can't wait to see this! i love both li qin & xiao zhan, but im not sure about meng mei qi though.
not to hate on mmq, but the only ones happy with her casting are her fans... But we'll see, it seems like they're completely changing Bi Yao's character or whatever if we look at her character poster
Is the novel BL? If so, maybe we’ll get lucky and the two romantic interests will have killer chemistry like…
Are you new to cdrama? Yes, I'm sure it won't be BL, from the beginning it was reported to be sworn brotherhood. If you're expecting this drama to have wangxian romance, you'd better turn your expectation elsewhere, like the audio drama. Or the animation (though I think this won't have BL romance too. Light teasing, maybe).
It seems to adapt most of the plot from the novel (past and present). Loosely adapted though, so don't expect…
That's good to know, because I have seen many people disappointed over the many changes to this drama (outside of the no BL thing). Originally planned to be released in Q2 of 2019, but who knows... It's been no news for so long...
HOLY Yes Please! This is a sort of prologue to what happened in the novel/anime right?Cause by the description,…
It seems to adapt most of the plot from the novel (past and present). Loosely adapted though, so don't expect this to be an exact copy of the novel....
Why do they hate her? She is very beautiful and talented in my opinion.
Okay first, I don't want to argue about whether or not she is a good person IRL. But everything you wrote are all based on rumors. The proofs are all from SS/photos of documents that could be easily faked (the number of scenes, the so-called money flow or whatever). Also from many of the leaked video, from fans who recorded the filming process without permission. Honestly, those videos are easy to be taken out of context because we don't know what the end product actually look like, or what the context of the scenes they were filming were. We see Wen Qing grabbing Wuxian's hand, how easy it is to say that "OMG there must be something going on between the 2 of them! Romantic scene!" You assumed I didn't research all those before writing that. I read every single photos of document that people said are 'official', that no one know where or who the sources are. Honestly, how could anyone tell they are official??
Second, do you know that she has written statements denying the accusation? She also straightforwardly answered that no, her character doesn't have romantic plot with the leads. The other thing is, it seems Jinjiang (the company who holds the license for the novel) has clause forbidding adding BG romance when Tencent bought the adaption license. Also, MXTX is known for being super protective over her CPs, do you think she would ever let the them paired with anyone else? The decision to sell the IP was hers, she had decided to accept the offer for the adaption license buying, don't you think she would have done some sort of preventive measure from BG romance (which she has, in the form of Jinjiang having that special clause).
Now, even with all those, why are people still going on and on about the rumors? Because they don't bother to do their research properly before spreading the rumors. It is very easy to jump onto the hate train rather than maintain a cool head and think rationally and do research.
The drama is produced by China's giant company, Tencent, who more or less 'own' China's internet. They invested tons of money into this. Do people honestly think they are so stupid as to adding the one thing that novel fans could never accept : BG romance? If we think about this rationally, they obviously want their money investment back, so why would they purposefully alienate fans that would potentially result in the drama flopping in views?
Lastly, the many changes in the drama were the decisions of scriptwriters/producers. Actors/ess have no say in it, unless they own the company producing the drama, or they are A-list actors/ess, which MZY definitely is not. If people hate the direction the drama has taken (example, Wen Qing has a bigger role), complain to the producers/writers, don't bully the actors/ess.
One last thing, can you put your long comment under spoiler? So this comment section looks neat...
There could be several reasons. Maybe they have hit a snag with the censor board so they sent the episodes back…
Afaik, this is originally produced for TV, but Iqiyi has the streaming license for it. I don't know about that news, but I know that streaming services are attempting to limit the number of costume dramas they air every year, in attempt to catch up with their backlog of modern dramas.
About this drama, the producer updated about finish editing/fixing(?) this drama a few weeks ago. Also, the latest news is that the number of episodes changes from 48 to 58, this is one of the sign that this drama will be aired on TV(s) too, because producers get paid per episode if their drama air on TV. I just hope the don't put in unnecessary fillers, but after watching many dramas that get more episodes added than originally planned, I am not that optimistic.
Since I think the subbers don't allow their works to be uploaded on illegal streaming sites, you have to download it here (torrent link) https://nyaa.si/view/1084149
