Of course, "incest" romance is not a Chinese "cultural particularity." But it's not incest.
I'm definitely no "know-it-all" expert on Chinese culture. Like the Chinese language, I'm learning about it. But I do know that different cultures have different familial norms.
What I didn't know was that "imperialism" is supposed to be a big word. Good to know, I guess. I definitely won't use it anymore with those who seem to think it is.

I was being sarcastic about the "sickos" part, Einstein.
I haven't even started the drama yet, so I don't feel one way or the other about it. I was just reading the comments to get a quick take for what it's about.
To be honest, I got into C-dramas through Chinese language learning. I'm also interested in Chinese culture in general, which is why I don't particularly appreciate your type of cultural imperialism. I said "type of imperialism," meaning it's not in the literal sense. It's akin to imperialism. Similar, not identical.
Oh, and if you feel uncomfortable watching this, that's your feelings to deal with. Don't project them onto us.

Do you have any original thoughts of your own? Or do you always regurgitate cliched catchphrases ("you do you," "hill to die on," etc.) and buzzwords ("normalized," "tropes," etc.)?
If you haven't seen this drama, how would you even know what type of relationship it portrays or not? Are you psychic or something?
But feel free to make up your own random definition of "incest," and then accuse others of "defending" whatever it is that you randomly made up.
Either you don't have an iota of an idea what "incest" means...or all the MDL members currently watching this drama "defend" it.
I don't doubt that you're sufficiently delusional to assume you're somehow morally superior to the rest of us sickos.
Well, for one thing, TFJ is currently being broadcast on Chinese national TV. (Viki is keeping up with the ongoing…
OK, I was responding to only what you wrote, not what you meant. I was also responding to a very common complaint, which your post seems to suggest. Not to mention, if you don't have Viki, why would it be relevant to your waiting for new episodes to be released? Why bring Viki up at all?
Last but not least, none of what I said was personal. I only used "you" in exactly one rhetorical question. Needless to say, this "you" could be interpreted as the universal (plural) "you." It's only "personal" if you choose to take it that way.
From 2nd ep, i would say the way dialogues were written is so good. The caps part and the way ye li don't just…
Well, for one thing, TFJ is currently being broadcast on Chinese national TV. (Viki is keeping up with the ongoing broadcast schedule.) Should you get preference over the one billion plus domestic audience?
Not to mention, if Viki were to release all the episodes immediately, what interest or incentive would it give anyone to subscribe to Tencent/WeTV (or Disney+) apps & streaming services?
Last but not least, why would any other international OTT platforms ever purchase distribution rights from Tencent (or any other C-ent company) in the future if Viki gives away their proprietary content right away?
This is common (business) sense, but each & every day, some MDL user or other asks the same question about each & every C-drama. The present schedule is what it is for good reason.
I was waiting for this drama because I liked some of the actors, but is it worth watching 40 episodes? I'm hesitant.…
Unless they're trolls, most people in this comments section seem to think so. Are you like most people in this comments section? Most people in this comments section don't know you well enough to answer this question (about whether or not you are like most people in this comments section).

Is cultural imperialism still a thing in the 21st century?
I only wish I had the time to post about dramas I don't watch. Unfortunately, I don't even have enough time to post about dramas I do watch.
That's what "it's a free country" is supposed to mean, I guess.
Happy 250th, Uncle Sam!!
Thanks for the clarification re: Viki.

Controversial ratings drive traffic (clicks & comments) to this site. At the end of the day, it's all about the bottom line for MDL.
Can't we all just get along? 🙂
Hope your exams went well.
This time don't say you already did it.
MDL league tables (ratings) are about as reliable as roulette tables. Where they stop, nobody knows.
Like casino gambling, MDL users can also bet on future events (i.e. rate unreleased episodes.)
