I think they could’ve done better with 14 eps instead bc 11 and 12 felt like they were trying really hard to wrap it all up tightly with a bow, and it got super ridiculous. But then again …even with 14 I think they would’ve screwed up the ending bc that’s just the case with kdrama …having a good finale is illegal
Really wish to see the second couple more!!! I would have loved to see their scene instead of the main lead's…
Same!! I felt like they were a little too irrelevant. I mean I like how the focus was on the main leads but there was hardly build up for the second and then they announce that they were getting married…hello? They had like 5 min of screen time per episode
Korean speakers have said repeatedly that Netflix translated it wrong. https://kisskh.at/766179-the-number-you-have-dialed#comment-20130998
The photo behind Yuri shows the arrow pointing FROM izmael TO paltima, meaning paltima is the target. The translation from one language to another is never perfect bc of language specific nuances. Also the headline on the news clears it up as well. I’m not anywhere near a die hard fan of this drama to where I’d support it even in wrong doings, but if there’s a misunderstanding or mistranslation that causing so much backlash when its not deserving of it, then it’s important that we try to clear it up
For all who are here because of the boycott / mass down voting: https://x.com/woovelyfan/status/1876176784808673385?s=46
Wish these posts could get more traction bc I too was initially disappointed when I saw that scene UNTIL i learned this. This is why it’s so important to do our own research
This is actually so upsetting for everyone who worked so hard on this drama. A mistranslation on Netflix’s part caused so much chaos but I’d also like to add that it’s so crazy how people just jumped onto the hate bandwagon like this without doing proper research. Usually Netflix’s translations from Korean are not super accurate either, they tend to leave out nuances and context.
I do hope that they fix the translation and apologize for causing a misunderstanding though…
But it is truly so interesting to see how people jump to conclusions so fast and start berating the actors on their socials… if the translation were accurate the actors wouldn’t be the people to go to it would be writer and the producers. the actors sign on before they have the whole script so there’s no way of them to know beforehand what would be said in the last 6 min of the finale until they have it in their hands much later. Also they can’t just say “no I won’t do this scene” they’re contracted it’s not that simple especially not in that environment…AND regardless the scene is the exact opposite of what the translation says too, the scene is criticizing “izmael”
Agree. The first 40 or so minutes of ep 12 were so stupid I almost thought I was high. Maybe that would have made…
omg FR... dude ghosted her and went to WAR. WHAT?! like he was so selfish for that too and people here like "but he never took off his ring" to hell with that damn ring it's probably swelled stuck on that finger he couldnt take it off if he wanted to.
Can somebody tell me how's the ending? Spoilers are also okay!
the writer either lost their OG script for the last ep and had to write a new one overnight or they accidentally submitted their kids fanfic as the script ... I mean it's pretty ridiculous until around 40 min and then it comes right back to what we know. If you're looking to laugh, you definitely will. It's a happy ending though!
I have never posted anything here and in fact I just created my ac today just to support this drama which I have…
and the fact that its not even a misalignment of views...its a whole mistranslation!! It's in fact the exact opposite especially if you look at the screen behind Yuri it shows Paltima being the target not the aggressor but ofc majority of us wouldn't know bc its in Korean. it sucks for the actors who are getting hate rn because its literally Netflix's fault
Agree. The first 40 or so minutes of ep 12 were so stupid I almost thought I was high. Maybe that would have made…
I got so confused why it suddenly became DOTS lmao...why is it illegal for writers to just write a nice last episode like please they can be happy for 1hr10min the world wont end
while the start was promising, the end ran into the same problem that queen of tears did. The plot became just…
the end of QOT and WTPR omg...both went down the soap opera route ...now dont get wrong I was so entertained but only because I couldn't believe my eyes. HJ has gotten kidnapped how many times?? that has to be a record. Thank God it straightened up towards the very end. I'd probably also give it around a 7.5
BEFORE YOU READ: I'm just giving my opinions on the last episode not including the Paltima and Izmael mess which is btw a MISTRANSLATION and the photo behind Yuri also aids that with Paltima being the target not the aggressor. Check it our for yourselves, but hopefully they'll apologize for it being misleading with the translation and take accountability.
