In a way - yes. It is one of those dramas that were going well, and steadily raising the bar one episode after another. But then it hit the brakes suddenly and started free falling from last 4 episodes. AND purely because of the plot - the actors played their characters to a perfection, but how much can they do if the plot goes haywire?
Still, I would recommend this drama but with precautions and the expectation that the ending episodes may not be up to the mark.

Yes - I don't really follow celeb news - just hot reels hahaha - especially the ones circulating more than ever for Jun and his diverse roles this year. In that I got across a news article which shared he might enlist this or next year. Given that people of his birth year and around are enlisting - I won't be surprised that he will announce it too. From Tteokbokki is Terrible to devouring huge servings of it,Confession of "liking Tteokbokki" Romance is Romancing - and it was worth the wait! It was always there, just needed in our faces and sealed with a 😘 So, Can't Wait for the Finale Week for it all to unfold. While I can't wait for it I will also miss this drama - these past weeks it has become such a comfort watch!

Many are wondering why the ex-girlfriend Kang Sol was introduced so briefly only to be killed off - as we understood in end of Ep 9 and by Ep 10 preview.
I personally thought it was a good angle - like they did not stretch it out and make Kang Sol a mean, conniving ex coming back to be a thorn for our main couple. She in a way is perhaps a catalyst for the love story and also more.
1) Her role in bringing the main couple close: ➥ She made Mi Ran feel jealous, then overcome it. We get to know that she is rooting for Mi Ran, and in fact her presence makes Mi Ran be a bit more bold and take action. ➥ Director Do also has feelings for Mi Ran: I mean it was obvious from the start when he gave the jacket, then followed her to the other gym in secret, then also shoved her ex at the bus stop and now running barefoot with her on the back. Just need them to seal it with a kiss, for these fools to realise that they are in love.
2) Kang Sol's second part of comeback reason: ➥ This will be more evident in coming episode. ➥ Her death would be blamed on Director Do. She was an influencer and so people will look for targets to blame her death on and given the preview looks like its falling on Director Do. ➥ Maybe the 24-Hour Club will be in danger of shutting down, but Director Do will have unwavering support from Mi Ran, bringing them closer ➥ Further, looks like Lee Roy might help out in some way; making amends to their otherwise banter/rivalry ➥ Ultimately something from Kang Sol's archive posts/or future scheduled posts will be revealed and people will realise Director Do is innocent OR Mi Ran and Director Do will clear the latter's name bringing them closer
Hence, I loved the way they used the ex-girlfriend formula in a very refreshing way. It all fits quite well, and till now we don't hate any character or so. Its all still in good fun, emotional bits, and hopefully NEVER A SAD ENDING!

Yes, acting no doubt was top-notch, I mean with fine actors and actresses, we expected nothing less. But that itself is a double-edged sword you can say - cause with such caliber of talent - I would have preferred another form of ending. It felt too underwhelming the more I think about it. Like the makers just did not know what to do and had a very overly used formula played out.
Ep 9 - Our ML finds expensive books from a public (?) library (scene with his master, MGM) and then goes to Zhen Tower. The books are in the hands of the attendant, and after meeting with FL - ML is returning empty-handed 😅 books totally forgotten
I know the whole point was not books but meeting with Master in secret and the FL But still as a man who is supposed to be clever and resourceful, this was a character oversight Minor but there 😂😂😂

Ahhh - MGM is complex. So am starting Ep 9 and so far while MGM has been great, I have my suspicions too. Especially given that he is a person who would do anything not to drown in the proverbial sinking boat - like he himself mentioned and advises Zang Hai.
I really like his character - he reminds me of Sensei's like Yoda, Shifu, Miyagi etc. So I really hope he is a good character through and through. But I am still a little sus with the whole masked man, and the 2 masters - like could there be another motive they trained this young boy....!
