Disappointed....

Some people might not agree, but this turned out to be a disappointing drama for me.

I had been waiting for a new drama worth watching from Park Min Young but like Forecasting Weather, I ended up dropping this one as well. (is it just me or does Park Min Young look haggard and old in this drama?)

The plot is actually absurd. Yes, she has a job acting as wife and girlfriend for men; and by doing so, people she came into contact with are bound to know of her. The INA group angle where she was being groomed to be a chaebol's wife is also weird.

The only moments worth mentioning are her interaction with the ML, Go Kyung Pyo. It would have been nice if the story focused on them more.

Hopefully, she makes a new drama just as interesting as Secretary Kim

Unrealistic but with tearjerking moments....

So, while waiting for the next episodes of Mr. Queen, I found myself watching this on Netflix.

First off, while the story is obviously unrealistic (the being young again part), I loved the family drama angle of the story.
I honestly skipped through the stories of the other characters and just focused on Dae Jeong and Dae Yeong.

Wasn't a fan of Lee Do Hyun in Hotel del Luna but I adored him in 18 again; specially the parts where he still acted on his fatherly instinct while being a classmate of his daughter.

For me, the drama showed the struggles of teenage marriages. And while theirs ended happily, in real life, more often than not, the couple ends up separating.

Not being a Korean, I also wonder if the workplace in Korea is as discriminating as depicted in the series. From my impression of Korea, the country is undoubtedly of an upper class status, but in Kdramas, I find their society conservative in some aspects of life.

Anyway, this drama is not without it's flaws. Like when Dae Yeong's dad recognized him, but did not question as to how he came to be young again. It also did not show nor explain how he got back his old appearance. There was also the matter of his voice. It was obviously different but over the phone, no one even commented on it.

If you are looking for something to fill up the time, this would be a so-so drama to watch for me.

Head aches watching this

Yes, I am at the 14th episode and my head aches with all this traveling through time. The jump from one timeline to another gets too confusing to the point that you start to question something you thought you understood in the first place.

I started watching this because of the promising trailer. The first few episodes were OK but as it progresses, I started disliking almost everyone on the show. Over lapping dimensions, doppelganger, AAARRRGGHHH.....

The last few episodes are too much for my mind's level of understanding LOL. Much as I loved the idea of going back in time to see a loved one, watching this turned out to be torture for me.

I am planning to drop it but I'm almost done so would probably see it through till the end

Thrilling time travel drama

Finally, a time travel series worth watching. This is definitely way way better than ALICE.

The CGI of this series is at par with that of Hollywood. Park Shin Hye is such a versatile actress. She can do rom coms, dramas and action. For me, she is actually a much believable action star than the one in Sweet Home.

Jo Seung Woo as Han Tae Sul is a revelation for me. Prior to watching this, I had never heard of him. Though the personality and character vibe is similar to Zuckerberg, he carried it out really well in my opinion.

The only problem I have with these genres is that, it gets confusing sometimes, when the time overlaps. Nevertheless, I am definitely finishing this series.

Inspiring....

Initially thought that this would be a full blown romance drama. But watching it from ep 1, you can immediately tell that it is more of a story about hope, dreams and friendships.

Kim Tae Ri is definitely one of my favs after seeing her in Mr. Sunshine. As Na Hee Do is the polar opposite of her character then. Her character is very inspiring in that she does not back down from criticisms even though she is wasn;t that good of a fencer at the beginning. The story really shows that you can do anything if you put your mind into it.

Nam Joo Hyuk was perfectly as as Yi Jin. His doeful eyes goes well with his character who faces hardships after a privileged life failed due to the IMF fiasco.

I loved how the drama gave the 5 main leads their own moments to shine in the spotlight. This is an ensemble who works well together indeed.

The 90's vibe is so nostalgic. Seems not so long ago, we were all living the life with pagers and analog phones. Truly, mankind has done great steps in improving technology

All in all, this drama is worth the watch. Definitely worth a try

I am a little bit late in watching K-dramas, having only started last year. I first saw Ji Jin Hee in Designated Survivor and found him really cute; with kind eyes.
My friends had been gushing about this drama and I was initially hesitant to watch it due to the numerous episodes. (Thought it would be dragging unlike the average 16-20 ep of other dramas).
I am definitely glad I watched this!!!! Best drama I've ever seen so far. I loved that the lead stars already had a relationship as they were husband and wife. I believe this makes the story show more depth. It's not the typical lovey-dovey relationship which can sometimes be non-sensical.
I will definitely re-watch this!

could this be the worst kdrama in 2014?

First off, this is my opinion. If any of you liked the drama, then good for you. Just respect the fact that not everyone liked it

This drama made me wonder if Korean elite really lived like that. Seriously, students who rule the school, so much so that the teachers are afraid of offending them??? Be that as it may, the extravagant display of wealth i.e. helicopters, chauffers, butlers, etc... was just a bit too much for me.

I though that this story revolved on bullying but the sub-stories easily overpowered this notion. The FL, while visually pretty, was nothing short of irritating, Blank expression from start to finish... MEH... I hated her character really. The way she avoided her ex BF would make you think that the guy did something MAJORly bad. But loh and behold.... it ended up that she was "protecting" him. Seriously, what kind of storyline was that. Protecting him from the fact that she got pregnant and miscarried? Very lame.... This show was literally children playing grown-ups by making common life problems a BIG issue.

And Hera? From bitchy BFF, it felt rushed how she turned a 360 sympathizing with the FL.

This story has just too many flaws and I wholeheartedly agree with anyone who gave it a low rating.

Not to belittle the efforts of the cast and crew, but this really was such a waste of airtime on Netflix.

