I disagree bc respectfully that wouldn't make a good drama and it's kdrama so there's a formula here. We have…
ofc I cant be 100% sure but I really think there will be bc of how they're building up the tension. They had a kiss that wasn't acknowledged as a confirmation of their feelings...it was chalked up as "practice" ....and jeha has to confess so when he does I think they will.

They make the previews misleading on purpose like today's episode's preview they made it seem like Jeha was set on taking Daeum off the movie but in context it's only if it becomes dangerous for her which is a given. They'll have more dw bc it's genuinely impossible for them to not...kdrama hardly ever deviates from their baseline formula bc they know what works

This drama is doing the longing glances so well. NgM really is a phenomenal actor and I knew that from My Dearest but the way he's getting across so much just with his eyes. Jeha is a man of few words bc his face says the rest of them. But genuinely a lot of actors can't do this. JYB is also well matched in terms of acting which is refreshing bc it's so frustrating to watch a kdrama where only actor is pulling the weight. She also knows how to say so much with just her face and her trying to laugh while about to cry is so realistic. The pacing is also really good. It doesn't feel like we're running too fast or dragging which is also hard to do with this sort of genre.

Anyways I think we need to have consensus that Jeha has been enthralled by Daeum since the grape juice...

After today’s episode, I have a feeling the direction has changed. There won’t be a relationship or more confessions…
I disagree bc respectfully that wouldn't make a good drama and it's kdrama so there's a formula here. We have them slowly falling in love, and now it's starting to get to a point where it's obvious to everyone that they have a thing for each other. He rejected her bc he's afraid and he's got a bit of that cynicism when it comes to love bc of his dad, but you see it being slowly torn down by his feelings for daeum. He had to reject her bc that's in line with his character but let's also recall him giving in and kissing her. He's very aware of how he feels but he doesn't want to be the archetype director falling for his actress on top of trying to do the right thing. I do think that they'll have a relationship bc it's "our movie" as in life imitating art. He's going to love her despite knowing that she's going to die. I think he's actually been misunderstood by people. He feels very deeply which is why he puts up a cold front to protect himself. He doesn't believe in fairy tales or superficial love, but a love that transcends sense.

I actually really like the premise of the kdrama....men like that I highly doubt exist irl but whatever keep raising my standards I guess.
I saw some people getting a bit annoyed with the FL but given how she is the CEO of a company and we also got some backstory about her dad her character makes a lot of sense. Her life and her circumstances have made her hyper independent and it's a real thing. A lot of people have a hard time letting others in or letting people help them because of past traumas and also feeling like they have to take responsibility for everything. I also understand her being upset with Yoo Eun Ho bc who would want to be looked down on especially after putting so many hours into their work. And again, he's a man who just doesn't exist. The way he listened and changed and the acts of service??? crazy stuff..

The pacing does feel a little slow but it's only been two episodes and it's a 12 episode drama so I think it'll start picking up a little next week.

Acting wise YYS did an amazing job. He showed great range in all good scenes. I don't know if it was intentional…
fr I think he showcased a lot of range here in this drama to where he really stood out. Ive seen a few of his other work too but this one hits diff lol. CSB to be fair she was a mute character for like half of it but I think she did pretty well with that especially given that she learned sign language for her role too. She was also a little more "stoic" in terms of her character because of trauma and expectations put on her and you do see her break out of that half-way through so I'd say that was probably a character choice. I think both of them did very well to where it felt real haha even in the 12th episode (that mess) its their acting that saved it otherwise idk wtf that was until the last half.

