An omnibus of 8 women-centered stories (and their chairs). Some of them were bizarre, some others touching, a few were dark and twisted, or symbolic and confusing, but this unorthodox approach was definitely gripping and challenging. Definitely not for everyone...
Beautifully crafted thriller, with a solid web of fine threads of twists, cliffhangers and revelations during the fascinating journey to revenge of Kim Yo Han, a wrongfully accused judicial trainee. Though the story may be a bit complicated and too dark and violent for some people, it draw me in since episode one. Kudos to Kang Ha Neul's superb performance and transformation - he definitely knows how to pick intriguing projects!
I think none of the movie adaptations can beat the drama with Kuroki Haru's superb performance, but, like "Mio's Cookbook", it was an enjoyable culinary and historical ride.

An entertaining three women show, in a makjang chaebol revenge setting. A promising premise that, with a more thorough script combing, would have been something more memorable.
Started strong and intriguing but somewhere in the middle became repetitive and draggy. Perhaps trying to include so many different genres wasn't a good idea... Too much crying, too many separations and reconciliations, too much back and forth. But, despite its flaws it had some really good moments and the cast did a good job.
Unfortunately not as good as its prequel... That uniquely bizarre, zany feeling and the character development were barely present in this one. But, the actors' improvisations, synergy and bonding were clearly visible and praiseworthy!
Only for avid fans of Seo Hyun Jin! Her powerful, elegant performance and her controversial persona was the best part of this average legal-revenge drama. And, I must admit that I found her chemistry with the main antagonist played by veteran Heo Joon Ho so much better than that with her current or ex partner...
A rare gem! Deep, desperate, painfully personal, hauntingly beautiful. Full of loud silences, unbearable loneliness, raw emotions and so much love wanting to be given...
Kim Bo Ra’s directorial debut is a tender, sincere and wholesome coming-of-age short film, full of heart and simplicity and a nuanced performance from child actress Hwang Jeongone. Highly recommended.
A compelling but very peculiar story about a challenging love story between two tortured social outcasts in a presentation full of parasite allegories and strong social commentaries on mental health issues, isolation, lack of bonding and love. This movie wouldn't be so memorable and thought-provoking without Komatsu Nana and Hayashi Kento, whose performances, as a scopophobic and a germophobic person respectively, were exemplary, enriched with an atmospheric cinematography and musical score.
An atmospheric and engaging psychological thriller, with a well-woven story enriched with intriguing plot-twists and elements of mystery and horror, as well as a scathing underlying social commentary on the place of modern Korean women. Captivating performances from all three main leads and especially from Chun Woo Hee, who portrayed her multilayered and demanding character flawlessly.
A subtle and delicate romance story, with a slow pace and many flashbacks that may be a bit confusing sometimes. A pleasure to see all four talented actors so young, at the beginning of their careers :)
Delicate and very emotional story of the turmoils and strong bonding of a found family. The biggest asset of this movie is veteran actress Youn Yuh Jung and her solid performance, full of depth and grace, as well as the fantastic cinematography, full of light, colours and the breathtaking beauty of Jeju island.