3 words......Kang Min Hyuk

What I enjoyed with Celebrity is that the writer totally took something so current, delved into it and gave us a praise worthy drama. Honestly, I find most Kdramas far more interesting than western series. The plots, the lines.... totally different in their approach.

It was very nice that Park Gyu Young is finally being given the attention and projects she deserves. Couldn't imaging any other actress portraying the role of Ari. However, for me, Kang Min Hyuk definitely stole the attention here. What a comeback! Didn't recognize him from his days in The Heirs. He totally oozed charisma and nailed the chaebol role. (currently obsessing over his pictures on IG LOL)

Hoping that both will be together in a nice romcom soon

what was the plot again???

I was initially excited to watch this seeing as how it was in the top 10 of Netflix shows.

The first few episodes were kind of interesting. Wonder if this is how rich people in Korea really live? Find it to be excessive. The location is nice though. Would be nice to live in such a compound.

The cast delivered in terms of performance. However, they cannot help it if the storyline is very poorly done. There were several things the story could have done without.

a. The bunker
b. The group of friends having bible study
c. Mother Emma. Didn't find her role very significant. Thought she would turn out to be the real mother of han Ji young.
d. Secret hobby of han ji young. Han Ji Young ended up ordering the death of one of the fighters. And this action was what led to his downfall. Very shallow storyline

I ended up forwarding it until the ending to see who killed him. Personally, not recommending it. A waste of the talent of the casts.

A warm, fuzzy, feel good drama

When I first saw the plot for this, I had no idea how the story would revolve around the documentary angle. But the previews and stills really got me interested.

May I just say that I love both the leads so much? They make a wonderful pairing! Despite their actual age, they can pass off as high schoolers. Character development from teens to working yuppies is portrayed well. Ung is someone I would love to have as a BF. He is totally devoid of ill intentions and has an easy going personality. Yeon Soo is a strong character who, despite the difficulties in life maintains a strong sense of responsibility.

Except for NJ, I loved everything about this drama. The setting, the cinematography, the narratives, dialogue, and the soundtrack.

If you want to watch something light but full of wonderful characters and emotions, this is definitely a MUST watch.

Beautifully executed

The red Sleeve is probably the best historical drama I have watched so far. From the actors, dialogue, musical score and the setting, this drama is well worth its hype.

While the title speaks of the meaning of the red sleeve, you would think that the story centers solely on the concubine's side. However, it cannot be denied that Lee Jun Ho, had the strongest presence in the whole drama. He is undeniably a very good actor and you cannot imagine any other person taking on the role of San. His diction is superb, each word ringing clearly to the viewer. I watched Wok of Love before (dropped it though) and he was the one actor I wanted to see again. I am looking forward to seeing him in other projects.

Lee Se Young also portrayed her role really well. The manner with which she spoke always felt like she was telling a story. This suited her role, as she was a sort of storyteller during the first few parts of the series. She is also one of my fav actresses, after I saw her In Dr John and Kairos.

The soundtrack itself didn't actually have an impact to me as much as the background instrumentals did. The musical score was well placed in each scene giving off a dreamy, floating vibe.

As to the ending, it was bittersweet. They truly loved each other and even in the afterlife, they were meant to be reunited.

uniquely different

Great series and OST.

Oh Jung Se was such a revelation. After watching him, I cannot imagine any other actor potraying his role. For me, he totally carried this series to success
First time to watch a drama with Seo Ye ji. She's soooo pretty! love her smile.... Can't wait to see more of her

Last saw Kim Soo Hyun when he made a cameo for CLOY. Compared to My love from the Stars, this series showcased his acting chops even more

I also enjoyed how the writer ties up the fairy tales to real life situation. And although, I enjoyed it, wouldn't be rewatching it. Rather, would download their OST

Loved this!

I have actually never seen any of the leads' previous works. But after watching this, they are high up on the list of my favorite couples.

Flower of Evil was very unique. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I am missing the cast already.

The story was well written except for one thing. The amnesia angle at the end. Felt like it didn't need to be written that way at all. It left the story open to some speculations on what happens next.

The characters all did justice to their roles. I loved Eun ha! She was super cute and did really well in delivering her lines. When actors and actresses can make you believe the character they are playing, that is when you know just how good they are.

Another actor that really shone was the one who played Baek hee Song. The looks, the voice, wow! he made the character someone to be scared about

I cannot wait for the next project of Lee Joon Gi. Hoping for a rom com with Park Min Young

Dropped....

To think that it took me to reach the 26th episode before finally giving up on this drama.

The first 2 episodes had shown such promise that I was really looking forward to the subsequent ones. But over time, the storyline just fell flatter than ever. The ML and FL do not have any chemistry with each other; that I would go so far as to say that this is a mismatched pairing. The second leads are also irritating beyond belief!

Added to this the minor stories of the FL's uncle, brother, the in-laws etc...... I just kept on fast forwarding the episodes every time.

Finally came to my senses and dropped it. Sadly, this is the ML's comeback drama and yet, if that is the limit of his acting skills, I doubt I would watch anything of his again. The FL???? well, not the typical face of an FL and seriously, half the story already and her pregnancy is still not showing?????

Lovely drama

This may be a simple story but it gives you the feels. The acting, the visuals and ost all blend into a dream of a drama.

Amazing how the writer can incorporate the love for movies into the story of life. Each character is given the right amount of exposure and they all played their roles very convincingly. I have loved Choi Woo Sik since Our Beloved Summer. He is such a great actor! His grief in this drama, while not shown through any loud crying or whatever, is so palpable. So well suited for his role.

Park Bo Young, as always, she delivers. Her tone of voice, her expressions.... such a talented actress.

Would recommend this drama to anyone who just wants to watch a drama and feel real good.......