Korean speakers have said repeatedly that Netflix translated it wrong. https://kisskh.at/766179-the-number-you-have-dialed#comment-20130998
I'm not talking about the link above...I translated it for myself bc I couldn't believe my eyes tbh (not google translate) and I know a native Korean speaker. You could actually learn the Korean alphabet real quick and just read the background of the scene with the arrow for yourself and you'll understand. I don't give a damn about the show, I just think we shouldn't hate especially if its not deserved or due to misunderstanding... all peace and all love I'm not in opposition to your views regarding real life events, those are also my people

hmm more like theyre saying that the ratings here don't really have much of an effect on the drama at this point especially given that it's already garnered success and a lot of profits...if we want the translation to be fixed and for there to be an official apology and clarification we should focus the energy on holding the right people accountable. Doing it here is just barking up the wrong tree and creating fights

They don't seem to be mad, I think they're just stating the facts and their opinions just like everyone else which they are entitled to. There's also a lot of misinformation being spread and it doesn't make sense to incite backlash where it isn't deserved right? It's perfectly fine to be upset I was too until I saw the actual proper translation. It doesn't make sense to be upset about something that isn't even true?

And some of these very same people used to love the show and the actors🥴 they just go with what’s trending.
So true...people are so fickle, just following the highest tides. The "majority" is not always right, we need to do our own research

Do men like this exist anywhere? AHA if they do they're super rare. I see some people saying it's boring but it is a "slice of life" kind of drama, if you're looking for some action I suggest Judge from Hell.

Wish these posts could get more traction bc I too was initially disappointed when I saw that scene UNTIL i learned…
In the last few minutes of the finale, theres a breaking news segment where "Izmael" has taken Korean hostages during the ongoing attacks on "Paltima" and the male lead whose is a negotiator has to go there. Now there was a mistranslation for the English subs which made it seem as though the attacks were carried out by paltima, so basically twisting irl events and spreading propaganda. HOWEVER, a lot of native Korean speakers have cleared this up with a more nuanced translation and also translated the headline on the segment and the picture in the back which shows Paltima being the target. The scene is actually criticizing "izmael" indirectly. Basically a lot of chaos is due to a really crucial mistranslation, which Netflix is notorious for because they tend to miss a lot of nuances when they translate from Korean.

Koreans couldn't care less. I checked trending topics on The Qoo yesterday (Deyongbe board) and couldn't find…
I also think it’s the fact that on their end they know that the scene is criticizing “Ismael” …

Last episode never should have happened.
I think they could’ve done better with 14 eps instead bc 11 and 12 felt like they were trying really hard to wrap it all up tightly with a bow, and it got super ridiculous. But then again …even with 14 I think they would’ve screwed up the ending bc that’s just the case with kdrama …having a good finale is illegal

Really wish to see the second couple more!!! I would have loved to see their scene instead of the main lead's…
Same!! I felt like they were a little too irrelevant. I mean I like how the focus was on the main leads but there was hardly build up for the second and then they announce that they were getting married…hello? They had like 5 min of screen time per episode

The photo behind Yuri shows the arrow pointing FROM izmael TO paltima, meaning paltima is the target. The translation from one language to another is never perfect bc of language specific nuances. Also the headline on the news clears it up as well. I’m not anywhere near a die hard fan of this drama to where I’d support it even in wrong doings, but if there’s a misunderstanding or mistranslation that causing so much backlash when its not deserving of it, then it’s important that we try to clear it up

This is actually so upsetting for everyone who worked so hard on this drama. A mistranslation on Netflix’s part caused so much chaos but I’d also like to add that it’s so crazy how people just jumped onto the hate bandwagon like this without doing proper research. Usually Netflix’s translations from Korean are not super accurate either, they tend to leave out nuances and context.

I do hope that they fix the translation and apologize for causing a misunderstanding though…

But it is truly so interesting to see how people jump to conclusions so fast and start berating the actors on their socials… if the translation were accurate the actors wouldn’t be the people to go to it would be writer and the producers. the actors sign on before they have the whole script so there’s no way of them to know beforehand what would be said in the last 6 min of the finale until they have it in their hands much later. Also they can’t just say “no I won’t do this scene” they’re contracted it’s not that simple especially not in that environment…AND regardless the scene is the exact opposite of what the translation says too, the scene is criticizing “izmael”
