I watched parallel world awhile ago, and it become my favorite C drama of all time. read the novel, but I lost interest after few chapters, and decided to read the author other novel ( this Cdrama) I remember how locked in I was while reading it. the pace, the plot, the characters, the eerie feeling I got while reading it. and found out it'll have a live action Cdrama. I was excited but didn't expect much, cause I just know audience or even the production won't even give it a chance for it to develop to as good as the novel. didn't care enough when will this drama be aired and all. I found out through tiktok and saw some clips of this, I thought I might give a try. IM NOT REGRETING IT LIKE AT ALL😭 😭😭
they have more depths here more than I feel like the novel had. I found it hard for me to sympathize with yi wansan and Hong sha in the novel, but the act so well in here to the point where I feeelll so bad for them. and I love how their bond is so much genuine in here than in novel, imo. Chubby he supposed to be the comedic relief, but I find his character is relatable, they usually make this type of character to be annoying and useless, but he is just as smart as everyone else.
MD AND LR😍😍😍 I can't with them, they are so lovely I have an urge to bear hug them till they can't breathe LMAO. I think LR in this drama is so much more empathetic with black MD personality, his feelings for MD also seem more sincere and genuine than in the novel was. tho black MD is supposed to be aggressive and mean, the way she explains things to LR I can sense some remorse and it was infact black MD self defense mechanism, to protect herself to see if LR or maybe someone would still accept her if she is not sweet or bubbly like white MD is ( it's only a theory idk if it's true, but it's just how I see it) and LR rage for what happened to MD, was very heart wrenching, his desperateness to save her and all😭 black MD white MD, they still have that SIZZLING CHEMISTRY WITH LR😭😭😭😭😔
and I love how none of these characters are damsel in distress, they surely need help sometimes but never helpless.
Eh? Weird, I thought it was a fun ride but then I'm here with 7.9 rating. I'm so confused.. character wise and plot wise so far aren't bad, like at all. so what's up with the rating???? mind you I am not a big fan of SWL, cause he can't act like decades ago LMAOO but after bionic life I think he improves, as for LYC I've seen her several movies she was ok, she has all the chemistry with her partner, tho most of her dramas aren't my cup of tea. but this one is good??? Most couples in dramas always tend to lose that spark we've seen on the first 10 eps. But even up untill it ends, they still have that sizzling chemistry between them
Their love are so genuine, you can feel it even from the screen. their kisses, their hugs, their daily conversation, their connection in general weren't forced or icky. You can see how their face lights up whenever they're together. I'm gonna miss them, I feel so empty after it ended few hours ago😔 what am I supposed to do now?????
today's eps just mean so much to me. guo ling scene, hospital scene, sleepwalking flashback, punching bag sore loser uncle scene,etc. LOVE!LOVE! LOVE THEM ALL!
STFUUU, I kept saying I love that eps or this eps. I'll say it again, TODAY EPS IS UNMATCHED! I don't think I can pick favorites when it comes to tff. I never thought I would love some changes in a novel adaptation drama. but tff done it so well. I cried, I laughed, I giggled. gosh I love how unserious Yifan and sang yan are sometimes, they're just funny unintentionally. I'm gonna miss them sm😔💞💞💞💞
No one is saying what Yifan did is right by leaving, even she said it herself she was sorry and she was wrong. eps 27 actually wrapped everything very well. Sang yan forgive her for what she did to him by disappearing, he didn't say she was right by doing it, he even admit it destroys him. But sang yan also came with forgiveness, because he knows Yifan haven't been able to forgive herself for so long. And that Now she's gone to therapy, how realistic you people want it to be? And I guess she'll use her job as reporter to confront CXD.
In their HS separation, no one actually asked her what was wrong with her. And after 8 years they see each other again, sang yan is upset and cold with her. i would be too, if I were him. Rejection from someone you thought feel the same way as you is hurt. But he was still nice to her🗣️ yes he is, that was cause sang yan couldn't let go of her. For him, no one is better than yifan. I think so too, I think no one is better than yifan for sang yan. I think I get why sang yan loves her so much as a person or as love interest. Yifan before the tragedy was a very determined kid, she knows what she wants and even if she's not good at it she was always willing to try. Sang Yan on the other hand, is the opposite of her. He didn't have that much purpose of want in life, well that's cause he has a stable family, financially and mentally. but once he met Yifan, he realized he can't keep relying on what he has. She gave him purpose. of what he wants and what he needs. But after 8 years long they met again, she changed. And sang yan still loves her. It proves how sang yan never just love the idea of Yifan. He loves every version of her.
in Their separation this time, they all realize, Qiaoqiao, sang yan. that they can't keep waiting for Yifan to tell them first, because she was never a good communicater anyway. And they realize how terrible it must her story for her not being able to tell the truth. they gave her space, but at the same time try to find out, or be " nosy" for once for her. Since yifan thinks she's hard to love, or undeserving of it. life gave her both her boyfriend and her best friend. That's why i love the scene between Qiaoqiao and sang yan when they were talking about her. 2 ppl who loves her deeply, and would do anything for her, when Yifan haven't been able to. I think it's beautiful. They love her, until Yifan also love herself like they love her.
Why does it take so long for her come to this conclusion in eps 27? I think some people already said it many times, how it's not easy to be completely sane after what she's been through. trauma after trauma. unstable relationship with her family. the emotional pressure of telling the truth. it needs courage, and courage didn't just come quick. it needs time, and alot of work to put in. Love someone so deeply doesn't make us a simp or weak. Love is only for brave people. Love isn't easy. it's complex and need more understanding when it comes to it. Bet no one is as brave as sang yan.
i want to point this out too, in novel version sang yan was making it about him. If you once maybe try to really see eps 24-25, this changes are actually wise. The approach of sang yan was being sympathize with Yifan decision instead of be angry with her is to show how much he loves her. It shows how genuine he is from the start. Yifan have enough baggage to carry, and he knows her decision this time aren't base on her impulse. She knows her so called uncle the most and what he capable of. And she also knows how angry sang yan would be, he'd be want to 🔪 her uncle without thinking of the outcome. To show how forgiving sang yan is, doesn't mean he's weak or doormat. It shows his strength. How open mind he is. he's hurt. but she's more hurt by this decision. And he's willing to understand and wait for her. It's her battle. And he acknowledge it. And she has to let go her only safe space and the love she has. by letting it go, it also shows how strong she is. letting go someone you love so much just to protect them is not easy. It needs so much strength
people be saying he should've just leave her and all. it's not like she's leaving because she was scared, she was literally trying to protect him, her uncle might and might not possibly hurt sang yan. but sang yan for sure will. She rather letting him go than him ruining his future for her. And why would some implied that she shouldn't be in love or loved by sang yan, as if she is so undeserving of whatever sang yan gave to her? As if she's don't deserve to be loved or loved someone, after what she's been through. She herself don't want any of this. You know, I think what triggers me with this type of statement is how insensitive they sound. It happens with so many people in rl, it's sickening. Her choices aren't always right, but doesn't mean she don't deserve the love and care sang yan has for her.

It's like telling someone shouldn't love someone else because they're brain not capable of it. because their circumstances make them undeserving to love for someone as good as sang yan. Let's talk more about the perpetrator instead. Bash them as much as you bash people like Yifan.
kudos to ZRN and BJT, you two did a good job at making some viewers show so much empathy for the characters and also prove that most people can be lack of empathy and understanding. if you have been through the same as Yifan, remember that you deserve all the good things in the world. you may make mistakes at some point, but you'll learn how to forgive and love yourself, very soon. And I Hope you find your sang yan, be it your love interest or maybe you are the sang yan yourself.
