What a fascinating concept and a superb cast choice! 👍 Most of my faves are included 🥰 Now I really wish some Japanese directors / writers/ producers read your exemplary article and make it real... 🎥 I'm sure it'll be as funny and exciting as the original was (at least for all of us who watched it as kids XD) Good job, dear friend!!!
I haven't realised that some of my most fave j-titles are the works of this talented writer! Thanks a lot for this informative, well-crafted article :)
A simple but innovative story where little girls can dream their ideal older brothers and get them! Fast-paced, funny, with vivid, surrealistic colouring and setting, Though I found it really awkward in the beginning and thought that the way it explored some brother-sister and family stereotypes was too light and romanticised, I couldn't help but keep on watching looking forward to know what's going to happen next, mainly because of the two main characters: Miko and Toi were adorable and so cute together :)
Cozy, feel-good, soothing and very heart-warming, this little gem was a breath of fresh air among all the angsty, full of cliches autumn dramas. It almost feels as if I watched a slice-of-life j-drama, if you know what I mean ^^ A great watch, with every episode being a treat to the soul, and not only for coffee lovers like me!
A noir road movie, with the cinematography, music and aesthetic atmosphere being its strongest points, while the quiet slow-paced story and the fragmented narration were the weakest elements. Of course, Tsumabuki Satoshi is always a pleasure to watch!
A brilliant dramedy about miscommunicating neighbors, social intolerance, on-line media trials and ‘cancel culture’, as well as how important is viewing situations under different perspectives and taking into account that, most probably, there is an underlying reasoning for every action and behaviour.
Confusing non-linear narrative, balancing between reality and imagination, and messy editing took away some of the points that could have made this film a really good one. But the way some really heavy topics were addressed in this film (such as transgender people, runaway outcasts, suicide, anorexia, mental illness), as well as the exceptional performance of Koo Kyo Hwan made this a memorable watching experience.
A delicate and subtle, silent and aesthetic, slow-burn character study about self-discovery, gender identity, sexuality, finding one's self and be true to it.
I'll watch anything with Yoo Ah In! He is, IMO, the best actor Korea has. So you are not considered shallow for…
What I like most about him is that he challenges himself with different things every time. He has never been typecasted like so many other successful actors :)
I'd really love to read more 'spontaneous' articles like these!
Now the theme song is stuck in my head... 🤣

For me, these are his best performances!
You should watch "Voice of Silence" while waiting ^^
