Ah same he is by no means a great actor but just his visuals attract you to continue the drama.. For me I can't…
I have heard so many people on MDL give mixed views, and the story makes me want to watch Rookie Historian. But am unable to cause of the FL. I know she is known as a good actress, but after watching her in Bride of Habaek - I just cannot bring myself to watch her in any other drama (T_T). Same reason why I am not able to start Run On as well that stars another of my favorite - Siwan!
But maybe sometime in future - I can try and watch it π€πΌ Thanks for sharing your views - maybe the power of CEW's visuals will make me cave in π
True Beauty - I watched it as it aired. And more than the story I think it was the social media hype of Suho vs Seojun that made it so popular. Personally for me the first half had some good comedy and cute moments by main leads and other characters. Won't recommend it 10/10 but like a 6/7 and that too again for CEW, but mainly cause of FL and her siblings' antics at times!
This is my first time watching a drama with Chris Wu and wow - I have missed a lot! But better late than never.
Any pointers where can I see more of him - maybe in a good romantic role? While I loved his tortured detective role in this show, seeing him in a romantic angle will help my delulu soul π
Have already seen trailers of Mom, Don't Do That and The Ghost Bride (but that is not what I want). Something that has a real romance feel or rom-com elements with him in lead role. And something recent, Autumn's Concerto is a classic but it's too old for me to get into the feels of it.
Any recommendations would help! ππΌππΌππΌ
By no means is he an acting legend for me, though I know with every project he is trying his best. But every time I see him onscreen, I cannot take my eyes of him and his breathtaking visuals. Like even in the latest episode of this show 5 & 6 there were many moments where they just zoomed in on his face and I had to pause and wonder - "why are some people so lucky?"
Like man, I wish I could have 1% of his looks, things might be a little easier for me in many walks of life.
Hehe, jokes apart - he may not enamor me by his acting but for some reason, I always end up watching his new shows. Just to watch this handsome man again. And again. He truly is very handsome and while I wish I knew someone like him in my life, am so happy for him and his success!
I just can't bring myself to watch Rookie Historian, The Island where he is main cast, else I have seen all his work where he is the main, and True Beauty/Gangnam Beauty are my repeat comfort dramas cause of the story and him. Looks like A Good Day to be a Dog is on the way to become the third one!
It's not a strategy. This just happens with dramas sometimes when different sports seasons come around. Baseball…
Thanks for explaining this!
I meant the one episode per week formula, I thought they did purposely given the webtoon is great - and people look forward to the adaptation + cast.
Also, even if the games delay the airing of episode, they could make up for it by airing 2 episodes the next week.
The fact they are not doing so, means that the drama will run longer, and audience in any case will wait for it. This gives them more bandwidth to run advertisements which I think might be the biggest revenue still for dramas in general. Hence I thought it could be a strategy, given that the audience will watch it no matter what - they are not bothered by the delays or releasing 2 back to back episodes. #justmyguess
As if waiting for one episode per week, they keep delaying it cause of baseball games! While we are still anticipating it, if this repeats - this strategy might backfire and we might lose interest altogether! T_T
Here for Byeon Woo Seok playing Ryu Shi Oh. And praying with all my heart that the villain does not die/get killed.
I am just starting Ep 6 - and he is yet to have a full fledged screentime. But then am watching this show just for him, cause I know everything else cannot be iconic as the prequel.
His whole demeanor so far reminds me of my favorite K-villain, Yoo Ji Tae from Old Boy (2003 )(especially that exercising scene in Ep 5 - like holy F, am pregnant - and he has hardly been on screen for 5 minutes or spoken more than 10 words so far)
Sincerely hoping he gets a happy ending so that I can remain delulu with his character, forevermore!
So I started this show yesterday and have binged 5 episodes so far. Just as I began Ep 6 - something seems off with Nam-Soon's age.
The episode starts by saying she is is 22, but how is this possible? She was lost at the age of 5/6 and her parents had been searching for her for last 20 years. By that she should be 25/26 - or is math not mathing for the writers?
Just finished watching it and I can think of the following reasons: 1. In the ending scene, when Jun-mo shoots…
Hmmm - I agree. I think what JunMo went through was quite traumatizing, and there could be symptoms like PTSD in Military Veterans.
But from a relationship perspective, I personally don't think he felt guilty for caring/loving Hae Ryeon. Also her being a criminal has nothing to do with love in my opinion. Cause the same thing can apply to Gi-Cheol, who is also a criminal and a cop, Eui Jeong caring/loving him.
