This episode was expected Joseon was always destined to fall.
yeah I agree... I mean this episode we knew was coming it was foreshadowed a lot. I think thats what makes it unique too that it's a blend of genres. I also appreciate complex characters because no one is all bad or all good in real life. I know the king is based on a real king in history who was very cruel, but I'm solely speaking on the fictional character in this drama.
I can't be the only one wondering how this is gonna end tomorrow though. It just seems like it's gonna be a heavy episode. But then what happens when she gets back...better not see anything like Scarlet Heart as the ending lol She goes to museum and sees his portrait PLEASE no .... I think an ending where she's at her restaurant and he comes in as some Anton Ego food critic and he's got some pseudonym or something that relates him back to the king would be funny.
lee chae min really wasted his true potential on dramas like heirchy, crushology 101, he's meant for this type…
right? I mean he just seemed like a regular run of the mill in those other dramas but here he's proving to be far more skilled and technical. He was also cast last minute with like two weeks to prepare for this role, so he definitely has some innate talent too. Hopefully he gets better scripts in the future after this
I was just watching drama for fun and so far it has been...but today's episode holyyyy..... Chaemin's acting is actually chilling. I mean he's been very good thus far, but the way he's very masterfully expressing so many emotions in the scene where he learns the truth about his mother... that's some raw talent
Honestly I think I enjoyed this a lot more than singles inferno or those other dating shows bc the people here felt a lot more real....that being said I think theres a lot they can fix because it did get a bit boring. There should've been more opportunities for people who don't like each other to mingle as well because it felt like people were constantly in the same pairs. I think other dating shows do this a bit better. I also think they should've had more fun date ideas or something that would provoke them to form connections. I found JM and JY to be insane lmao ...like it just took a day? Hey, I'm not trying to judge maybe it's like that for some people...but for me it's not so seeing them move so quickly was like whiplash. We got them talking about marriage and everything, sleeping in the same bed and who knows what else lol As for Jisoo and Seungli that's not lasting very long but it's sometimes more about gaining experience and learning from each other. I found it so frustrating that most of the girls were just hung up on JM ...like if he's not reciprocating then it's just that, like go and talk to someone else? it's so aggravating omg ....and MH I honestly loved her but she was a bit of an over thinker and I get it but I also wished she would just accept a rejection and move on... if a man isn't a 100% for you, please leave bc there's someone else who will be.
Jaeyun was so cute fr I think I'd cry if someone wrote down stuff to ask, wore my favorite scent, mindful of my feelings, practiced how to say my name a certain way, or was so diligent in learning about me and all. He was awkward and had a hard time speaking his mind but I think based on what we saw was he just had to be comfortable for his personality to come out. I wish they saw that too, like the people there for the most part aside from Jisoo weren't very emotionally intelligent. Like it felt like ragebait honestly when YM was laughing about what he said to her, bc girl you know damn well ....like you see how differently the others spoke to him when they didn't really understand what he meant and were patient with him. Also the surgeon had no prospects? I don't believe it. Where was his and the Japanese teachers screentime?
what was even the reason to give us two extra participants and give them zero screen time?My main issue with this…
wait right? like we never saw the two other people who joined later... like literally got nothing from them..and I find it so hard to believe that the surgeon had zero prospects lol
Even after a few days of letting that ending marinate a little, the impact is still there and that's how you know how well this drama was written. NgM really knows how to pick a tight script. I liked how there really were no cliche's in this drama (aside from the usual jealous side-character archetypes). I know that the premise is cliche somewhat but it somehow became something entirely brand new. It wasn't all about loving someone till their dying breath or experiencing everything before you die even, it was about simply living. We get so caught up in "what's next" and "what ifs" that we forget to live in the present and I feel like this drama's purpose was to push forth simply living your life and living however you want to. JYB's acting was also very well done in how she portrayed a terminally ill person in such a new way. She brought LDE to life genuinely, I'm impressed with how real she was. There was awkwardness, hesitancy, forced joyfulness, foolishness and so much more that really pulls the character off the page and into reality. I also noticed how she slowly became sicker throughout the drama. Like very subtle hints and changes in demeanor that make you believe that yes this person is suffering with a smile.
