2. Predictable.
No, it's not. What makes this drama interesting and different is how he made use of the knowledge from his previous life to change fate in his current life and gain upper hand on the villain. There is no way he could have beaten the villain by being a normal crime fighting prosecutor.
There were so much flashback. So it’s more looking back rather than moving forward.
They obviously have feelings for each other.
I think you have way over analyzed things!

This has to be the most boring episode so far.
So yes, it’s a filler episode, all talk no action.
If everything has been revealed already, what's left for the next 10 episodes? :)
