Omg, after watching 10 episodes, I just (finally) realized what she means in her introduction when she says, "Kayak,…
No, this is just a case of failed translation which does not make sense in English. Her name is a Palindrome, but Korean Palindrome is a phonetic Palindrome. So Woo-Young-Woo sounds the same when saying forward and backward. Or when you write 우영우 forward and backward.
For the subtitles, they used English Palindrome - which is a spelling Palindrome. Even though it writes the same forward and backward, it does NOT sound the same saying forwad and backward. So it does not make sense at all. A better translation would be like "To-ma-to", "To-ron-to" which would be closer to the Korean, but it does not write the same forward and backward and there is no such Palindrome for English.
Jung So Min. They are so lucky she joined the cast. She's terrific.
Yeah, although I feel bad for Park Hye-soo, who was originally casted and reportedly "fired" after the filming has started, I don't think PHS has the acting skill to pull it off. And it was a huge setback for a new actress and not sure if she can ever recover from this. Regardless, JSM is much better suited for this role.
Haha same. I just watch there remaining episodes on illegal websites. It sucks but it's better for me than waiting…
Not quite the same :) Using VPN with Netflix is perfectly legal, and you are still using the official Netflix streaming service. I still prefer the official Netflix stream because I use non-English subtitles.
This is indeed a milestone for PEB. For sure she is an established talented actress. But Netflix has introduced…
Well, not many people watched it. King's Affection never made it to the top 10 streaming list. By contrast, Extraordinary Attorney Woo is a bona fide blockbuster hit world wide. Last week, it had 45 million hours views globally, only behind Stranger Things and Resident Evil. Number 1 for non English TV shows, Number 3 for combined English+ non-English TV shows. I can foresee that this number would go even higher in coming weeks.
Why are there so many filler scenes in this drama? The story has become very 2-dimensional and draggy (Incoming…
Yeah, it's shocking how fans here defend the filler scenes and episodes. But if a drama wants to achieve high ratings, it must cater to all audience, not just the fans. The fans would be happy just with their favourite characters showing up on the screen. On the other hand, if there is no story progression, and an action drama with no action, many people would lose interest. At least the last episode was much better. But I feel that the ratings and Netflix streaming would be much higher if they cut out those filler scenes. This drama has so much potential.
Unfortunately, on my social media (not necessarily here), people are lauding Park Eun Bin for her role (and rightly…
This is indeed a milestone for PEB. For sure she is an established talented actress. But Netflix has introduced her to millions of world wide audience who have not heard of her before or seen her in child actress roles. And this role will also bring her many awards this year. Regardless, this is a major turning point in her acting career.
As a Korean living in Korea, most of your opinions are wrong.1. This is not a Netflix drama. The drama was funded…
@ACB do you actually live in Korea? As your info is not very up to date. Tattooing is not illegal in Korea - but only medical doctors can perform tattooing. Abortion has been decriminalized since 2021. Same sex marriage is not illegal - just that it is not yet legally recognized in South Korea - and it's a big difference, if it were illegal, it means you have committed a crime.
Now you have Disney+ K-dramas that are not on Viki or Netflix.

It's currently #4. Move to Heaven ranked one above at #3.
Though I can't find which is #1 and #2.
Regardless, JSM is much better suited for this role.
And 10 more for Part 2.
So 20 more to go :)

This unfortunately got cut from the episode as it didn't fit the tone of the ending, but it explains further about their "connection".
I think I would fall in love in Woo Young Woo the moment I see her :)
And so many not on the list - IU? Go Min Si? Park Eun Bin? Lee Hye Ri?
Or change it after each episode if you want.
