I'm a xz fan from xnine and those new xz fans annoy me too. No respect of his co-stars, thinking xz is the best, no 1 in popularity. I'm honestly missing when he was just lowkey popular in the networks. Btw, he has been rising in popularity since 2018, he was not a no one before that, won Doki annual popularity for 2018 too he was even shortlisted on one idol of the year award thingy on 2016. I said milking his popularity for ome, what i meant was exactly that, bcs within xnine he's always been the most popular (im not talking about weibo followers) in the networks. And ome promotion fooled a lot of people, thinking xz was the lead when actually he was the third lead.

Anyways, I really feel bad for Dalu, this should have aired last year and become HIS drama of the year...

You misunderstood me. The part i pointed out that's made up by fans (xz wyb shippers) is the thing about wyb lending him his bodyguards. Xz has bodyguards since june, but they dont stay with him 24/7 while he is doing long projects like filming drama, they only will accompany him travelling or when doing short project. I never denied he has problems with sasaeng, or that he needs bgs, but he really did say he initially didnt want bodyguards, if i remember correctly it was for one of the interviews for Jade Dynasty. The other story i mentioned about his agency milking him happened before the untamed, for example with oh my emperor drama, he is not the lead in that, but early promotion made it seem like he was the lead, milking his popularity. Also the fact that his agency back then rigged a voting after xfire so him (and a few other boys who also lost xfire) could debut with xnine, they also made him the lead in superstar academy despite him losing xfire, they made use of his popularity then too, meanwhile the boys who actually won xfire only became supporting cast.

The thing about yibo lending bodyguards to xz is stuff made up by their shippers. Though, both of their agencies possibly did hire bgs from the same security company. Xz has had bodyguards before wyb was first seen with one, but he himself said in an interview that he doesnt like to bring bgs, he doesnt like being seen like he's way more than he actually is (how to explain this...?).

That channel is 'reporting' on gossips and rumors as if they are facts. Dont believe 100% of what they say in their videos. Xz's agency never properly manages their own artistes, not just xiao zhan. If anything xz is the one they wanted to milk so much from the beginning. From the beginning he's alway been the one who has had the most projects and endorsements. I'm speaking as a fan of xnine and has seen their development since xfire days. That particular vid above actually annoys us xnine fans on twitter, over how much inaccuracy and false stuffs in it.

Don't dwell in such toxicity too much. There's already enough anguish just for waiting for this to finally be freed of production limbo.

The drama doesnt market itself as having a romance between the 2 leads (you were correct in technicality it is bromance), and the producer interview even said she wanted to portray their relationship as more than romance. The cfans are usually calling it socialist brotherhood. Haha I also got some grief (from other fans) from saying this drama doesnt have romance, however I do view the 2 leads relationship as subtle romance (bcs im originally novel fan). Saying it bromance or socialist brotherhood doesnt mean we're not acknowledging wuxian and wangji bond with each other, and in the case of China, it is also a form of protection because this drama is toeing the line very dangerously. I hope other fans can chill a little.

Seems like the editor put the 'production cycle time' from the drama submission form as basis of it. It says the production cycle is 3 years, however it is by no means an indication that this drama will air three years from now. It just means that from the start of the production (licensing, scriptwriting and such) until the finished product airs, will approximately need three years. It's not a fixed date (the production cycle), however, just estimation. Besides Tencent seems to be aiming for 2020 release to ride off the heat of both leads popularity this summer. Dont worry about mdl placeholder date so much xD

I think it is funny that some of the 'backlash' that this movie got with the casting choice was that xz is too beautiful to play xiaofan. I wholeheartedly agreed in the beginning and was a bit disappointed by his casting (despite me being a long time xz fan), but after seeing the actual character appearance in the trailer, i was like that is zhang xiaofan! Hahaha