I wish this drama would get more reception because of how good it is. But like most masterpieces it'll just be hidden in plain sight I guess...
i'm not sure if just sharing the bed consummate their love but they did share a bed just for sleeping and not…
oh for sure...I also like that they didn't include something like that because had it been written by a western writer, we here seem to really equate love with physical intimacy when that's not the case. To me their gazes, gestures, and actions mean a lot more which is why the ending hits a lot harder for me. I honestly don't mind and am rather glad that they didn't add more physical intimacy because for one it wouldn't have added to the plot and it would've been exploitative in a sense too. Plus she's sick and dying so it wouldn't be appropriate to have her bed ridden one scene and then the next scene have something wild happening. Definitely is an interesting discussion tho because I find that many people choose to dislike certain dramas if the leads don't kiss or don't outwardly end up in a relationship, because often those character relationships are written the best.
i'm not sure if just sharing the bed consummate their love but they did share a bed just for sleeping and not…
tbh I think them just being together in a relationship is enough implication lol and love scenes and stuff are usually unnecessary for the plot...but just bc you didn't see it, don't mean it didn't happen haha
Spoil one thing for me? Do they officially get together before she dies? Like do they conssumate their love? Even…
I mean probably lol... they don't often show much of that in dramas especially not this kind of drama with it being so heavy. It's not very directly implied but they do share a bed, and the FL's friend teases her about them sharing a bed and the FL is like caught off guard like "how do know that" ...so maybe that itself is the implication? I honestly do think so
When Lee Je Ha watched the video of Daem... gosh the way he went to full blown crying made me so sad... She was…
he portrayed grief in such a visceral and realistic way and how it just overcomes you out of nowhere sometimes. One minute you can be laughing and the next completely consumed by anguish and longing.
they took the oldest cliche plot ever and turned it into something new … I only have high praise for this drama. The director and writer are true artists and the actors all portrayed their roles so beautifully
now the investor got me pissed. tell me you know nothing about making movies without telling me....you can't just swap out a director especially one whose also the writer...like what an absurd proposal ...you swap the man whose making the movie it's a completely different movie then ....lmao I know it's a plot device but let me be pissed rn
the college friend too...jealousy is normal but to act like that is so pathetic I'll never understand it ...as for seoyoung she's written like a real person tbh ... she's jealous but she's still rational...still kinda absurd in how she's acting it's also pathetic ...but she's better than others.
I also like how this drama is lowkey unpredictable ...like a lot of what happens isn't the usual of dramas I think ...like they got caught immediately lol and they have people supporting who have their backs too because lets be honest since when is loving someone a crime or a "scandal". Also the fact that Jeha and Daeum told the crew everything was insane but I really like that they don't drag anything out.
I also like how honest they are with each other and the fact that Daeum didn't get angry when Jeha told her that he used her. She's rational and mature like what a breath of fresh air. We see stupid emotionally stunted characters so often in Kdrama's.
I'm kind of torn though...they seem to the hinting at an open ending and sometimes an open ending is better than a tragic one ...but idk I feel like seeing Jeha lose control of his emotions would be interesting to see because he's a very tightly wound character...but also do I really want to see something that tragic....not really
Like literally everyone is going to find out about DaEum’s illness now?And she and jeha’s being in love and…
@Jay I agree, I think jeha is set on his decision which is also why he didn't make it lightly in the first place. He was going around asking people lol to make sure what he was feeling was truly love. But also he has limited time with her, it wouldn't make sense for him to want to shorten it and he's also adamant on protecting her above himself and anyone else.
Hmmm well I don't think so as its clear from very start that it is melo sad drama so I don't think it will have…
Haha ur right…I love sad endings lowkey but I wish they had more than four months left together…I doubt there’ll be a crazy plot twist that allows her to live. We’re probably going to get a “in heaven” sequence
Now that he has confessed to her, it’s bout time we brace ourselves for the storm that’s coming 😭.
I saw the director said that the point of the drama is having courage to love and that the rest of the drama isn’t about dying it’s about living. It better deliver I have high hopes now. Even if she dies, as long as we have a good arc for them and there’s a sense of closure I think it’ll be okay. I love tragic endings they just sit with you the longest

Idk why but getting married would've been like a nice touch to the story
When it switched from his imagination to reality and the empty seat
That’s beautiful direction and writing
