Will this have a Season 2? Cause I have so many unanswered questions... Can anyone share their thoughts - adding it under spoiler tag in first comment.
Also - started this late evening and binged it straight till 3 am in the morning. But why was this so good and addictive? Do I have a newfound appreciation for #makjang dramas?
If this is true, and Lee Sung Min is having most of the screentime - I am excited to watch this. But am not sure how it will be if they are casting some other actor to play a younger version of him, and he is just in cameo/bit parts. Cause it is not easy to live up to the role when you have had such a remarkable performance like Sung Min gave!
Exactly, except Yoo HaNa is just an employee whereas MHS dad is already a board member, Mr. Min. He is pretty…
That's some great observation! I totally forgot that private scene between Grandfather and Mr Min, and totally missed him in the press conference/board meeting scenes.
1. I know the character is played by the actress who underwent a transformative journey for it. But in the drama…
My thoughts too - like, why not cast any male child actor? Kim Kang Hoon comes to my mind - he could have done it and very well too, I am sure.
Also, the actress was 27 years old in 2022, when the drama came out. So at 27, she portrayed <14 year old boy. Which is commendable in terms of art/acting, but makes me question why was this the decision? π
Thanks for confirming that Seong U was a guy - I remember, FL telling his mom that she should think about what her "son" has done to the victim and his family. And also, that it was him again at the trial in the ending scene - it is sad, that what the FL shared is true, if not punished right, juvies could become repeat offenders.
He's amazing, isn't he! He has a large catalogue of roles, but personally I really enjoyed his work in:- Substitute…
Most definitely he is! And thank you for sharing the recommendations - I will go through them. π«ππΌ
I have heard a lot about Perfect Match - probably cause I googled him and found that the FL there is his current girlfriend (they had like an On/Off/On thing I guess). Might start with that first!
So does this mean she really DID die in the joseon era and can now not return back and she now only exists in…
I think this needs a spoiler tag!! Also - maybe.
My initial guess/theory is: Transportation (like not just the soul but completely physical bodies)
Given what is showed in Ep 8 when PYW sees flashback while speaking to Cheon Myeong in front of that mossy Virtuous Woman structure in the woods. Not sure if they retrieved her body from the well or not, she must have been AT LEAST declared dead for the virtuous woman structure to be erected and it to be noted in the history books/journal. But we cannot be certain if she is truly dead.
Transportation also because Sa Wol followed suit and reached present Seoul. She was not forced like Yeon Woo, but could have either fallen in the well while checking for Yeon Woo or in sorrow, she did jump after her but does not remember.
In either case - the well and the tree are probably a portal between past and present. But only at a certain time can it be activated (that weird moon phase time). So there is still a chance that these two ladies were on verge of death, but the portal activated and they simply transported through time. Their bodies were not discovered, cause in past one simply believed them to be dead since they fell in a deep well.
Also, why I believe Transportation also holds true cause other characters are definitely reincarnations, as they have other worldly ties. Like stepmom has her own family, backstory of having a hand in killing Tae Ha's mother, marrying his father, having Tae Min. Tae Ha too has other memories - with his mother, grandfather etc. So does Midam owner. They are reincarnations for sure. Sa Wol and Yeon Woo - do not have any such backstories or ties in the present world.
Hence, I believe they transported to Present World. Their bodies are yet to be found in Joseon, where they could be barely alive. So through some magic they transported in their physical forms and therefore can still go back.
Had they been truly dead in Joseon/past and cannot go back - then I cannot find the explanations of how are they here in this present world? Like is it rebirth/reincarnation? If that is the case then it would mean their soul travelled from past to present. But then it needs to be dwelling in a physical body that has some connect in the present which is not told.
I know am being too scientific about it, and the show and writers might play it out in their own way - but the nerd in me just wanted to type it all out π hope it makes some sense tho!
I wish to find Jung Joon Hyeong in real life π This article description of this character, my own interpretation when I watched the drama and Nam Joo Hyuk's portrayal were all great! π
Yet, to watch the rest to know about them (especially Love Me If You Dare, it has been on my PTW list since too long) - but what an amazingly fun article! It took time as you mentioned, but thank you for not giving up on it @kkdrama ! #arigato
the male lead from hanayori dango/boys over flowers/meteor garden. He is easily my most disliked male lead of all…
I watched them when Asian wave had started (2009-ish) and tbh it was a fever and I loved Gu Jun Pyo (BOF - Korean). But even then I knew if he was real, I don't think I would like that person, but it was the whole vibe and pre-teen me loved it and discussed/crushed hard with my other friends!
