Hahaha Otaro asked her if Hasebe is still alive, and if they're dating. Saiko said "yes" but she meant Hasebe is dating someone from work lol! Otaro was pretty relieved~~
I freaking loved this show! I love it so much! Until the last episode! That did NOT feel like an ending at all.…
If you want the complete ending, definitely watch the final episode of Todome no Parallel~! ;D (Still not subbed in English hopefully you'd get the gist watching it raw.)
For anyone wondering, episode 10 of this and episode 10 of Todome no Parallel are directly connected! I look at both episodes combined as the complete ending of Todome no Kiss~ (Unfortunately Parallel doesn't have English subtitles yet but I still recommend watching at least the final episode after finishing this!)
Are there a lot of tonal similarities between the Reply series and Prison Playbook? I've never been interested…
Yes, I think so~! From the first episode of Prison Playbook, I felt the atmosphere was similar. Although the setting is different, Prison Playbook has the same slice of life atmosphere with doses of comedy and emotion that the Reply series had.
I did things out of order so I saw Reply 1988 before 1997 (and never finished 1994--wasn't my cuppa tea lol) and I think 1988 was the best by far~ I really recommend it!!
"Prison Playbook is the whole package: dynamic and relatable characters, perfectly timed comedy, incredibly heart-felt moments, and great storytelling. " ^ Totally agreed! I'm absolutely loving this drama~
Also, Reply 1988 is one of my favourites so as soon as I realized the same writer-director team was behind this drama, I knew I had to watch--and it doesn't disappoint at all! (It's also been great to see some R88 actors in cameo and supporting roles~)
I'm most excited for Sakamichi no Apollon and Chihayafuru~! Mob Psycho 100 and Funouhan were on my radar, too. I'll probably end up watching at least half the titles on this list haha~ Didn't know about Inuyashiki getting a live-action...! I couldn't stomach the anime but Sato Takeru is usually awesome.
Btw the image to the right of the Inuyashiki manga cover is a photo of two actors who aren't in the cast, as far as I can tell; that's Kohinata Fumiyo and another actor (who I recognize but can't place--agh, where have I seen that kid before? >_<)
Watched this on Netflix and, while it was a great series, absolutely none of the clips in the trailer appeared in any of the episodes lol!! The cast is the same so I'm not sure what that's all about... Is the trailer here from a special that comes later?
Ikr, Hasebe x Saiko would be so strange XD;;
Haha yes, especially with Jdramas which sometimes take ages to get subbed!

(actually Chinese subbed, if you're lucky enough to know how to read Chinese lol)
And yes, it's a happy ending for Saiko and Otaro! ♡
(Unfortunately Parallel doesn't have English subtitles yet but I still recommend watching at least the final episode after finishing this!)

I'll miss Prison Playbook when it's over...!
