just starting it after avoiding for some reason, and the first episode reallllllllly impressed me. its got me more excited than anything i’ve seen lately

second male lead had entirely too much screentime

man “Im hurting you to protect you” stuff is really difficult for me to appreciate.

mannnn i hate and despise the second pricess. what a pathetic person. (not character, she functions well in the plot but so infuriating)

cant answer everything but male lead is super powerful but not arrogant, he is kind and reserved.
there are many action scenes.
female lead is obsessed with male lead, utterly devoted.

im not caught up so thats all i can say so far.

how can SUCH a pretty person’s acting be so lackluster

no reason to hate the actor lol, he is just not good at acting. but the character for sure!

god his dad is hatable and also the worst actor in the show. does he only know how to squint to varying degrees???

also googled a bit, her rep in the industry seems mixed at best. her performance are often described as flat, but some are praised. generally it seems shes considered competent but nothing special. thats kinda how id describe her currently. again, ive barely touched the surface and ill definitely keep an open mind!

alright i accept that you didnt meant to saw we are wrong outright but that theres more to this than one drama can conve. i think i understand your intentions and they are good ones! i am truly excited to see more in large part because she has such a passionate defender as you.

i see what you mean, but i think forming opinons along the way is also valid, provided you are open to changing your mind once presented with more information. so these opinions might seem definitive, and maybe its appropriate to caution people to be open and encourage them to try to explore more of an actor’s works, but to say they dont have grounds for their is getting into debateble territory. im sure more of is will awknowledge these are observations in progress more than set opinions and judgements. and we all have a right to share our early observations.

ok, deci, i really am intrigued by your passionate defence and still you should accept people have a different perception of a performance sometimes. just deem them wrong and move on. no need to invalidate.

i didnt judge her range based on my experience, i judged it based off the other comment i was replying to. perhaps, now that you feel so strongly shes capable to of more than it seems so far from this drama, ill get to see that too. i look forward to it. but so far she seems to fall short of all the comments defending her acting. obviously this is largely my take and doesnt have to be taken as a definitive anything. even im open to taking in more info and changing my mind.

the actor playing his father is not a great actor, i hope he appears less and less. plus i hate him for in story reasons too

actually i have a bit more to add. if the actor can only give a good performance in a certain type of drama then i feel that in itself calls into question their abilities. like look at the male lead, from idol dramas to whatever, he always delivers. so even though im open to seeing her skills shine, she cannot be considered great at her craft if she has so little range.

that’s exciting and i look forward to seeing more of her skills!

this is my first li yi tong drama and she is so pretty and thats why Ive been drawn to her but her acting is realllllly disappointing so far. that said, not all roles need amazing actors and she seems well enough cast in this. the male lead i find the opposite of attractive and yet i can always count on him for a good acting performance. overall really into this, hoping it will impress me more later on cos im only 10 eps in.

i think this is a bit better than when destiny brings the demon, and worse than moonlight mystique (which is my fave) but ultimately this may be subjective. love all 3
