The vast majority of historical C-dramas are riddled with things that make no sense. I’m still waiting for the obligatory falling-off-a-cliff scene :) To enjoy these dramas, you really have to suspend disbelief completely and simply go along for the ride.

I’ve now reached the stage where I can genuinely enjoy all the inconsistencies and laugh at them as we go along. In fact, they have become part of the fun and really add to my enjoyment of these shows.

As far as I am concerned this was just perfect! Started strong and stayed strong all the way through with lots of ideas off the beaten track.

If you want to go one step further consider submit custom images to go with the different episodes :)

On episode 20. Still excellent in every respect as far as I am concerned. What on Earth made people rate this drama low from the start? Is there some silly must-hate at work here that I am not aware of?

Hmm, simple English with some flaws in terms of punctuation, capitalisation, grammar and making sense in general? :)

Glad that it's so low? I am on episode 10 and so far it's way, way better than 7.9.

Binged the last four episodes yesterday/this morning. What an amazing show with so many insane rewatchable scenes!

The subtitles are perfectly fine. Complain to your pirate site about messed up subtitles :(

Same here, slightly above 8.5 where it's at at the moment but I give it a 10 to compensate for the haters.

Well, there is a lot of hate to compensate for :) Also, if I dislike something I just drop it and don't give a rating based on the few episodes that I've watched. Also, my choices for what to watch are based on the ratings materialising on Mydramalist more than halfway into a show: Anything above 8 is generally worth watching, anything below you take a gamble and so I generally don't even start watching. And so yes, I do give mostly 8s, 9s and 10s.

Yes, I am that bad :) Nice bad, not nasty bad.

rahiyariha gives this a 2 overall and says "I am not questioning IU's acting as that's her character but definitely questioning her drama choice after When life gives you a tangerine." And so acting/cast deserves a 3?

What's wrong with these people?
Of course, at this point the only thing left to do is to give this drama a 10/10 to compensate for this nonsense. (Not that I think it's a 10, not at all, but it most definitely is not a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7!)

Really enjoying this one a lot. Ticks all the boxes for me. Glad that the rating is finally moving into reasonable territory. The other two dramas I am watching and enjoying at the moment are Royal Nemesis and Perfect Crown.

Just the usual fools at work who relish in bringing down the ratings by giving 1/10s early on.

Just finished the second episode. Absolutely hilarious. Now we just need a few people rate this as a 10/10 to compensate for the usual suspects giving this a 1/10 a few minutes in :)

Actually I feel a bit sorry for everyone. The father is the source of all the problems in this family.

Personally, I am very happy with the pace.
