In Blossom, our Pan Yue, aka LXY, is simply too marvelous for words, like it's so really nice to see him as a great, elegant ML for hopefully many more great years to come.

AGREED: Well, it's called INSTANT GRATIFICATION these days, i.e. millennials are often thirsting for more, spicier hookups, etc., but the underlying love/loyalty connections are far more important, as a CP, beyond mere attraction/flirtation, that is. Passion = fleeting lust = NOT love = often mistaken for love, however temporarily.

Take 2nd couple, for instance, like did he even love her, as he continues to pine over the "new" YCW/JJY?! That hookup was not love, on his part, but hers.

I'm way more convinced of A-Ze & Linger, aka 3rd CP, than that of 2nd couple, like they're more earnest in their flirtation/attraction cuz it's mutually 2-sided & slowly developed from respect into love, like the main couple.

U & I are more convinced of/impressed by Pan Yue's 1-n-only love, aka YCW IS HIS ONE TRUE LOVE, like he shunned the villainous SZ completely, like she was even willing to be his concubine, in throwing away her rich family persona, just to be with him quite desperately, so sadly 1-sided moreover.

It's only when the "new" YCW, in SZ's body, became so glaringly familiar to him that confuses/conflicts him constantly, cuz he felt guilty about being drawn to her [CLOSE TO CHEATING!], esp. with her coroner-like/investigative-deductive behavior, once belonging to his beloved old YCW, unconfirmed till later.

Yup, loving emotions run far deeper than kisses, such as sacrifices, actions, etc.; as longings run far more ragged than consummation; as passions run heavier than mere obsessions, etc. Men like to protect the women they love vs women expect caring/loving attentions from men.

An old American song lyrics often remind me that "IT'S IN HIS KISS!", so it's not about the many kisses, but how he kisses, etc.

EVERYONE'S DIFFERENT: Tis ok to have a different opinions/tastes/beliefs, like personally, I strongly prefer PRINCESS AGENTS over their latest SL, cuz somehow their on-screen romance then was not forced, in going with the flow easily like JJY-YCW & LXY-PY, albeit unhappily with him being stuck at the bottom of the ocean in the end, AND/OR, I just abhor the (outdated/silly) mandated marriage trope in SL, period.

I'm just making a point that SL has nowhere near the substantive mystery romance that IB has overall, but different strokes for different folks, as they kept on trying to compare the two dramas here ad nauseam unnecessarily.

I'm as equally disappointed in SL, as they're disappointed in IB, cuz I gave up on that SL after its 2nd EP, very much like AvenueX, for once...

MAD REVIEW IS IN FOR SHENLI, FYI: For once, I agree wholeheartedly with AvenueX’s critique on SHENLI, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOPhs3SXkpI&ab_channel=AvenueX – [I, too, gave up after 2 EPs!!] -- AvenueX's over-the-top harsh criticisms do have a grain of truth in her brutal assessment that that genre is far too old for its 2 main leads, 100% predictability, so mediocrely done, even the cute CGI chicken's not well made, over-smoothing of 2 main leads, uncombed hair/bad eyeliner of FL, ML's supposed to be a sickling yet looking like a healthy hunk, whining that ML is far too heavy to be in this role, no engaging conversations, etc.

IMO: IN BLOSSOM, on the other hand, being a low budget production blossoming into a major sleeper hit, is as entertaining as its endearing storyline with murder mysteries & slow-burn romance, making it an enjoyable watch overall, albeit with an open-ended cliffhanger ending for a possible closure from a S2. Granted it could use spicier romantic scenes from its 2 main leads, but the 2nd couple provided that instead. Also, the *new* YCW/JJY is much more lively & befitting together with the understated & serious magistrate Pan Yue, than the originally dour-trodden-weary YCW/guest-FL, for she is his driving lifeforce partner, as a curious coroner, to solving crimes together.

MOST RIDICULOUS: yea, they already went over to THOUSAND FRAGRANCES & comment that they're there to see ZHHZ, like what-eva, it'd mean something more significant/monumental had their ZHHZ was more than just another mere guest role, yet again, DUH.

perhaps, they can create a new hashtag for her, like #HELP.ZHHZ.FOR.FL.REAL.SOON?!

