Hmm it's like filled with sukina hito ga iru koto... for me I couldn't even go to 3rd ep ,i wonder if…
It does get better but it's not all that great, honestly... I almost dropped the series because I couldn't stand the lead actress and her overacting but, thankfully, she gradually toned it down towards the middle of the series and it became more bearable. Bottom line: there were better dramas last year, even if you only consider the romance category.
Uwaaa this week's episodes were so good! The story really keeps me guessing, and every new development has me questioning all the conclusions and theories I came up with before. It's hard not to want to figure out who did what and as I watch, some of my guesses get confirmed while others end up being completely off haha~ and that's part of the fun!! I'm looking forward to next week.
So glad the storyline has picked up again!! The scene with Deok Hwa/the Deity gave me chills. Absolutely loved it!!
Gotta say, the Grim Reaper is involved in pretty much all the best storylines. His interactions with Sunny and the Goblin, respectively, are really what made this show and now, this! Even having guessed their past identities before the big reveal, it's great to see how everything about him is coming out. I'm so interested to see what will happen next~
This show is getting so repetitive... There's far too much time spent watching Heo Joon Jae lose track of and then chase after Shim Cheong, who may or may not be in danger at any given moment. How about you TELL HER what's going on??
So many situations in this show would be resolved if the characters communicated clearly with one another. Even the comedic aspect of Shi Ah discovering the identity of Joon Jae's mother was short-lived; she knows he's been searching for his mother so keeping that to herself is pretty awful. The reveal was funny at first (since we all saw it coming and knew she'd be kicking herself for acting so horribly before) but I can't even laugh at her acting like a wannabe daughter-in-law because I can't get past the fact that she's delaying a really significant reunion. :/
I was already shaking my head at the beginning of episode 14 during the flashback-by-hypnotic-induction scene because it made no sense for Joon Jae to see Seo Hwa's demise after Dam Ryeong was killed. We're meant to believe he's seeing the events of the past through the eyes of his past self, so he shouldn't be able to see Seo Hwa take her own life after the death of Dam Ryeong. If he had already died (or even just been unconscious, since his eyes were closed) then Dam Ryeong and thus Joon Jae wouldn't have seen anything that happened after his death (or falling unconscious).
I get that this is a fantasy show and we're expected to make some allowances but there are getting to be too many silly occurrences and overused tropes (amnesia, near misses, wicked stepmother, black widow, etc.) for me to overlook.
Kudos to those of you who are still enjoying the show! I want to at least see Joon Jae's reunion with his mother but we'll see if I can stick it out that long lol!
I may be wrong, but I don't think Joo Ri is telling the truth - I don't really like her. Also, I'm…
Yesss, agreed with both of you! Joo Ri's story of seeing Choi Wook Hyuk on the roof with his two friends has already revealed itself to be untrue, since one of the guys talked about how he wasn't actually with him that night at all. If somehow Woo Hyuk and/or his other friend really did cause Seo Woo's death, Joo Ri probably didn't see it firsthand since the details of her story don't pan out. She's such a horrible person!
I do not believe that Choi Woo Hyuk is the culprit - sure he's rude, mean and violent - but I don't…
Totally agree with you about Choi Woo Hyuk, for all the reasons you stated. He takes after his abusive father but I doubt he went so far as to kill someone. (btw didn't they confirm that his grandmother actually was killed in the fire? maybe I'm mistaken...)
Joo Ri's accusation just doesn't ring true in the face of all her antics and hysterics, either. She's revealed herself to be very calculated and self-serving, and her refusal to go directly to the police makes her accusation so much less credible. She's kind of nutty! And she definitely has a grudge against Choi Woo Hyuk (for obvious reasons) so it seems more likely that her aim in writing the letter of accusation was to lash out at him rather than to reveal the true culprit.
Very interesting theory about Han Ji Hoon and his dad! There's definitely a lot of mystery surrounding them, so it's a good theory. I really hope Ji Hoon doesn't have a hand in Seo Woo's death because it seemed like they were really close... Han Kyung Moon seems considerably more sketchy than his son, and his insistence on burying the incident is really unsettling too.
Agh I'm so tempted to watch the Japanese version just to find out who the culprit is lol!
Unfortunately... I don't feel it. The chemistry between Jeon Ji Hyeon and Lee Min Ho is almost non-existing.…
Yay, it's not only me! Thank you for saying this lol~
After episode 13, I realized that I'm not emotionally invested in the lead characters much at all... They have their cute moments on their own and sometimes even together but, like you, I just don't feel much chemistry between them. They're just lukewarm together, and I'm not sure if that's due to the writing, the direction, or the acting... I'm so far through the series that I may as well finish watching it but the main draw now is to see the other plot threads resolved.
Wow, I'm clearly in the minority when it comes to Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo; I love Lee Jun Ki as much as the next person but I had to drop that series after 3 episodes lol! ^^;; And yet there are so many votes for it (and its actors) in most of the categories of this poll... Oh well, to each his own! Although I am pretty sad that Reply 1988, Signal, and Jealousy Incarnate rank so low in comparison. All three have stellar writing and acting!
Just answer me since this will decide if I'll watch this or not "did they insert romance crap here?".
So far, nope! As of episode 2, the focus has been on the mystery, family dynamics/issues, and the mental state of certain students. There are some side characters who talk about crushes etc. but they're like a foil to the serious main characters and story. Two of the students were brought closer by the tragedy and have formed a friendship but if any romantic link is formed between them or anyone else, I have a feeling the mystery will still take precedence!
I'm really liking this so far! I'm not familiar with any of the younger cast members but I'm so far really impressed by their acting. I teared up during the scene with Joon Yeong (Seo Ji Hoon) and his parents, and dramas rarely make me cry! Kim Hyun Soo as Seo Yeon is doing really well too. The first two episodes were great! Can't wait to see more!!
I wasn't too sure how I felt about this series after the first episode, but episode 2 is definitely a step up! Hopefully that's a sign that this will be fairly good overall~ I'm going in with low expectations and my main reason for watching this is to see the acting debut of V/Taehyung anyway haha~ Go Tae Tae!
