God, this show is a miserable watch, which is crazy considering the title, "Cutie Pie". There's nothing 'cute' about this series besides Nunew and Nat's baby faces.

Now that it's entirely done, I don't understand why Lian was so needlessly cruel to someone he "loves". He took responsibility for it and apologized but honestly their relationship is between a manipulative person who relishes in the pain of his partner, and someone who was groomed to love him from birth. Kuea also has such cripplingly low self-esteem he should probably be seeing a therapist.

There's no in-text reason for Lian to have kept the fact that he knew about Kirin and Kuea's interests from Kuea for so long. He only seems to have done it for his own amusement which is what makes him cruel and odd to me. He even directly said it was for fun a couple of episodes ago.

The character motivations don't match the cruel actions, they just act cruel and hide things for plot convenience and then claim that it was "because of love" when the show needs a makeout session, and the viewers are expected to believe them.

Between the two redemptive "I promise not to lie anymore" speeches, I liked Yi's speech to Kon Diao on the couch more than Lian talking out of his ass, because it was coupled with the flashback of Diao's toxic controlling father. Diao's father made Yi's actions understandable.

I'm still lost as to why Lian continued to lie to Kuea after having sex with him besides "It was fun" and "I like causing drama".

Sadly, I think it's just the dog bite. Ludicrous as that is.
What makes it worse (for me) is that they honestly could have sold the dog trauma if they cast a big scary-looking dog, but the dog in the flashback looked friendly and cute!?

As a gay man, I understand people who got furious when talking about who's the top and bottom in a BL show because…
"there is nothing DISGUSTING about knowing your "ROLE" in a sexual activity which is part of our normal lives.
( I'm a TOP and will never date a fellow top because sex is not so enjoyable if you are both tops)"

I love this because it's true. Whenever I have first dates with women we always share our position (top/bottom/switch) quickly to avoid wasting each other's time lmao. I've been on more than one date where we both ended up being bottoms, or there was some other sexual incompatibility. It's always an open and honest conversation because there's nothing disgusting or gross about our normal sex lives.

Preach. The fact that straight girl activists from Twitter think that they have the right to speak on gay sexual dynamics and denigrate them as "problematic" and even "DISGUSTING" is mind boggling to me. Where do they get the audacity? In the real world, that's literally just being homophobic and inserting yourself into a conversation and community that has nothing to do with you.

If you're not having gay sex then why do you have an opinion on gay sex positions? I feel like these girls think that because they watch BL they have authority in the community, when they actually don't know anything real.

These girls watch graphic gay sex in BL dramas but think talking about gay sex is gross and disgusting lmao. There's a word for that outside of Twitter, I think it rhymes with lomophobic?

Okay, so you're not even part of the community since you're citing your gay friends. And you think that gay people IRL are the same thing as gay fictional characters. That's all I needed to know, thanks lmao.

EDIT: Actually I need to ask because I'm really curious. Why do you as a straight girl think you have any authority to speak over a lesbian on gay sexual identity politics? Because you watch BL dramas? It's the audacity for me because you never see other groups pushing themselves into other communities like this. Being a straight girl who mostly consumes mlm content doesn't make you gay.

...they're fictional characters that aren't real!? What are you talking about re: privacy lmao do you think Lian and Kuea are going to read the comment section?

And gay people want to know whether people are tops, bottoms, or switches because gay sex is normal. It's not shameful or dirty to talk about. If you are queer, I implore you to enter some REAL LGBTQ SPACES IRL and talk to real gay people instead of getting your politics from 18-22 year old straight girls on BL Twitter.

You do realize that top, bottom, and switch are real sexual positions that gay people use in real life, right? As a practicing lesbian it’s very funny seeing baby internet gays and well meaning straight girls think it’s problematic to ask.

I understand where you're coming from but this isn't Kpop.

I also think it's a stretch to claim that Zee is unhappy with his career choices just because we don't like them. He's a grown man and I think it's a slippery slope to infantilize him and act like we know better and that he's secretly trapped in some strict slave contract. There's nothing to indicate that.

He obviously likes his coworkers and he does his job with a smile, so unless he gives us a reason to suspect he hates his work and he wants out of his contract, we should take him at face value. Don't create narratives that have no basis in reality just because Cutie Pie isn't a great project.

I agree with you tbh but I'll play devil's advocate and say all these actors know what they're signing up for. Zee in particular has been with Domundi since 2016 and already did the fanservice game with Saint. He's also 29 years old. If he doesn't know that maybe it's time to adjust a bit, then he's making an active career choice. We can wish better for him, but his choices are his choices.

- Why did Lian say he doesn't love Kuea when he's apparently been plotting on him since he was a child? Wouldn't it be more conducive to be sweet to him, instead of telling him he looks like a creepy doll? His actions don't make sense.
- Why does Diao live at Yi's house?
- Why does Yi feel so indebted to Diao? Why does he protect him?
- Why won't Yi have a normal conversation with Diao?
- Why did Kuea make such a big deal about hiding his "badass personality" from Lian in the beginning when he actually has the personality of a 13-year-old girl?
- Why are the third couple included at all when the student storyline has no impact on the main characters and wasn't included in the novel?
- Why is the second couple included at all when they won't let them have a conversation? If they wanted to save their plot for Naughty Babe, I wish they hadn't been included at all because their scenes in particular make no sense.

