I think they mean Su E Huang, who is played by Xuan Lu. She appears in these newer episodes and is considered the second female lead.

In comparison to recent hits from her peers like Liu ShiShi (A Journey to Love) or Zhao LiYing (Legend of Shen Li), Yang Mi does less (complicated) fight scenes where it involves wire work. it does take away from her character slightly, but not a dealbreaker. the cgi here is actually pretty good.

The wedding gets cancelled after ShenLi's battle with FuSheng over the East Sea, so roughly around 23,24,25? I don't remember exactly but she's presumed dead after the battle so the realms agree to cancel the wedding. ShenLi is informed of this by XingZhi in episode 29.

There are a lot of sweet moments between the leads, but I guess you can say they officially got together in episode 31 (which is after the infamous cave scene and they go back to the Heavenly Realm and XZ declares his love for her in front of them all). But before that, they pretty much are together and there are many sweet scenes of the leads before episode 31 as you watch them fall in love with each other.

Ah no! The main leads used different handles; you’re right the FL is twisted donut and Lin Yi (ML) is campus hunk. ML’s friends use the “900 million” handles because they play in a group. ML mentions it at episode 12. It was so funny hearing that and knowing it must be a reference to LGX because that’s his known nickname in the entertainment industry.

Have you watched Everyone Loves Me with Lin Yi? In that show, the mains are gamers and two of them used the nickname / gaming handle of “900 million girls dream” and “900 million boys dream” and I thought that was such a funny reference to LGX. I think LGX and Lin Yi are both from dongbei.

It's a pretty obscure reference but the parrot apparently does (did?) serve a purpose - it perhaps didn't translate very well on screen. This was explained to me by some novel readers:

When XZ saw the parrot, it reminded him of all the times in the mortal realm when he was XY and how he played tricks on ShenLi in her "chicken form" (eg. pushing her into the water, setting a formation that kept her in her chicken form for longer, etc). In the novel, it was mentioned that that was the most degrading time of ShenLi's life. So that's why before XZ muted the parrot, he said something along the lines of "I did this to you"; it was a reference of his regret for having messed around with ShenLi so much when she was a chicken.

Then when ShenLi finally figured out a spell was placed on the parrot and she unmuted it and it said it was XZ that placed a spell on it, ShenLi said something along the lines of "So XZ does remember everything" - confirming to her that XZ = XY and he remembers their time together in the mortal realm.

On a separate note, I think the bird just didn't translate well into a joke. I highly doubt it was abused since 1) it's such a spoiled, mouthy bird (a truly mean owner would not have such a spoiled, bold lil parrot) and 2) one of the first things that ShenLi asked her Master about when she returned to the Immortal Realm was if she can have her parrot back.
