Why is the rating so low? It is barely few episodes in
Only 138 ratings. Mine was a 9, so probably a couple of 1s by the usual suspects.

Can anyone recommend any other cdramas please? Not necessarily similar to POJ per se, I'm just looking for something…
You cannot go wrong with Are you the one, Story of YangXi Palace, the Double, Coroners Diary, Under the Power, The Romance of Tiger and Rose, Eternal Love, Blossoms in Adversity, Ever Night, Wonderland of Love, The Legend of Shen Li, The long Ballad, the princess Wei Young, The rebel princess, The story of Ming lan. Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace ...

Why?
True, but if we follow through systematically on this we'd have a couple hundred cdramas with the same title.

what a shit happy ending. Wei Yan..did he really have to die? really? “a mother of two” what bullshit is this…
What’s with the profanity? Don’t you realise that nobody who uses this kind of foul language is taken seriously around here?

What???!!! Are we watching the same drama? 😆😅🤣😂
And the reason why this person says what they say may be hinted at by their chosen name here on myDramalist: Dilrabaloveu. Sigh :( I just cannot understand why people must hate on every actor/actress outside their circle of favourites. I loved PoJ and I am currently enjoying Dilraba in Love beyond the grave and I am looking forward to Bai Lu's next drama, etc. I've never dissed any actor/actress and I never will.

stupid female lead all brawn no brain
I find it hard to imagine what is going on in someone’s mind to make such a nasty comment. It suggests a great deal of anger and bitterness. Very sad.

Just finished chapter 15 and am considering dropping - I am not enjoying the void at all and their relationship…
Do what I did and just jump to where they are back in the real world. The story seems to be back on track there. Still enjoying the drama this way :) I may go back to the skipped bits later.

The time in the void was just way too long. There were some development, but it was kinda pointless. Drama went…
I also had enough of the void at some point and simply skipped a couple of episodes. Now back in the real world the story appears to be back on track again. Overall still enjoying the drama immensely and will get back to the skipped bits in a while.

This is my first time watching Chen Feiyu or Arthur Chen in a drama, and I am very fond of him. Its not about…
Dilraba and Arthur make a fantastic couple in this drama. The only thing that really put me off at the beginning was Arthur’s RIDICULOUS hairstyle :( Luckily I persisted, just finished watching ep 25 and cannot wait for the next episode to come out :)

I was such a fan of PoJ until episode 26. After that, it became so anticlimactic and unevenly paced, ending in…
"she always approached him in the name of escape thats what u call romanticization of abuse" What sort of statement is this? The show clearly frames those moments as part of her desperation and lack of options, not as something inherently healthy or ideal.

"The y were literally romanticicing abuse". We clearly watched two different dramas. What I watched was one particular kind of abuse alongside other kinds abuse and NOTHING else. The abuser and the abused happened to also be very attractive individuals and out of context they did "look good together". However, if anybody interpreted what is going on there as anything but abuse, that's really their problem.

Unreality check (Is this your first cdrama? Did you really watch this drama at all?): Interesting what you single out as ridiculous. As far as I can tell none of it is any more ridiculous than all the hundreds of things that are common place in historical cdramas in general (e.g. in EVERY historical cdrama at least one person drops off a cliff and the worst that can happen to them is that they lose their memory for a bit, moons are always full moons, even the beggars have immaculate make-up, etc.). Changyue defeating General Changxin is ridiculous? By the time this happens it's well-established that Changyue is physically incredibly strong, has practised martial arts forever, is a martial art prodigy, kills things on a daily basis, has killed a few professional killers before, General Changxin has no idea who he is facing and clearly underestimates her from the beginning, etc. "how much time was given to toxic side couple’s romance (ugh!)" That was NOT romance that was abuse and the time spent on this part of the story was to establish a villain. Seriously!

Have not watched anything with Dilraba in it of quite a while. A couple of episodes into this one I have to say that I love her portrayal of this witchlike character!
