Song Ran: I applied to stay in Happo temporarily. Li Zan: Temporarily? How long is that? Song Ran: How long do you hope it is?
MY REACTION: https://tenor.com/bQOcZ.gif You go gurrrlll! Make that MOVE! Take charge! Lead the way!! š„ ā¤ļø
Li Zan: I think, as long as you are safe, you can stay as long as you want! š« š¤¤ š
AAAAAAHHHH - WHY SO CUTE!! Who knew there would come a day after a decade long of watching dramas, that I would come to appreciate and scream with glee at slow-burn romance like this. I blame these two good looking main leads and especially CZY. This is like when the Hallyu wave had crashed over me for the first time, just this time its from C-dramaland! BRB, Hyperventilating cause these two were super cute in Ep 10 š
I know too late to ask this question but still - Does she call him A-Zan or Zan? The subtitles say Zan but it seems like she's saying A-Zan and I have seen many comments here say the latter as well.
Zan is understandable cause its his name, but if its A-Zan, why the A? Is it some novel reference?
Prefer the coupling of TaeHwan and JiYeon as they seem real all be it seems to have derailed with TaeHwans awkwardness…
Haha understandable - I just really liked the moment DEX appeared on S2, his debut episode and the game was really interesting. The rest honestly I have forgotten because it was again something similar to this season - being focussed on an unnecessary love triangle, though everyone was still interested.
And when he came in S3 as a host and till date, I feel his commentary and views are very honest and perceptive. Hence I suggested if you'd like to see that transition from contestant to panelist - but I get you, we need a breather from this high intense shows! XD
as i replied to Riakrazy, Jun Seo sold himself in a completely different light on their first date. She was into…
Like Si-an being confused towards two men, maybe Jun Seo was too. But then he kind of made it clear to Min Seol and then Jeong U that he'll go after Sian.
Maybe it is his macho persona that they keep refering to which made him say no he is not tired when he actually was. I feel too now that the first date was not an act but him trying hard cause he got paired with his girl-crush. Like the panelists said that people do act well in early stages of relationship but after the rosiness fades, their real self shows. I think he tried to be the perfect man but then ultimately his real self showed in date #2 and overall just like Si-an he's confused as hell.
Just like the panelist - even am wondering when my own love life is in shambles why am I so focussed on these guys XD - my main couple is Dong Ho and Arin...these shows will be the death of me :P
Romance is not the focus of the drama, though there are ferlings there. The ending is considered to be happy and…
Phew - okay! Glad to be spoiler free then :)
One of the reasons for me to watch Dark Night and Dawn is that it is so different from his other rom-com characters. So really looking forward to it - thanks again for answering and clearing my doubts :)
While a part of me wants JY to leave with TH at the finale but I feel she would have been better matched with Theo or Jun Seo. Idk why they just have a vibe that's similar and I feel would have been a better match but they never interacted in the show and both the men chose wrong (Si-an) probably cause it was how the showmakers wanted.
Ji Yeon has that mature, sporty personality - which I feel might match with DEX (and he openly says that he likes her), Theo and Jun Seo.
Romance is not the focus of the drama, though there are ferlings there. The ending is considered to be happy and…
Thank you - and yes, I really hope they change the ending in the drama otherwise would be too painful to have made the journey of 38 episodes for something less than a happy ending, no matter how realistic it is.
I'll not divulge much but I fear in my earlier comments have spoiled it a bit for you - sorry about that :(
But yes - do enjoy the show, am very invested in the show, and have been commenting a lot every episode I watch ššš
Prefer the coupling of TaeHwan and JiYeon as they seem real all be it seems to have derailed with TaeHwans awkwardness…
Oh the first time watching the show? Ah am not sure how it will be for you - if I say this but you should really watch it in order. I feel you'll like it - though it is not like they are related - but maybe cause the panelists change would surprise you (DEX is <3 )
Ep 10 - Around 14:15 when Theo is sharing about Si-an and how he misses her that she's in paradise, he's wearing a blue knit polo t-shirt, which is exaclty like what Jeong-U was wearing when he was returning from Paradise.
Did the men share clothes? if so - I love this bromance - would have really loved to see the BTS hahhaa. We have seen women do it in various movies/dramas - but honestly men just pick and wear it if they are roommates. But would have really liked such scenes of the guys - given we see so much when women are doing their hair/makeup.
P.S - I actually really liked that T-shirt, if anyone know which brand it is from please share! Probably the only thing I can aspire to wear from this show - the womens clothes being too off the mark for me anyways :P
Romance is not the focus of the drama, though there are ferlings there. The ending is considered to be happy and…
thank you - this is what I needed. Have been trying so hard to complete Zheyuan's dramas as I know he's talented and ofcourse super swoon-worthy handsome. Sadly Hidden Love and Mr Bad were not for me.
I am not into historical dramas (or C-dramas in general) and therefore the other drama I had left was this. But before I could start it - The White Olive Tree began and am currently watching that.
But reading people's comment there, it seems the novel had a sad ending for his character and I am afraid what the drama will do. Therefore I came back this drama and wanted to ensure this is not the case here.
I know it is all fiction but still when you get engrossed in a drama and character, the journey and ending matters.
Thanks for sharing that this is truly a happy ending drama. I'll keep it as my safety net and start it after TWOT ends.

