Plus zhu xian, though this is a movie. He is getting all the big novel MC roles
The story itself is mostly about demonic object(s) and the sects.
Xiaofan's first love was his senior sister (Tian Ling'er). She only saw him as her lil brother. Then he met a demon sect girl (Biyao) and both fell in love with each other. Early in the story she protected him and went into coma, never woke up again (if we're following the novel story). He eventually ended up with Lu Xueqi who had loved him since a long time ago. I highly doubt the movie covers even half of the novel plot. Probably only reaches the Biyao falling into eternal coma. Maybe if this movie does well, they will give the go ahead to produce the sequel(s). Zhu Xian novels deserve at least one faithful live action adaption. The drama version is fine for people who dont read the source. For novel readers, it's just...nope, hahaha
The original plan was that this would be a webdrama. But now that the final female lead cast is Yang Zi + Xiao Zhan's rising popularity, TV station probably will buy the airing rights...
Fan girls are the most dangerous species on the planet! That looks like the most toxic discussions I'd ever seen.Fine…
I originally wanted to ask you to delete your comment with the link above, because I was worried the toxicity there would spread here. Oh well, I felt it was impolite to ask you that. I hope whoever reads that dramapanda page will not bring the negativity here...
Why do they hate her? She is very beautiful and talented in my opinion.
Lol no male leads are Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji. While she did deny her character would have loveline for either of the two, she didnt say anything about jiang cheng hahaha.
Since we're here again, I still want to say it again that I really dont believe the production team ever had any plan to insert BG romance for either of the leads. The script took a year to write, and the bad rumor broke a month before filming ended, so like it was impossible to salvage the story and get the end product that we see from the actual drama if they really did ever plan on BG romance for Wuxian. Imagine the amount of time it would have taken for reshooting. The drama itself finished shooting on time. The crew love the source material, tencent holds it in high regard too. So them intentionally changing the romance into unnecessary BG just doesnt make sense.
However, I dont deny that they really shot some iconic scenes with wuxian wen qing instead of wuxian wangji. It should be noted tho, that there's a possibility that they intentionally shot two different version of those scenes (not unheard of in drama/movie filming) to avoid early spoilers from the fans who were spying. Or to throw off the censor board.
It's not just her, it's like that with a majority of any c-drama
Oh well if that's what you want, Jade Dynasty is your best bet. But if they're following the novel closely Xiaofan Xueqi romance will be basically nonexistent at first because he'll spend most of the time infatuated by Biyao haha.
If you want to discuss more about this movie, probably best to continue on its page?
Uh is it confirmed though Ik Sean is going to be the in but what I care about most is Yang Zi is she confirmed?
No official announcement yet. However, according to fan report (if it could be believed) she was seen at the filming location/booting ceremony today. Xiao zhan was the one who wasnt seen.

I was not talking about any specific reason like this year's founding celebration, or any kind of ban. If you often go to weibo/forums discussion she is often mentioned as being the actress who has the worst luck because her projects very rarely can air on time. The Wolf and Tears in Heaven, have wait for two years right? There is also one that never got to air since years ago I think.
Too bad because I really like her and wish to see her in a drama as a lead...
not to hate on mmq, but the only ones happy with her casting are her fans... But we'll see, it seems like they're…
Too big a name for this. And if they had had her, chances were it would have faced the same script changes like Noble Aspirations, making Bi Yao's screen time a lot more than her actual novel appearance, thus defeat the purpose of making a more faithful movie adaption. Also, she was on hiatus when this was filmed.
Some people say they should have made Tang Yixin play Biyao, she looks the part. But she is also a great Tian Ling'er, so...
I hope this movie will have great success in the box office, so they can make the sequel(s) and completing the original entire Zhu Xian story. The novel deserves an at least faithful live action adaption. Drama version was okay, but for novel reader it was...unrecognizable...
Your cats totally belong to the species with high EQ and IQ. They have great taste too. You're very blessed to have been chosen by them as their forever human ~

Edit: nevermind. Someone else has spoiled it for you haha

I just want to watch Li Qin in main role :(
Too bad because I really like her and wish to see her in a drama as a lead...
Btw, Li Qin sure has the worst luck, in terms of her dramas being postponed from airing for whoever knows how long...
