On the contrary, I hate forcing a “backstory” onto every character.
Hate those “they met when they were a kid” moments.
I am still skeptical about a S2. I won’t put my bet on one.

It is the 3rd highest hours viewed kdrama in Netflix ever.
And the highest one without a English dub on release.

The ratings here does not matter at all.
The real TV ratings and viewership stats around the world are the one that count.

ENA is new, that’s why Ep 1 only had 0.9% ratings.
Jumping 17x from 1st to highest ratings is unprecedented for any drama ever.

But this is not what this drama is about though.
I don’t find the cases boring at all.
Are you expecting murders, violent crimes etc? If you want investigative lawyers, chasing suspects etc, then this won’t be the drama you want.

I love how it was done.
I personally don’t feel any weak episodes at all. Very enjoyable to watch from 1st to last.
I prefer this than trying to force mother daughter back together or what not.

I still have my doubts if S2 will ever happen. We only have the CEO and maybe the script writer verbally agreeing. No other production staff or the cast are on board.

For me, it is a masterpiece.

The amount of comments about ML here is absurd. This is not a primarily romance story. It is all about WYW’s experience as an autistic person in a law firm.

Not necessary. There are simple folks with normal lives, and his intention and love is pure with no ulterior motives, or shaped by previous trauma or guilt.

Fortunately, most Netflix viewers disagree with you. The viewerships continue to rise week after week, achieving its highest in Ep 13 and 14 so far.
This again illustrates that the comments here do not reflect the opinions of most public audience.
Sure, if you don't enjoy it, by all means, stop watching it.
But I do enjoy every episode, as with tens of millions of viewers around the world.

S1 was done before they considered having S2.
So no, I don't believe that there will be an open ending.
And we don't even know if S2 will happen or not.
We only have the CEO pushing the idea, and none of the cast and production team have signed on yet!

Don't understand why everyone needs a background story?
Do you have a background story?

You can only get exposure when people are watching the show.
You can have a 100% autistic lives documentary and how many hours view can you get?
EAW has had 326 million hours views in Netflix as of Episode 14, and generates tons of talks in various platforms (and we haven't even counted domestic viewerships in Korean cable channel) - you can't get much more exposure than this.
