Not bad at all. We're getting there. Soon we might actually have a full-budget Korean BL series. This one was…
Yesss, we’re getting so close to a proper BL drama… I can’t help but love this one despite all of its flaws because it’s a sign we’re headed in the right direction.
Taeseon: “Can you stay by my side and keep yourself safe, so I don’t regret falling for you?” Chaeha: “Yes, I can.” Chaeha, the very next episode: *believes the words of a potential traitor and gets stabbed… again*
lmao sorry I love this series but some stuff is just perfect unintentional comedy :‘D
The moments you list also ticked me off. Twice does Chaeha do nothing while Taesung gets roughed up. Then Taesung…
Totally agree, it’s a good series with a few regrettable flaws. What you just explained is the most glaring ones, then add to that Tae’s change of personality at the end, him appearing to save Chae without knowing his location (twice!), making the bad guy monologue to distract and overpower him is comically cliché, the AI-generated visuals, the rushed ending, the gag sound effects, some takes dubbed in post production but the sound was not well overlayed… really a shame because without all of that it would have been a masterpiece!
OK, I'm gonna be understanding and still critical. I can't help but feel that the last few minutes of the ending…
The moments you list also ticked me off. Twice does Chaeha do nothing while Taesung gets roughed up. Then Taesung does nothing while his secrets are being exposed. It just didn’t make sense.
You can tell they rushed filming at the end, they kept mid takes and dubbed them, Chaeha overpowering Haneul on the rooftop was a matter of 0.3 seconds and the “oh no did Chaeha die” sequence was barely longer. There were also many interrogation marks left hanging.
Was there really an informant? Or was Haneul impersonating Gyuho to lure Chaeha? If there really was one, lucky that Haneul was called as well and brought his knife with him. How did Taesung know they were on the rooftop? Another stabbing in Chaeha’s abdomen also felt repetitive and since he already survived one, we know he won’t die.
Also I didn’t understand, at the end, Taesung’s new proposal “go out with me”… it’s exactly what he offered two minutes ago? How is that a new proposal?
Excuse the potentially stupid questions, I haven’t slept in a while. I still commend them for trying to adapt such a long, slow burn novel and they did their best with the airing time they had. Not impressed with the use of AI though.
I actually see it very differently. I think the biggest mistake is judging it like a traditional BL, because that’s…
I get what you mean, this drama is definitely not perfect. But I’m still thrilled they gave us a dark(er) mystery BL with a non-romantic main plot and a bit more budget than usual. I hope that trend continues and maybe someday I’ll finally get my plot-heavy thriller BLs!
Wait I just realised that we only have two episodes left (a quarter of which will be spent of resolving the “liar revealed”) but they haven’t even started reinvestigating Chaeha’s father’s case?
I do agree about the plot, it’s my only big gripe with this drama. It’s either confusing or too obvious. The tension between the characters however, no notes from me.
Finished the first two eps and what the fuck. What the fuck. What. The. Fuck. Whatthefuckebejtkwhatthefucjnebrjfuck im flipping out this is so good??? How did I not know about this coming out??? The tension of Time of Fever + the toxicity of Secrets Relationships. I haven’t been this into a KBL since Semantic Error. I’m literally screaming what the fuck at my screen.
Chaeha: “Yes, I can.”

This director actually made a few BLs I liked a lot, and she improves like crazy with each new drama. I think her next work might actually kill me…
