I started watching this 20 yo drama out of curiosity, just to see some of my favorite Korean actors and actresses at the very beginning of their acting careers (btw, it's incredible how little they have physically aged in two decades!) and I was so pleasantly surprised by it! Well-written, with a strong cast, great chemistry and excellent acting - much better and more intriguing than many modern dramas that repeat and recycle the same old cliches over and over... And, most of all, I really enjoyed Jang Hyuk's rebellious youth, struggles and character growth
Enjoyable for a family with kids movie-night, otherwise the plot may seem too predictable and the humor too childish... The best thing was the 'bromance' between Tae Joo and Man Shik!
I still can't believe that Jeong Ji So, who plays the mysterious & eerie Baek So Jin and is only 20 yo, is the most intriguing and captivating character, even though I really like Sung Dong Il & Uhm Ji Won! She got my attention in "Parasite", but here she really proves her talent. Some great things are ahead for her:)
I was looking forward to this article and it turned out to be even better than I expected! Thanks for all your research and efforts! Wonderful outcome ♡
One of the most refreshingly zany Police-Forensics-Investigation dramas I've ever watched! Stellar cast and cameos and Kimura Takuya was a pleasure to watch, as always!
Excellent depiction of real life struggles of disabled people, through the delicately tough approach of an optimistic, sweet Yuma and her journey to self discovery and independence.
A relaxing and entertaining light comedy-action drama with a wonderful sismance. Haruka Ayase, Ryoko Hirosue and Tsubasa Honda had excellent chemistry and the scenes with their trio were always a pleasure to watch :)
The movie is well-written and beautifully shot, with magnificent scenery, many poignant moments and top-notch performances from Kim Young Ok, Kim Sae Ron and Kim Hyang Gi. Even without featuring explicit scenes, KSR and KHG successfully managed to depict the heart-wrenching agony and pain suffered by the comfort girls, as well as their friendship, support and courage.
Old-fashioned kdrama with all the well-known cliches, angst, drama and nostalgia... The story is not unique, but it is well-written, compelling and, unlike many dramas of its era, doesn't feel dated and has that feeling of familiarity and comfort! And I have to say that young Yoon Kye Sang is so handsome and talented!
I only started it for Kimutaku and didn't really have any great expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by this simple yet captivating character-driven story! Excellent cast, interesting characters, beautiful dishes, decent rivalry and Kimura Takuya at his best!
Slow-paced, with a melancholic, nostalgic filming style, "Heartbreak Library" is a decent story with not too much hassle and angst, but it left me with the impression that something was missing... something failed to be delivered... probably because the poster is so misleading!