But yes, now they will be the reddest of red flags. Even the show because it is one of my first dramas are ranked in range of 6-7, today I might not even watch it and if I do it would not be 2-4 in rating.
Still, I feel they are classics - and if you can, do watch it. Kind of like history of K-dramas, they started the whole magic and hence you would appreciate the dramas of today, more?
I am yet to start this show - this is high on my PTW cause I love Si Wan. But given my love for him, I am not biased and also don't like all his work. But I and I don't think anyone can deny his acting prowess which is the biggest factor for me to see his works, cause he literally lives the character he plays.
So am reading a lot of comments that share that the show is not great. Wanted to know - what is bad, is it the story/acting/direction?
Would really love to know the opinions of those who are watching it. I will still binge it, but I want to set my expectations accordingly. TIA!
Anyone else like Jo Bok Rae and Bae In Hyuk voices and dialogue delivery? BIH - I have been a fan since long, but this is my first drama of Jo Bok Rae and really love his voice too.
While BIH is all serious - but he has a very mellifluous voice. Calm, soothing π And Jo Bok Rae - can do so many variations with his pitch - from serious to comedy, really commendable ππΌππΌππΌ
It keeps getting better and better, se young looks really good and young for her age cuz I donβt feel the 6…
I have been seeing (read: crushing on) Bae In Hyuk since a long time but never really googled his age. I thought he must be leagues with actors like Jang Ki Yong, Yoo Seung Ho and idols like Jin, Chanyeol, Suga and in the age range of 29-32 years.
Never did I think he would be April 1998 - 25 year old. Say whaattt? π«¨π«¨π«¨ Like younger than Jungkook and Cha Eun Woo?
He looks really mature for his age - and that voice and face ππ«°πΌπ
Girls don't want luxury items as gifts, they want choco pies and curling.
I personally feel the same - the best dates are amusement theme parks/arcade gaming and good food! And if you share desserts - that's the greenest flag π
well tbf they alway have English speakers speak like this for some reason. even the fluent and none fluent Koreans…
So I have a friend who is American, living in Korea since a very long time and is now an honorary citizen there. She is invited to SBS/MBC/KBS dramas to be part of the crowd actors/actresses scenes, where Westerners are needed in K-dramas.
I actually asked her this - and she said that it was done on purpose. Also, the actors here may not be full time actors, just like her. Like they might just ask someone to volunteer to deliver a few lines etc., someone can be asked from the same field too - and they read the lines on teleprompter (in that very typical odd accent cause they are asked to speak slowlyyy).
The real reason is unknown - but I can say the same for some Indian characters portrayed in American sitcoms. Kunal Nayyar for example in Big Bang Theory does not speak like Raj in real life, nor do Indians in general speak that way while nodding their head π but that's how the stereotype has been and maybe done even today for comedic effect. π€£ We can see the difference in shows like Never Have I Ever or other recent shows that are truly diverse.
I think both can either funny, annoying or both - but it is what it is π More than actor's talent, it is probably the demand of the director etc.
I kinda hate what they did with Hae na's character. Its pretty low hanging fruit and unnecessary. The 2nd ML is…
So in terms of even her delulu romance towards Kang Tae Ha, I agree Ha Na is useless. Like there was just one instance (that was shown to us) and maybe more - but that is just a boss being fair/kind/sensible. She totally mis-constructed it in her head and is delulu. But yes, it is completely unnecessary. Like KTH and PYW have other set of issues, that can cause them to break apart. Ha Na is not even an ex- that can cause a rift between the two. So completely useless from that angle.
But I think she will play a role in terms of: 1 - Grandfather's schemes? There is something ongoing for sure. 2 - She just was a catalyst for last Ep 5-6 in the fashion show. Someone needed to ruin it, so that PYW could work and shine even in the face of issues. And in a way become more closer to KTH and Midam owner. 3 - This is my theory, but now that she has lost her footing with Grandfather and KTH, she may join the stepmother in her schemes. Stepmother may lure her by saying she will harm PYW only and not KTH. Ha Na may end up doing something, and in a way harm KTH too.
Can anyone share their thoughts - adding it under spoiler tag in first comment.

How was May I Help You and Let Me Be Your Knight - storywise?
But am not sure how it will be if they are casting some other actor to play a younger version of him, and he is just in cameo/bit parts. Cause it is not easy to live up to the role when you have had such a remarkable performance like Sung Min gave!
I blame the camera focus! :P
Kim Kang Hoon comes to my mind - he could have done it and very well too, I am sure.

Sung Hoon's character in Perfect Marriage Revenge would have made the cut, but agree in Noble My Love he was so meh. Handsome, but red flag π©
