unfortunately i'd already been spoiled about the culprit's identity before i started watching but what surprised…
lol yeah now that you mention it, it is odd for a Kdrama to show a weapon unblurred for once. I think it's because it is an important detail in the story as the director kept on emphasizing it in scenes and how it was a floral knife to show that the cases were by the same culprit.
Lee Chang Joon reminds me of Professor Snape from the HP series. those types of characters always steal the show for me. those are my favorite characters In their respective realms.
Just wondering... but wasn't there a scene in which HSM got physically assaulted in his home? I couldn't find…
hmm I just went through the entire drama again and there is no such scene. I think you mean the time he had an episode of pain from his ears or head and then collapsed in his living room holding a water bottle? that also happened again in another scene when he was outside too.
I just rewatched it again (In 2 days) to freshen up my memory on the show before season 2 airs, and dare I say: it is even better now that I've seen it for the second time. I realized that many details and nuances flew over my head when I watched it the first time as I was lost in the dialogue a bit. its a totally different experience to watch it when you already know the full story. I love how the main theme of the story is to show how everyone is morally grey and how dichotomous we are, that's the biggest take-away from this drama and they absolutely nailed the execution.
KGE is actually a really good actor if you've watched her movies. I noticed that she comes off annoying in her dramas; its obviously due to the character she's playing and the writing she's given so don't hate on her too much.
This drama makes simple thing seem more trivial than they actually are , which is bit annoying . On the other…
you mean it makes trivial things seem less simple than they are? I get you though, certain happenings were made to appear over-dramatic. but maybe that was the point of the drama? since its about teachers in their environment; certain things are big deal to them in their perspective.
its so infuriating how the other temps are passively bullying haneul! is bullying culture that prominent in SK?! I knew bullying was prevalent in schools because of students but I never imagined teachers (who are supposed to prevent bullying) participate in their own form of bullying...
guys I'm stuck at ep 20 and I think ill drop.. it got super boring ever since they entered the palace. will it get better? im literally pushing myself to finish it, though I really enjoyed the first half of the drama.
were you sleeping on Nokdu flower?! that sageuk really relieved my 3 year long yearning for a good sageuk
LOL. I'm also watching the tale of Nokdu and I'm really enjoying it. its not the type of sageuk your looking for though as you said. you should totally get back to Nokdu flower !
okay, so I got a bit lost on the stance of each character and what was going on, ill try to write what I know…
Seon ho and Hwi's friendship got severed due to intentional/unintentional (?) circumstances on Seon ho's part. NSH is using hwi's sister (while protecting her at the same time) to use and manipulate hwi (while using his sister to protect him as well ?)
NSH and his father are on the king Lee Seung Gye's side and are trying to climb up the ladder and prove their loyalty to the king (NSH might have other intentions?)
LBW is posing as a threat to his father and the throne, expresses his right to be crown prince, assembles/has his own private army which intimidates the king and his supporters. NSH plots to (kill?) LBW so he uses Hwi to get closer to him.
what id really appreciate is if someone can explain to me how HHJ is involved in all of this? seems like I wasn't paying enough attention to her character and lost track of what exactly lead to her involvement and what her current status is?
the part about Hwi's father and how he is involved in everything is still unclear. HHJ's past is also unclear yet.
