I envy you having your daughters to enjoy dramas with. :)
Haha! I wish we had the same taste in dramas... then we would have watched more dramas together :) not that I'm complaining... we've watched quite a few!
"Butterfly Ship" was a wonderful, atmospheric, silent, soothing yet intense journey of a 'challenged' love and a novel, with equally elegant performances from both leads (8,5/10). "Us and Them" was a realistic, bittersweet, painfully beautiful love story... Colourless and colourful contrast was brilliant! (9/10) Your article was once again beautiful and your choices great ❤
What a wonderful movie, what a wonderful grandma! This old lady, who wasn't even an actress, gave a really amazing performance! Her stoic reactions towards the spoiled brat grandchild of hers, whose moods were constantly followed by temper tantrums, were so on point - like a veteran actress would have done! Her silent, unconditional love finally softened his hard heart, giving a very touching and memorable separation scene... A definite must-watch :)
Intriguing stories, that are heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time, beautiful cinematography, wonderful osts and a couple that starts forming a strong lovely bonding!
A subtle, emotional family story that deals delicately with the issues of gender, identity, sexuality and the problems and struggles related to them, such as homophobic bullying, social and legal discrimination and prejudice. Impressive performances from Ikuta Toma and Rinka Kakihara, picturesque and 'quiet' cinematography.
Although it's a 16 yrs old drama, it doesn't feel so much dated, mainly because it was a big scale production (it was filmed in Jeju Island, Grand Canyon and Las Vegas), had an intriguing, well-written story with interesting characters, and Song Hye Kyo & Lee Byung Hun couple had amazing chemistry. Perhaps 24 eps were a bit too much and some side stories could have been omitted, but overal it's worth a try!
The most refreshing, zany drama of this year! Totally unpredictable plot, a hilarious and touching ride from beginning to end! Kim Byung Chul really did a fantastic job, noone else could have done, in this :)
A drama heavy on politics was never my thing, therefore I was very hesitant to watch this, but after reading so many positive comments on the feeds, I decided to give it a try. Solid, consistent, suspenseful story that kept me hooked till the last minute and never got me bored, high quality production and cinematography, intriguing dialogues and verbal battles among the characters trying to justify their choices and actions, fascinating character growth and team bonding, top-notch acting, especially from our JJH president! All the above made "Designated Survivor 69 Days" one of the best dramas of 2019 :)
A unique, thought-provoking story, a brilliantly balanced mixture of fiction and drama, with great cinematography and an amazing performance from a 14 yrs old actress!
Ikuta Toma and his mannerisms and banters were flawless!
I might try some of these for my daughters :)