No worries - I too want them to end up together, but TH would need to clear the air. Right now JY is thinking that he thinks and talks more about himself and is probably not interested in her. But I feel that is not the case - I feel he is a shy/awkward person not one of those people who go out of their way and try to talk to others just cause for the sake of it.
The way his eyes lit up and he was around JY as soon as he saw her (even if the show is scripted or not) made it pretty evident that he is only interested in her. Hoping for a happy ending *fingers-crossed*

Oh no - I didn't mean she's playing games. I think she meant what she said - that they should meet other people as well. I instantly thought that maybe she did not like the date - which is what she explains in the solo scenes when they speak to the audience.
It is when TH asked if it is a test - got me thinking if it is - and the showmakers are also making us think and remain confuesed as to what JY wants.
My man - Kook Dong Ho, please don't waver and make me believe in you by being a single woman man! Jebal - Please! š„¹ While am personally simping over him as he's literally close to my own ideal type (handsome awkward nerd) - I want A Rin and him to end up together (even if it is till the credits roll in finale)
Si-An [in whiny voice]: Can't you be more gentle / sweet towards me? Jun-Seo: This is who I am. What can I do?
Like, seriously woman what do you want? The man literally fought for you and is saying that he's here for you. His confession about feeling bad for Min-Seol was honest imo (at least he's not hiding it). What does she want - to dip her in honey or she wanted him to show off fake/over the top affection in front of the other guy she was interested in?
Tbh - I was mad Jun Seo for falling head over heels for Si-an overnight but wishing he sees through this 2nd date and either goes solo or chooses Min-seol. I personally don't like this kind of clingy behaviour - like have some confidence woman and maybe accept the fact that the man could be tired after all that physical game. Have to really be like -__- and bear through their scenes...Le Sigh!

Oh I just came to that point [writing this as I watch Ep 9] I think Ji Yeon is very observant to him and also what she wants. After the first date when she told him that she feels they should see other people - I thought for a second that she really means it as she did not like her date with TaeHwan. But then you know how these shows go - and when TH said is this a test, even I thought - maybe?
But she totally confirmed in Ep 9 - she probably could be thinking that TH is not being honest, and just kept choosing her cause there was no one else. Although like you - I also think that in his awkwardness he did not see that he's simply speaking about himself and not being able to showcase his inner feelings well. Lets see how it goes...
I think we've already established that this drama is non realistic and focuses on the romance. In order to enjoy…
I am getting into C-dramas (slowly), if you have some recommendation (modern or republican era ones) that are realistic, please let me know. It is okay if they are not highly rated on MDL - sadly have realised over time that MDL rating are not true indicators.
Am sure you'll share awesome recs since we discussed what we liked/didn't for this current show :)
Ep 9 - The Double Date: I know the show directors as always made it The Si-an show, on how the two men are so different which is making her confused between them (*when will this end*)....but a lot of credit must be given to Choi You-Jin.
It can get a little annoying with her constant laughs/sound effects - but one cannot deny that she literally made the otherwise dreary scenario fun. In fact she did make Jeong-U have fun (*though I felt at that it was all for Si-an*) which is what they both intented to do. Basically she was the life of the party - or double date in this case. Along with her the men were having fun, whereas Si-an was acting (or shown to be) pissed - why? cause the guy she was with was being his authentic self and not showering her with gentleness. Like he was the same way before - gal just didn't see it and was in her girlcrush mode.
Ha, anyways - so glad at least 3 of them had fun, and as an audience You-Jin was really good in this situation - so credit where it is due! She made up for the weird swinging scene :P
PS: Call it the Si-an show, cause I mean afterall they made the double date for this purpose. Else the logical thing would have been to have third couple as well - but then Ji Yeon and Tae-hwan hardly get anytime so . . .
Li Zan: Temporarily? How long is that?
Song Ran: How long do you hope it is?
