the brother’s wife sucks and theres no excuse for her choosing to abandon her child as well. theres no indication that shes kept a active relationship with the little girl as the family doesnt even remember or factor her in (including the daughter herself) after coming to this era.

i find her extreme naivety and delusion very realistic for a princess who has always had things go her way, and i like a character arc where all that blows in her face and she must remake herself informed by those grave mistakes. i enjoy that type of thing.
im only starting ep3 now BUT the resolution of the domestic abuse plot in ep2 was abysmal. the reality is as Peem said, but then the series draws a parallel to the main couple and since we are supposed to root for them that their love should be enough, it makes it seem like the right answer for the domestic abuse couple is that we should believe they love eachother and have a chance to make it work. so i think the messaging/subtext is horrendously irresponsible.
the little princess’s character arc is great. i know we all were frustrated with her, and clearly it was intentional and consequences were served for her. its a well done lose of innocence subplot. i was worried this adversity would make her a villain but she is coming into her own in a good way i feel.
she was supposed to be teenager, not 30yo woman begging her master.
but she isnt selling it. mind you, shes supposed to seem like a BOY on top of all the things she fails to convey. she begs like a 10year old anime girl with the according hand manerisms. its absurd looking. if thats what the role required they shouldve had an actress who could convey that play her teenage self. still they should act like someone who conceivably pass as a teen boy.

This amnesia is getting old. Can't Cdrama come up something unique?
it resolves quickly and realistically where she only partially forgets/recalls. even in the first 2 episodes she remembers herself already. not everything. but herself and an idea of major events. thats quick. if you are impatient with that then you will miss out on one of the best female generals and one of the best romances and one of the best historicals.
