He was not referring to being in the show. I didn’t look at the link I sent you but he said a lot. He's discussed how his family embraced him when he came out to them. There was actually kind of a toxic fan response with that same reasoning (no hate to you, like I get it, but research and follow through can clear things up), and it really saddened me how people brushed him off. But that's okay, it's tricky with language barriers and limitations in being able to access more information, plus people clearly like to pull crap like with Bigboss. I just hated how fandom failed him after he was so brave, so I'm admittedly a bit defensive over that. But it's your list and your call! ^_^ Best of luck to you maintaining it.

I don't like it either. I like them both on their own, but I don't want to see them as a couple. Ah, no, Joe's character was allosexual, but I did find it cool that they included side representation--something I don't think I've ever seen mentioned in any other show. And yeah, I haven't started the second season of Friend Zone yet, but I got ace vibes at the end there, so that's cool that they stuck with it. There's such a wide variety of ace types though, and I've literally only seen rep for sex-repulsed. I've also only seen it in m/m relationships so far, minus that single character in Cherry Magic. Losing another chance for female ace rep makes me extra sad. And she was aro, too! Which is even more unusual.

I'm trying hard not to compare these two shows, but I'm gonna have to really brace myself for the allohet crap.

There will definitely be a kiss. Some people are just being silly. GMMTV has literally never produced a show where the main couple didn't kiss. There's no reason this one is special. Plus the commenter's logic (that Krist will refuse) doesn't hold up, so don't worry.

I've been saying that from the moment this was announced, but I think we need to brace ourselves for that not being the case. The Japanese adaptation added that element, and this is supposed to stick more closely to the manga. Also there's been a lot of shipping between Sing and Jan, so I think they're gonna take it out entirely for a het pairing. :/ I'm so sad because we so rarely get that representation.

But also Benz Panupun and Oat Tharathon are openly gay. They've got a vlog with Earth where they all talk about being out or in the closet, being attracted to guys, etc.

Yeah, I know he's young, but I can't support that sort of thing. He seems to think what he did was cute and funny, not realizing how harmful it was to exploit the community that way. This is why half the time people don't even believe BL actors when they come out. x_x I think there are still people who think Tong Thanayut came out "as an ally," lmao.

Pretty graphic. There was simulated sex with thrusting and such. GMMTV was always a fade-to-black company, so I was quite surprised to see a woman's head bobbing in the opening as she went down on New. I'm actually not sure how they got away with what they showed on youtube, but yeah, it was all there. Possibly the brevity of these scenes had something to do with it. There were three m/f scenes in particular that were quite graphic and at least one m/m scene that was rather graphic, plus a bunch of less graphic but still surprising scenes for GMMTV between m/f, m/m, and yes, f/f. The f/f stuff was oddly the least graphic, but they had their moments.

I finally found a source with Benz talking about liking men. I'd heard he was openly gay for a while, but sources are seriously tough sometimes. He was going to the wedding. You can hope they met there, but the show did nothing to indicate that that was what was happening, other than the significance of the date. We don't even get a shot of someone waiting for him or anything. You're welcome to interpret it as them meeting up, but the show makes no effort to actually back that up. I think it's more of an assumption based on years of BL fans having to just imagine happy endings for the guys they were slashing because nothing could be legit gay or happy. I'm okay with an open ending if it's done right, but this was just a flop, like they don't care about the viewers at all. If they were actually meeting, the least they could have done was show him stepping onto the bridge at the end or something significant. Him getting on a plane to Thailand doesn't signify anything beyond him attending Din's sister's wedding.

Like, I'm sorry, that ending was worse than if someone had died. We don't get a final embrace, a kiss, a loving glance. We don't get anything. It just felt tacked on like nothing was resolved. There was so much emphasis on people I didn't care about. Like he couldn't even hold Ken hostage? It was so weird, like their relationship stopped being a thing.

I would have honestly given this a solid 8.0, just based on how much fun it is despite the plot holes and silliness. I was even planning on re-watching this with my best friend. Never mind. Giving it a 6.0 at this point feels generous, unless they release a special episode or something. I'm so disappointed. I just wanted more action BL and they just fucked it up.
