Dark, edgy and very emotional, centered around bullying and abuse on the one hand, heroism and empathy on the other, this teenage-thriller film is a suspenseful, gripping study of the harrowing depths of our society.
A coming-of-age summer road-trip adventure of four high school girls who gradually start forming a stronger bond through exchanging memories, likes, desires and fears, discovering mutual points of interest on how they imagine their future and how they see the world around them.
A charming coming-of-age movie full of summer, youth, music and delicious food. With a comforting, reassuring vibe: it's okay not growing up fast, while trying and embracing new ideas and goals in life.
A heartwarming, fun and very cute rom-com, perfect for a summer watch! A great couple of two beautiful and talented people, interesting realistic characters and stories, yummy food!
Bleak, frustrating and overwhelming social commentary and exploration of suppressed feelings, thoughts and actions.
- I want to. But if I try, for some reason, the words don't come out. Because I'm Japanese? I'm crying on the inside. But on the outside, no tears come out.
- All my life... I've never... been able to say what I feel!
Dark and icy cold, shocking, uncomfortable but undeniably powerful, engaging and though-provoking. Very difficult to like, but also very difficult to forget. And that's why I found it brilliant...
For a 17 years old production, with all possible clichés (and I literally mean all the cliches one can think of xD) and the proper makjang, melo and fluff doses, this classic kdrama was still entertaining to watch, mainly due to its two wonderful MLs, Lee Dong Gun and especially Park Shin Yang :)
"April Story" is a heartwarming coming of age, spring love story in 67 minutes full of nostalgia, innocence, cuteness and optimism. With a wonderful Takako Matsu depicting a shy, introvert, adorkable girl who moves to the city to attend Uni in the beginning of her first steps into adulthood, with wonderful directing and cinematography, this little gem was a breath of fresh air under a sakura blossom tree :)
Quiet, subdued and intimately emotional coming-of-age story centered around Hana, a girl who just became a young adult living in a foster home, full of emotional scars, a haunting past and an uncertain future. Delicate cinematography and a great performance from the young and talented Ogawa Miyu.
Refreshingly unique romcom that tackles in a very quirky way what it means to be normal. But, what is "normal" anyway?
'Behaving like a normal person in society makes it hard to breath. There are so many rules, the meaning of which I don't understand.'
'Is this "normal" you speak of just an excuse for giving up? Don't just say "This is normal". Decide for yourself! Normal can piss off. You have absolutely no reason to be tied to that.'
A heart-warming slice of life drama that leaves you in a feel-good mood, just like the feeling after returning to your hometown and your childhood memories. Not flawless, but the atmosphere, the music and some of the stories were worth watching.
A story of loss, grief, reconciliation and acceptance based on the extremely heavy subject of suicide and the unique, unpredictable ways those who are left behind choose to cope with it.
Started watching this for Shin Dong Wook and he didn't disappoint! So young and cute ^^ Though a 15 yo drama, it was entertaining, with not many annoying characters or cliches, with a great OST and a greater ML :)
With this intriguing article, this story and cast, I am definitely tempted to watch any possible j-adaptation! [but I would try anything you recommend, either way!!!]
