I wasn’t able to finish this drama, it is not really that good :c and I felt the second lead was better than the ML, starting how he treated the fl, I mean, he always was grabbing her by the neck and let’s not talk about the way he kissed her… sigh. And the most sad thing is that girls in the comments were excited about that. Maybe I’m too old for this drama that is why I wasn’t able to enjoyed it? But I need to say that the FL was the best part of this drama, she is really refreshing!

What a beautiful drama… the acting, the writing, the soundtrack, everything is beautiful. I wish more people knew about this drama, the first episodes are slow but then the last episodes are really interesting and very emotional

I really liked hospital playlist, both seasons! I wish we had some scenes that were left for us to imagine them and to be honest I’m not a fan of that but I still like this drama and I liked all the characters. This is where another good drama ends…

well this is a melodrama which means FL suffers a lot, however I deeply love this drama because the acting is amazing and I liked the story between the leads, if you love enemys to lovers you are going to definitely love this because they go from hating each other a lot to love each other A LOT!!!! therefore I would recommed you to give it a try

I don't know if they are the type of drama you were asking but I would recommend you designated survivor and LIVE (2018), they are both well written dramas

not sure about rags to riches, but one drama that comes to my mind where character goes from zero to hero is "Bread, love and dreams" well known as "Kim tak goo" however it is an old drama and not so modern as IC!
Or you can try "Innocent guy"

I come every month to this drama just to see if people are enjoying it as I did!! and I still need to read the book, I hope there is a good soul who can translate it all to English ;;

I’ve been watching dramas for 10 years and I have watched kdramas, jdramas, twdramas and cdramas, but mostly kdramas and I do see how they have changed and the preference westerns have for the dramas close to their culture when I read people saying they love kdramas and like Korean culture but they don’t like historical dramas… However the point you made as “globalization” I actually think is a reflection about how korea is also changing, maybe young people is not really interested in soju but instead they like beer and wine (as it was a point you mentioned in your article) and we see that change with the recent dramas to also appeal the young generation, and not to mention that I believe even if korea has his own culture its been influenced by other cultures by watching how they use so many English words in their daily basis (you should watch new journey to the west where they try to have the artists to not say English words while they are playing and they kept losing) but then again, it is possible the change is also due to the points you said in this article.
I would also like to confirm what you said about jdramas not being so popular, I wish this is an opportunity for people to give a try to jdramas ;;

I wasn't able to finish this... I'm not interested in the story and I wasn't able to like the characters, to be honest I believe this drama wouln't be so famous if it didn't have this cast (this is just a personal opinion) or maybe I didn't like it because I was watching designated survivor, which got me amazed, at the same time and it just made me expect more for this drama. I will try sometime later to finish this to see if I change my mind!

This drama is amazing, period. I’ve been watching dramas for 10 years but it’s been such a long time since I felt so many emotions watching a drama and I believe it is the first time in 5 years that I watched a drama without doing fast forward because I was afraid to miss a good dialogue!!!! I will give you different reasons to watch this drama
-THE ACTING IS AMAZING (well just look at the cast)
-The writing is really good (I have to say I screamed and clapped while watching this) and so it is the ost and cinematography
- every character is smart and even the smallest character brings something to the story ( I love how the women here were so intelligent)
-There are not wasted dialogues or scenes and if you don’t see spoilers you don’t know until the end who is the bad guy (because it keeps surprising you)
- I loved how awkward was the romance and the comedy here hahaha because you know this drama is actually really serious (and yes I love my couple in this drama ;; )

Sigh… there are so many reasons why you should watch this drama… so please let’s try to raise the popularity of designated survivor

I enjoyed this drama!! I tried to watched it before however I wasn’t able to pass first ep, but now I can say is nice drama and characters are really nice! And I love the ending, I remember when this drama was airing there were people upset about the final pairing but I’m actually happy with the ending

I fell in love with him while watching missing you, even though he was the bad guy ;; and I also loved im not robot!