This entire show is a confusing mess and I'm convinced it's being written by five monkeys in a trench coat that think fanservice and cinematography are all that they need to make a show. They should have started with a script!

Still very curious how Diao supposedly lost his memory and what Hia Yi had to do with it. I hope it comes out…
When they were kids, Yi’s pet tiger got loose and attacked Diao. Yi shot the tiger and the blood got all over Diao, which traumatized him enough to forget the incident. After it happened Yi’s family promised to pay for Diao’s schooling abroad and take care of him for the rest of his life, as compensation for the incident. Yi and Diao were officially engaged when Diao came back to Thailand at 18, as part of the deal. The truth is that Yi’s dad and Yi just adore Diao so much that they wanted to remove him from his toxic family (which we kinda got a hint of with Diao’s Dad insulting Yi on their call). That’s why Yi is so overprotective and why he jumped between the dog and Diao.

Got bored with EP9. 🤒Two weeks of waiting and this? No ways! 😵
The fact that it was posted after a 2 week break makes it worse.

Zee and Nunew are a good looking couple and kisses are great, but watching them have dinner and makeout for an hour while the storyline dies in a ditch outside is not entertainment.

Yi and Kon Diao's tense scenes were the most interesting to me because you're just wondering: what the hell is going on? Why does Kon Diao's Dad hate Yi so much? CAN THESE PEOPLE TALK TO EACH OTHER!? And of course, being so aggravated with Yi that you want him to come out and explain everything to Kon Diao or just for SOME kind of meaningful confrontation between them.

Nope, we need to include 1001 makeout scenes. I'm gay and I love fluff, sex, and romance, but lbr—the LianKuea canoodling should have been cut a bit to develop Yi and Diao's storyline. We're going into Episode 10 and it's the only thing I have any remaining interest in and the only storyline that is still shrouded in mystery. Maybe they're saving it for Naughty Babe, but I don't care, they were included in this series so please explain wtf is going on!

no one want them to have 'sexy makeout sessions' lolkiss was just super awkward and it looked like their lips…
Except it wasn’t awkward at all. Their lips touched and the kiss was sweet and appropriate for their ages and for Asian dramas. We all know why people are having OTT reactions. They think if Bright and Tu are awkward while ACTING then BrightWin must be real 🤪 Like, come on lmao.

And if the kiss really was the worst thing since canned cheese according to bitter BrightWin shippers then isn’t that on brand for Bright? Ain’t any different from 2gether!

It's also very weird that BL shippers are in these comments laughing at "the hets" and Tu because Thyme and Gorya didn't have a "steamy, sexy kiss".

Why do you want to see teenagers have sexy makeout sessions so badly? And why do you think that adds any legitimacy to your ship that has nothing to do with this series? You're a delusional pervert if you think an actor's work has any correlation with their IRL sexuality or relationships.

The latest episode felt like filler to me because they shoved both Kavin/Kaning and Thyme/Gorya getting together into one episode. They each should have been given their own episodes. Because of the limited screentime it felt like Kavin was just settling for Kaning and Mona was his true love—and I've been waiting for Kavin and Kaning to get together since the beginning! Kaning felt like sloppy seconds which is lame.

On Thyma and Gorya: the first kiss was sweet. I need all the salty BrightWin fans to evacuate the comment section before I hurt their feelings lmao because it's not like Bright was kissing Win well either. He was also acting during both of these kisses. Please put your phones down and get a grip.

On the series as a whole: It feels like things are coming to an underwhelming slow stop instead of an exciting finale. We'll see how the last 3 episodes are, but I've been consistently underwhelmed the last few weeks. I think it's because they overused Gorya getting assaulted, Gorya's friends all turning out to be evil, and repetitive conflicts between Thyme and Gorya. After the 100th time Gorya's getting slapped around by the student body and screaming at Thyme for being a bad person, you just stop caring. That worked against the series as it went on because we knew what to expect.

remember it's a Thai BL. From watching countess Thai BLs husband and wife is a Thai thing.
I'm glad that you mentioned sapphic relationships because that's the POV I'm speaking from. In sapphic communities people think masc/femme relationships are "heteronormative" and "regressive" so all lesbian representation in the media is two skinny femmes with long hair and skirts. Masc lesbians are invisible. I can't even name 2 masc/femme couples in media.

Apply this same logic to gay media and you understand why I don't agree that husband/wife labels need to be eradicated because they "represent stereotypes". Stereotypes exist because there are real people that they're based on. I'm not saying every BL drama should have husband/wife labels, but I also don't believe they're this horrible regressive stereotypical thing that shouldn't exist on TV just because it makes non-Thai people uncomfortable.
