13 years since wwx died makes perfect sense considering the flashback happened 16 yrs ago...
i think the makers did a good job by not juggling b/w the past and present because it will confused poeple who are new to wuxia dramas or those who havent read the novel esp since all the characters look and dress the same way even after 16 years... it would have been hard to differentiate b/w the past and present...

i guess since you have read the novels you have a better view of lwj as a character but for me who is watching it for the first time without any prior knowledge about the story, lwj as a character didnt impress me much or rather got overshadowed by other characters... he did showed some kind of emotions after the flashback but it still fell flat to me... even when he is having a conversation it looked like the actor is talking to thin air... i did felt that lwj was more invested the relationship but i couldnt feel any sort of liking or disliking towards his character... may be its because lwj didnt had anything going on for himself... almost all of his actions and change were directly or indirectly connected to wwx whereas wwx as a character had an existence outside of his relationship with lwj... he had a lot going on in his life which didnt had anything to do with lwj... its like lwj felt like the female lead of a male oriented drama who is just there to give emotional support to the male lead and uplift him when he is down... i hope you get what i want to say... in short he didnt feel like one of the main leads out of the 2...

that also makes sense but i dont remember any scenes b/w sushe and jin zixun were he insults sushe... if sushe simply hated arrogant guys like jin zixun who were born into important families according to sushe lwj was the most arrogant one... he didnt put any curse on him out of hatred...

i think it physically affected sushe as well because he looked very weak in the last scenes and jgy was giving him medicines...
having holes in the body is surely gonna hurt...

the timeline shown in the drama is also quite confusing... wwx was shown to be dead 16 yrs ago but the flashback also started 16 yrs ago... the lan seminar, defeating the wen and all that happened till wwx died might have at least took 2-3 yrs if not more... so they should have shown the entire flashback story as 19-20yrs ago...

that kind of makes sense but why would anyone use a curse that will have the same effect on the one who put the curse esp someone as selfish as sushe? su she put that curse on jgy's cousin 16 yrs ago and he is still suffering from it that means there wasnt even any cure to it...

i meant jgy's right-hand man as in su she... i forgot his name when i wrote the previous comment..

i got that jgy cursed his cousin but didnt know he was the one who cursed his right hand man as well... that guy stayed loyal to him till his last breath and jgy looked like he really cared for him...

i kind of understood how the curse works but how does one get that curse?
like how did the right hand of Jin Guangyao get that curse?
i finished watching the drama but i didnt get it...

ja sung and siah didnt made any sense and there is not a single reason for siah to have any sort of feelings for ja sung...
siah and siwoo are teenagers and already went through a lot... even in the movies the kids dont find out...
jihoon is a successful sportsman and has a niece to look after... he was already playing a lost game with da jung... she never showed any kind of romantic interest in him or encouraged his feelings... like ja sung, jihoo was also having a one sided love... he will get over her and will find happiness elsewhere... its not like da jung was the only sort of happiness in his life...

what is the curse of 100 holes? why did that curse made that arrogant jin clan guy attack wwx when he went to see yulin's child?

so its not that i didnt understand its just that they didnt show it completely... i got it...

i am not asking for spoilers... i just want to know what exactly is that wwx sacrificed... i didnt understand those parts... i didnt fast forward those parts but i didnt understand what exactly happened to jiang cheng and what exactly did wwx sacrifice because physically jc looked fine.. he was a little weak due to getting beaten up but his physical wounds were healed by wen quing....

i have another doubt...
what is it when they say spiritual core( or something like that) is missing... like when jiang cheng was ill for a long time what exactly did wwx sacrificed to get jiang cheng back to normal

so apparently the only 2 female characters who had some kind of importance died in the flashback... that sucks... i liked both of them esp wen qing...

what happened to wen qing and the rest of the poeple who lived in the burial mountain?
i fast forwarded some of the fight scenes around ep 30 to 33 so i might have missed it...

so what happened to mo xuanyu? did he self sacrificed himself to bring back wwx? but wasnt mo xuanyu locked up inside a room.. how come no one saw his dead body?