In someway - I think both understood that this mission had changed both of them and also their feelings towards each other, and hence they parted ways. Which is again okay - better to go different ways than be in a relationship in name only. I mean I wish they could have worked it out - but I guess on some extent they might have felt they cannot.
I sound like a relationship advisor - but all these discussions definitely cements the fact that the emotions, situation and characters have been very well depicted!
Can someone explain me why their marriage ended? Why they had to break up?
Just finished watching it and I can think of the following reasons: 1. In the ending scene, when Jun-mo shoots Gi-Cheol before latter can shoot himself, it all happened in split seconds parallelly. Like in that moment, when Jun-mo saw his wife rushing to Gi-Cheol he realizes that his wife geniunely cares for him and even loved GC.
2. During the investigation the lines between being a spy/undercover agent vs gang member blurred for Jun-mo, which we see quite often. Maybe he actually came to care for Gi-Cheol and bought his answer that GC never had the opportunity to live a normal life cause of circumstances around him. Maybe he cared for him like a real brother, and therefore respected his love for Eui Jung
3. Junmo himself cares for Lee Hae Ryeon a lot, which is evident. Maybe the guilt made him part ways with his wife, since Eui Jung too liked GC. Or love can change, and for Jun-mo it changed from his wife to Lee Hae Ryeon. Circumstances were the factors that bought upon these feelings, perhaps.
Not sure if my explanations carry much logic or whether this what the showmakers wanted to portray - but this is what I thought.
Happy to hear what others think as well - cause this certainly was not just an action drama, there were so many emotional layers to it as well.
Ep 3 Spoilers for Lee Bo Gyeom - what is his role/mystery? AND Seo Won. Sharing under spoiler tag in first comment…
LEE BO GYEON: Basis the outcome of Ep 3 - he is definitely a reincarnation.
1. Is he the Mountain Tiger Spirit ? (Have not read the webtoon but know the premise that he is the one who gave the curse to the FL's family) 2. Is he trying to bring Seo Won and Hae Naa together or NOT? 3. What is that mystery room and how is allowed to access it from school and no one noticed? 4. Who is the lady with that flower embroidered scarf that got shot by the arrow?
SEO WON: 1. Seeing the flashback he has in Ep 3, has he always liked the FL as soon as she joined the school? 2. Or is she someone known to him, cause hearing her name made that glowy effect happen/like a lightbulb lit up... 3. If he does like her, why did he admit he is uncomfortable around her? Cause he crushing that's why..
Ep 3 Spoilers for Lee Bo Gyeom - what is his role/mystery? AND Seo Won.
Sharing under spoiler tag in first comment - anyone has similar thoughts or can explain. (I have not read the webtoon yet, but I don't mind the spoilers cause this one week wait is too much)
I watch dramas/movies with a good story and cast - if either doesn't work, I don't think for a second and drop it, hence my ever growing on-hold and drop lists. But with Cha Eun Woo - I guess I am a sucker for his perfect face and voice! Hence I have literally seen all his works (barring 1 or 2) in spite of the not-so-good acting.
I know acting/idol was not his first choice of profession, and I believe he is trying his best in acting, singing and dancing. I think modelling is something which comes very naturally for him. But he always remains as one of the most handsome faces I have ever come across, and therefore I end up watching every new work of his - pausing every frame longer than necessary just to see his perfect features.
I think in spite of disliking the cardboard acting, I might be one of those people who sincerely wishes that he improves his acting to match his handsome looks. Like he deserves to be more than a just pretty face considering he is definitely trying his best. Really hoping this new drama - A Good Day to Be a Dog, becomes one for him. π€πΌβ€οΈ
(P.S. Please don't hate me - if you like/not like Cha Eun Woo, this is just my humble opinion, you can have yours!)
But maybe sometime in future - I can try and watch it π€πΌ

Not only they gave us 2 episodes but damn that shower scene of Cha Eun Woo right at the start of Ep 5 β€οΈβπ₯π₯and that cute Ep 6 ending π
(Just kidding - I mean it is still a week's wait again, but am not as miffed as before π π )
This week we had 2 episodes - hehehe!
I meant the one episode per week formula, I thought they did purposely given the webtoon is great - and people look forward to the adaptation + cast.

I see it says watch the teaser below but cannot see it.... :/
While we are still anticipating it, if this repeats - this strategy might backfire and we might lose interest altogether! T_T
The expectations are all time high - given the cast, story and teasers!
And praying with all my heart that the villain does not die/get killed.
