❤️ 100% - even in the limited episodes across dramas that I have seen him, he's really very talented. I mean its a good/bad thing that I saw his amazing acting in Ep 38 (I cheated to see the end) and I can see the pain/anguish - which is such a 180 difference from how Ah Zan started out - and it makes me heart ache. I need to prepare myself to continue - which is why I think I'll watch something happier and then come back to it. But yes, what a fantastic actor for sure!

I have been getting into C-dramas, Reset is probably the only one that I saw and loved. There were rom-coms here and there but did not hold my attention. I personally like the "Republican Era" in history of China, in general - and totally love the tropes that have a military/police/revolution themed story or love story. Which is why this was on my radar for very long. I was going to start it for CZY - but then TWOT started airing so I came here first. But looks like I need to go back to DNAD - it seems very interesting - acting and plotwise! Plus, I got to know it has a happy ending - so win win for me.

Since you're diving deeper into Repulican era dramas - if you find some gems, please recommend it to me! :)

I have tried to watch it twice - bad, sadly even CZY's charming self could not make me complete it. Maybe it is not a drama for me - I had many discussions with those who loved it - to see it from their eyes but I just cannot bring myself to digest the FL's depiction which is as good as a childbride. Like it just seemed off with her childish acting and the ML being relatively older - though I have been told by other watchers that it kind of hints at the real life society where the consent age for women is very low I think.

Yes, I had started both of them long back, dropped it, and then went back again. Hidden Love - I have to permanently drop cause it just was not for me (the whole FL childlike vibes was not working even post lengthy discussions with other MDLers), Mr Bad - so far is going well in my second attempt so looking to finish it

But no matter what - CZY definitely has become one of my top actors, whose works I will seek out in future, for sure!

I had been watching this drama from the start, and in spite of the logical flaws loved the emotional impact & profund message it had - explained vividly because of the main and supporting characters. I kind of put it on hold at Ep 18, thinking I will come back to it once it finishes. It did today - but the comments were so mixed that I straightaway watched the finale - Ep 38. In spite of not knowing the inbetween - the ending for me is too sad. Probably because I am a sucker for happy endings - and while I knew this kind of open ending was coming, I don't think I am ready for it.

I might come back to it later - but even in this short while I have come to immensely admire - Chen Zheyuan. He is simply not a handsome face, but packs a lot acting talent which is evident in every scene. If and when I come back to this drama - it will be for him and his portrayal of a character suffering from severe PTSD. His acting is making me start C-dramas seriously and I have already re-attempted to watch happier dramas of his : Mr Bad and another drama that am super curious - Dark Night and Dawn.

But while this was a tear-jerker, I hope to see more of him in modern rom-coms, action and thriller dramas/movies (with hopefully a happy ending please!)

Very rare to find a show that makes has great action, comedy, suspense and delivering heartwarming scenes that would leave you a sniffling but smile at the same time. And all of this is focused in equal measure - making the drama a complete package.

I can only think of my favorites - Mr Queen, Signal, Barakamon, Move to Heaven etc. to have evoked similar feelings and reaction.

Which is why I can feel that this is definitely going to be a 9.5+ drama for me (maybe 10/10 but I'll reserve it until the finale is out) - simply because it has no room for error till now, delivering on everything it promised (and more), leaving me surprised at how good it is and entertaining as hell!

Can't believe it will end soon, usually for airing dramas - towards the end it feels like a chore to finish but in this case I just could not get enough and was excited week on week for this to air.

Surely going to rewatch it once it ends #GaMin and the Study Group is just too fun to let go so soon!
This speaks so much about the drama's brilliance when so many are sad for it to end, and simply want more of it. Good thing is this drama is part of a larger universe - so I am eager to see what sequels, spin-offs etc this show will have next!

the hurt and betrayal might compel her - though maybe not a slap (although I'd like that since it is a drama) but she will definitely be upset with her brother.

Which is why I hope they make the next seasons in a manner - that most people are interesting/diverse - individually, as a couple(s), or friend group. It will then be exciting to watch them with almost equal screentime and not be relatively one or few sided.

Very honestly I saw this as - Sian and her 3 suitors, Arin-Kook, HaeLin slightly mixing it up, TaeHwan Ji Yeon slightly in the end but again not worth the full attention. I had more scenes to fastforward and skip cause that segment/people were not interesting or boring than the ones that kept me at the edge of my seat.

If you don't mind - do share the better dating shows, might need to see them as a detox from this one :P

Your last paragraph literally summarises how I felt for the entire season. Also - the two different infernos did not work well at all.

For some reason I want the makers of the show to - 1) give equal time to all contestant/pair 2)show a bit more of 1:1 girl-bonding/guy bonding 3) for the finale - do a reverse, have the guys choose the girls - just to keep something interesting. I still don't understand how am still here for S4 - can only wonder what they will do differently for S5!

The season is over - and while Sian chose Jun Seo, it was so comedic in my eyes. Like from the point when Jun Seo starts chasing Sian, I was so shocked. It was so sudden and easily could see through it being a delibrate move to make a sub-show "The Sian Show" and have three men fighting for her.

The show actually would be more better - if they really had equal focus on all couples, not do over-the-top drama. Urgghhh seriously!

agree - I mean at the end of the day it is still a game show, not sure if they will remain together ... but all the coincidences were all what you call serendepidity... Fateful encounters and they did not even know that they were so close . . .

What? Really? I never saw any of his behaviour that way - like he has always been decisive about ARin post the paradise. It was Hae-lin's conflict + the fact that this is a game show where people mostly sway and I think that's why the panelists did not expect him to straight away turn down the other women. He was being a gentleman and told it in a good manner - rather than just being abrupt

At least - that's what I feel...