I'm truly going to be honest this last episode was so cringey....like it derailed so hard that it somehow re-railed around 40 ish min. I do think it undermined a lot of Baek Saeon's character development and I was also super confused....did he or did he not get shot? (am I stupid lol) The Argan plot was apparently in the novel so I see why they include it, but it was super random at this point because we had like one or two mentions of it in the first episode and then never again. AND WHY IS Heeju always getting kidnapped and then OFC fake Saeon saved them all. it became so ridiculous I was laughing. Now...maybe all of that was an excuse to just put YYS in that outfit, the writer had a vision and they were gonna make it happen one way or another. I think that kiss tho topped even the scene that came after, so I guess it kind of made up for the mess that was the first half. the ending was good too like it felt like they came right back to their respective genre with their phone call. I will say this drama was written really well from start to like 10/11.. EP 12 feels like the writer procrastinated and then pulled an all nighter to submit this ep script for a 8 am deadline...it's such a fever dream. The actors really pulled through in this drama too...the script was absurd for 12 but they made it work and thats some talent. If they wanted to add the Argan plot line they should've made it 14 episodes to flesh out those details. I am happy tho that it was not a 16 episode drama, that would've made this super draggy. Perhaps we need to just collectively lower out expectations when it comes to finales because they aren't usually strong suits of kdrama
y'all the Paltima and Izmael scene is not translated properly from Korean. I too was taken aback and very disappointed in the writer when I saw that scene but if you guys look at other translations than English it says something opposite. The photo in the back also points towards the target being "paltima" but ofc majority of us can not read Korean. I think the translator messed up big because they entirely changed the meaning and caused this drama to lose massively....so if anyones accountable its gotta be Netflix.
It is unfortunate, that, even today, Korea insists on remaining detached from reality and shows little interest…
I too was disappointed until I was told it was mistranslated...look at the photo behind Yuri ...it has the arrow pointing FROM "Izmael" towards "Paltima"...therefore "paltima" is the target. Also the subtitles in French (I also speak French) are different than the English one. In fact I think the translator tried to directly translate from Korean but it came out weird and it completely changed the meaning. I say tell Netflix to fix the translation
Does anyone think the male lead is a red flag? Half of Twitter has turned against him. Now Twitter has always…
I dont think he's a red flag either...I mean considering his situation and his reasoning esp after ep 6 he's kind of leaning towards green flag actually...he's not perfect in the slightest and terrible at communicating up front but if he was good at it then we'd have no drama lol
It has to be said, the pacing of this drama and the truly constant "cliff-hangers" are really whats pushing this to the top five for me for this year. How is it that every episode really doesn't have any skips. I also like how the focus is on the leads and not the second leads too. Although the week long waits are also driving the anticipation, if this was released all at once I doubt it'd have the same effect
Ok but The only person wearing black, with cuffs on his jacket that’s you, Park Dojae. Like It could be him…
I thought so too till I saw someone who slowed it down (I also checked myself lol cant trust anyone) and the jacket is actually two colors...its grey on the top and black on the bottom except they purposefully showed the grey bit reeeallly fast...so it seems that the guy who tried to sit next to her and partner up pushed her? but I still think PDJ is suspicious
I desperately need y'all to just give your opinions below on who pushed her and I promise you I've got a diff…
I saw on tiktok of someone who took ss of the scene showing the arm that pushed HJ, so I slowed down that part myself....the jacket is grey on the top and you see a square near the shoulder and the bottom is black. The top part of the jacket you see it for like a millisecond so y'all have to really slow it down. But the jacket is the exact match given the detailing of the grey on the top and black on the bottom and the black square near the shoulder and if you see whose looking down immediately when she fell its that grey jacket guy. I feel like they showed the black part of the jacket on purpose to make us think DoJae pushed her. So the dude who's been trying to sit next to her and be her partner during the whole trip...he seems to be the pusher. But who is he and why did he do that? Oh that being said I still feel like PDJ has something about him, like he's definitely involved in some way ...the fact that when the office got attacked, he was outside yet was unscathed.
I do hope that they fix the translation and apologize for causing a misunderstanding though…

Also pretty sure the school nurse is Haesu’s dad I mean there’s no other logical explanation ofc
