No, I do not agree with you at all. I think you missed the point. The initial break up was not because of misunderstanding or hate. It was Yeon Soo's unfortunate circumstances, her ego, and her immature hasty decision that love and romance needed to take a back seat to real life concern. Choi Woong was initially mad at Yeon Soo because he did not understand the reason why YS left, even then, at heart, the two never stopped loving each other.
So nothing NEEDED to happen for them to get back together. The only thing was for them to realize and admit their real love for each other, and that's what happened.
I also disagree that the drama only showed Choi Woong's POV, in fact, it did spend a lot of times from YS's POV. The repeated break-up scenes were all from YS's POV. I don't feel that the story wants us to "pity" him; and where's that "selfish" character coming from? I don't see that at all. His character was portrayed in a similar fashion from high school till he became successful. YS did not tell him the underlying reason on purpose, then how can Woong sympathize with YS when he did not know the real reason? YS never wanted anyone to know how poor she was, including Choi Woong.
The filming was already done. They finished filming in April 2021, But at this point, there is still no word on the actual release date. I personally believe the pandemic may have something to do with it. Even though KDM is this movie, she is not the the main FL in the second part.

A trivia if you like NJ. The OST special album has a short song "Island" sung by "NJ". I don't believe this OST song was used in the drama or maybe I missed it. Not sure why the song is there, and why the in drama character name was used. Maybe the planned scene did not make to the final edit. Anyways, that's something you can check out and enjoy.

Can't disagree with you more. KDM is a very good young actress. Loved all her works so far - and all her roles have been very different. And she won TONS of new comer awards in The Witch a few years. She was great.

To be honest, I can't think of any new movies or new drama with such an innovative concept that has never been done before in history. Using an old concept is fine, it's how you inject new ideas and how you make the concept works and engage the audience.
Whether you like it or not, Squid Game is projected to be the biggest hit EVER for Netflix worldwide, surpassing everything from any country.
I think the Logan Lee part at the concert would have been much better if they had better planning and make two versions identical from Rona’s perspective like 6th Sense. Right now, the first and second versions are totally different, the settings, the bouquet, etc. Most important, Rona’s dialogue was totally different - so it was meant to mislead the audience.
