I am sure given the premise of the drama, it will be one with a social message. And I hope they execute it well. And this cast - my God - what a fantastic talent pack with Park Bo Young, Yeon Woo Jin, Jang Dong Yoon, Lee Jung Eun 😍 looking forward to it!
If anyone reads stories on Wattpad - In 27 Days is one of the stories that is on similar lines. That was one of the first pieces of fiction where I came across this story - where someone goes back in time to save someone they love/eventually fall in love with.
Ofcourse, since then I have seen this trope and similar (not death related, like Familiar Wife, Go Back Couple). Not sure why, but such stories is definitely something I look forward to.
So to have these two talented actors play the lead role - makes this an exciting drama to look forward to. Hope they announce the timelines soon! ❤️
I am already excited to see him in this role. Have only seen him in 20th Century Girl (that was such a sobfest, in a good way?) so looking forward to see him in an antagonist kind of role.
Is it just me or anyone else's also hoping we have Sin-yu's mother and friend (Kim Wook) getting together?
I know the age difference could be large and this is not a socially acceptable relationship (especially those who still live in the medieval era - and yes, present day has loads of them *sigh* ) - but why are they so cute? Why are we getting these scenes that makes me want the the mother to go ahead and bitch slap the negligent father and get together with the friend?
I know why - cause she would be most afraid of her Sin-Yu if she even thinks about this relationship. Even Kim Wook. And rightly so, Sin Yu can either go ballistic or be understanding, or both one after the other.
I really hope there is some good ending for both of them though. We need such representation in dramaworld and not think of certain age-gaps to be good for a relationship and others a taboo!
The SML acting cutely at random times is so funny. It maybe unpopular opinion, but am sure a guy can still charm a girl without bringing in corny jokes and random moments of cuteness. It looked so unnatural 😅
I love Ha Joon, but it kind of doesn't make him a good rival. Like Rowoon will win it, hands down - destined or not! His jealousy and petty behavior goes well with his cool suave demeanour. It is not an instant on/off but gradual (like you can literally see him take pause in between and build up the seriousness from comedy or vice versa). I am actually low-key impressed with him (I love him for his handsome face, but his acting has come a long way too).
I really wish the writers do Ha Joon's character well, it looks very weird at the moment. Reminds me of the Katy Perry song - Hot & Cold :P
The Mystery of the Red Hand & Aeng Cho - Ep 9 & 10Commenting below and would love to know what others think (under…
Theory 1: Sin-Yu (Joseon) was in love with Hong-Jo (Joseon) but due to his work (military) he had to kill shamam and those who practices magic/black magic. Since the next Ep 11 trailer gives a voiceover of Sin-Yu saying what if we were mortal enemies in the past, I believe he did actually kill her because of his duty. Since he also killed her mentor, and claimed to love her - she felt betrayed and is the one who cursed him and his family.
Theory 2: SY and HJ (Joseon) love each other. But HJ is promised to marry the Gardener (who is either a Shamam in his own right, or a relative of the Shamam who takes in HJ under her wing). Gardener Ahjusshi (Joseon) gets wind of their love, and so curses SY and his family. But in his bravado, SY tries to kill Gardener Ahjusshi but HJ out of gratitude for her mentor tries to save him, and dies instead.
Somehow, this incident was so shocking to SY (Joseon) that he now sees that red hand of his lover as something that makes him uneasy. He reads it as a negative thing in present life, but it is actually his guilt for killing his lover accidently. So maybe in the present time HJ must realise her role, and forgive SY and break the curse.
Theory 2.5: Same love triangle - but Gardener tries to kill SY, but HJ comes in between. Gardener then curses them both that they cannot be together and SY to have a fate of early death. SY kills Gardener which is why present day Gardener Ahjusshi is again out for blood for both of them.
Who is AENG-CHO? 1. Either just another shamam who takes in HJ of Joseon era under her wing 2. It is HJ in past who is Aeng Cho, which is why SY is ordered to kill her?
OMG - I can't wait for the latest episodes! They have pumped up the excitement - hopefully they deliver it well up till the end.
I don't get the hate for the female lead. she's the reason I'm watching! I love that she is genuinely kind but…
I never hated the FL - I mean I am watching the show for Jo Bo Ah, but yes, initial episodes, I could not understand why she was behaving this way. IRL - I am also shy, plus I know a bunch load of people who are introverts and not social butterflies (not in a bad way, like we take time to socialize and make friends but at the same time like our own space too)
So coming from that mindset, the instant tearing up at the workplace just cause colleagues were being mean to FL did not instantly register with me. Corporate life anyways makes you tough (especially in places like Korea) so I did not relate with her character and questioned the writing/execution. But after Ep 5-6 it became more better, we had her backstory and more insights as to why she is the way she is - so now it makes more sense.
Is it a 100% accurate depiction of a shy/introvert person trying her best ? NO, cause it is fiction and open to interpretation by different viewers. Maybe that is why the FL will always get love/hate or something in-between from the audiences for her depiction of the role.
Idols barely care about music as it is. Acting is the way to go. He definitely gets paid more for acting as well.
unless you have success run like BTS!
Ultimately it is a capitalist's world (fortunately or unfortunately) and is all about the money. So unless the labels/agencies are going to give their artists the exposure and good return for their hardwork - in order to keep up/survive, idols either go for acting or modeling or both. Kind of what anyone does, even not in the entertainment industry.
Therefore caring for music - or the initial work they took on (music in this case) becomes less important. Very few are able to see past it, and remain determined & confident to pursue their passion.
could you recommend any other good japanese romance dramas like this?
Such romance J-dramas are rare, but if I had to share it would be: (❤️ symbolize how much I love them/rated them on 5)

Happy Birthday, Sugino Yosuke - one of my favorite Asian actors! From doing high-school roles in supporting - to owning shows like Koi Desu and Barakamon, he's such a delight to watch - so handsome and talented! ❤️❤️❤️
yes I was just going to post the exact thing.. it’s so wholesome and powerful at the same time .. like I get…
I was already in love with Sugino (how can he be so handsome and talented) - but this role makes me love him even more. Plus, the other characters in the show bring about their own quirks and we learn so much while watching them all together. I am a city girl - but if there is a village like this, even I want to go there ..
P.S. Today - 18th is his birthday as well - and as he is not so active on social media, I cannot wait for the new episodes to see more of him!
A little shocked at the sudden news - but it is not surprising. Given how he has been working and headed - it would have been difficult keeping up with the activities of the group.
Wishing both the best - will continue to enjoy Rowoon's and SF9's works, as always - whenever they come by! ❤️❤️❤️
I love this drama so much - just 9 episodes out, I ended up watching and rewatching them in span of two days! So, so wholesome - that I cannot get enough of it.
Definitely one of my top dramas of 2023- and it already a 10/10 for me and on my highly recommended lists! 🎉
Well, am so glad you like/d it #Archer&HadleyOTP