Nobody knows, except maybe scriptwriters & Youku, for a possible S2.

That SFL is a mere street urchin, aka Little Liar, who has no fighting skills whatsoever, as she kept following the SML around like some sick unrequited love puppy, whilst knowing that he only had true feelings for YCW/FL, like she's the weakest female character that I can remember, i.e. she was practically useless to SML, as she knows he was prepared to doc the unthinkable, but unable to help him regardless.

In fact, to me anyway, the interaction/chemistry/rapport between A-Ze & Linger, aka 3rd CP, was far better than that bet. SFL & SML, whose ultimate sacrifice was made to rectify/amend his father's sin against the Yang family, as he was in unrequited love with YCW.

The other useless character is SML's father, like he was too blindly/stupidly loyal to his master villain, even after he was attacked/burned alive/living as a crippled fugitive, like he couldn't even help out his own son, like what a terrible father all-around, i.e. no redeeming quality at all. Only good thing about it is SML's a good guy, who knew right from wrong, unlike his wayward, misdirected father. Both father-n-son were both victimized by their own stubborn egos to having their way, or no other way, without any running outside interference from themselves.

💗💗Lastly, for me, it's a female-centric story of YCW, being the only female coroner, aka female M.E. [= med examiner, from Patricia Cornwell's books], faring well (from scarred-familial tragedy to beauty inside/out) beyond its male-centric storyline of its 2 male leads, devoted/smart magistrate & hapless/fated young master of Silver Rain, respectively.💗💗

1) PREACHING TO THE CHOIR: Like that guest-FL/ZHHZ has no banking attraction whatsoever, i.e. if her acting was so damn good, why then did she keep failing to get the FL role, as from her next series, THOUSAND FRAGRANCES, as well?
[Yeah, guess what, she's also @ another guest role @ THOUSAND FRAGRANCES, behind JJY as another FL, D'OH!]

2) NEWSFLASH: The castings in C-dramaland's main focus is who's bankable/JJY vs. who ain't, and that guest-FL/ZHHZ ain't bankable, no matter how better she came across to lots of folks watching/dropping here.
[IMO: I didn't find anything special about her dour performance at all, like I couldn't wait for JJY+LXY interactions on screen after EP 2!]

3) CASE IN POINT: LXY was languishing, as SML, for the longest time, like was it his lame agency and/or just poor castings?! Perhaps, LXY can give ZHHZ some useful advice, hmmm?!

4) WELCOME TO C-DRAMALAND: Scarred/targeted for death = premise of YCW -- resurrected inside SZ -- albeit it's a morally raging superficial skin-deep issue, keeping in-line with beauty sells, plastic surgery surges, body-shaming, idol-bashing & reputation-slamming are all parts of the Chinese cancel culture entertainment that we know & won't be changing anytime soon.

5) Also, JJY is an entertainer, like she may not be a serious actress with typecast roles, but who cares. I, for one, enjoy her light-hearted typecast romance dramas just fine, thank you. I do not need ANY major heavy over-the-top "role-makeover" for JJY to enjoy her performance as an actress. I like her just fine as she is, in costume dramas, especially. I really don't care for serious/morose/dark/unhappy Republican non-costume/modern dramas for her either. BTW: SHE HAS ALREADY STRETCHED WONDERFULLY BEYOND HER RANGE WITH THIS VILLAINOUS SZ ROLE HERE, I.E. PROOF THAT SHE CAN ACT JUST FINE.

5) TAKE A CHILL PILL: Haters will hate; Critics will criticize; so what? So long as she can keep on keeping it on whilst getting ALL her dramas-singing-dancing gigs together, with her loyal fanbase to enjoy/rejoice for many years to come, as they can continue to hate/criticize all they bloody want, like it won't change a damn thing.

yup, he asked himself aloud as to why someone should change so drastically, from villainous to coroner-like, in such a short space of time [3 months], from EP 2 onward as he was rejecting her at arms' length, till he got his confirmation by end of EP 17.

RIGHT: One never knows how old these Asian actors really are, which is a great thing!
