you know what a real plot twist would be ....imagine Daeum isn't actually sick and it's all munchausen by proxy....I'm trying to find a plausible cop out so we can have a happy ending
I am really connecting with Da Eum. In episode 7, when she is overcome with happiness because she is finally in…
idk why but I interpreted it a little bit differently when she started getting really happy. I almost took it as she was struggling a lot but she seems like someone who knows how to laugh and smile through the pain (we've seen her do it multiple times). Like the way she delivered it felt slightly forced in how she kept going "im so so happy". It was like her reaffirming herself to be grateful and happy to mask her feelings of maybe inadequacy, emotional pain, and physical pain. idk if my interpretation even makes sense lol but it reminded me of how we sometimes act to double down on certain emotions. I love how they wrote her character tho ....she's not a classic terminally ill patient who's either cynical and hates life or the overly chummy who is unrealistically happy archetype... she has genuine human qualities. Like she is bright but she's not unrealistic because we see her struggle and pushing herself to be positive.
ok so this episode really gave what it needed to give.
I wanna first say that CSY I get it, but I don't. I understand feeling contempt and jealousy and even nasty towards someone or something that's natural but her actions and what she chooses to say to Daeum really irk me. She's only nice on the outside then is she not and that's so sad for Daeum because here is your idol slowly starting to treat you terribly. And I know people are going to say "but CSY didn't do anything terrible"...that's kind of the point. These kinds of people they don't do anything outwardly nasty it's just small jabs and passive aggressiveness that they send to make you feel bad about yourself. All the stuff in the car it's genuinely like CSY doesn't want to understand Daeum ...is it selfish of Daeum to be in a movie while in her state ofc it is but it's also a last chance and you can't deny that if you were in that position you wouldn't jump at the opportunity.
I really liked that we saw Jeha being vulnerable, there's a noticeable shift in his demeanor too. He started making this movie for his own reasons as to expose his father in his own way but now it's no longer that. He's making this movie for Daeum now. In a way Daeum filled the void that Jeha had for a long time and I think thats why he's okay even with the circumstances as he was telling CSY. He was trying to find purpose in his life with the movie before and Daeum inadvertently gave him that.
Also the way he's in love with Daeum omg...I mean we see him notice her instantly after that convenience store and there's a spark off the bat but he falls in love with how her mind works and there's really nothing deeper than that to me. That's loving someone for their soul. I understand that their love can be easily misunderstood too if it gets out because of rumors and whatever but I really hope they can ignore it just because she doesn't have much time left and what do the others know? Just because you live your life in the public eye doesn't mean the public gets to assume and dictate what you do...especially without the whole story ...I really hope we dont get that plot
Confession scene...MASTERPIECE...even their first kiss was absolute cinema...and this was equally so...the director is an artist
you know to be fair, although the ratings are on the lower end for a weekend drama, taking into account the drama content and demographic who are likely watching ...and the fact that it's on streaming platforms ....it's pretty stable...I'm not surprised tho bc all of us watching it are enthralled by this drama
while I might be attacked for this lol, but sometimes I kind of dont like the FL's acting? like you would feel…
hmm I didn't really get that but everyone perceives differently. in my opinion she's doing exceptionally well. It feels like a real person rather than a character for me.
I still don't understand why Jeha fell in love with an imbecilic, ayegyo-ing, bob-walking kinda gal. I don't get…
ope...I think we didnt watch the same drama ... She brought color into his life. There isn't always a reason why you fall for someone too, sometimes it just happens without explainable reasons. But here I think they for one bond a lot and have a lot they learn from each other and you notice how they only really open up to each other. Sometimes you just click with people and you don't really know why, and others you struggle to strike up conversation with. Another thing is, she isn't an imbecile lol....she does all the aegyo and smiley stuff to hide her pain. A lot of the lines that he's written for the movie are her words. He's falling for how her mind works and how she makes him feel alive even though it's ironic that she's bringing him to life while dying. I can see why he's falling for her... her characters written like a bright light with many nuances and human characteristics... JYB also plays her really well to where she feels awkward at times but real and that kind of the charm
CSY you're so nasty and extra? Like dude that relationship was over long ago, you have a Boyfriend... what the…
I’m actually just finding her absurd now. She had a husband for three years and got divorced and got a bf and then expects Je ha to just be hers…? For one, no one is entitled to another so it’s kind of strange how she think she sort of has an ownership over him. He drew lines between them too so you’d think she’d have some self respect…
And I’m not sure why she’s so upset over daeum. It’s definitely not because Daeum is sick and could die mid production putting the movie off…bc it seems more like jealousy and “why not me? Why her?”
and I get it Daeum is sort of selfish but also…if you were given the chance to make your life mean something beyond the confines of the four walls of your hospital room and live out your dream wouldn’t you take it? And it’s not like she doesn't have merit, she earned it.
I feel like CSY is far more selfish in fact. Daeum’s helping herself but she also helped out Jeha so it’s a mutual thing. With CSY she’s using people as she pleases and gets upset when they don’t act how she wants them to.
I also have to point out that Jeha’s feelings for Daeum aren’t out of pity of sympathy. He genuinely enjoys her company. He only smiles with her.
can't wait really! please show us a romantic episode today lol
either end of this ep or next ep ....I'm betting on it bc the chemistry and tension is about to explode. I can't even watch tomorrow's episode when it comes out because I'm working haha but I'm excited! I love it when a drama has you waiting.
to be honest ...and you can disagree lol but I think he knows his feelings bc he's very thoughtful and clearly…
wait yesss I've been thinking this too...now maybe he just recalls her from five years ago bc him liking her seems a little too good to be true and perfect you know ehe...but I def think he recalled her from then and maybeee she's always kind of been THE actress in his eyes. I think he isn't the kind to fall for someone at "first sight" but with Daeum I think he did. Maybe it wasn't five years ago but I just feel like it has to be the convenience store. When she mentions that they've met before he immediately goes yeh I know and says that place so I feel like it's very telling that she left a lasting impression on him in just those few minutes.
1- The preview for episode 7 is so scattered and i don't know i can't make sense of it. what are your thoughts…
I admire your passion as someone who also loves to delve into film and literature. LOL
for the first part the previews tend to be very sparse and misleading to draw viewers and curiosity. But I think we can draw some inferences based on the last part of ep 6 that jeha is struggling with holding back. He rejected her and then cried (I mean he didn't sob, we just see some teary eyes). He knows he's falling in love with her and I think 5 and 6 really solidify that for them. Now I think 7 and 8 we're gonna see a shift in him as he'll probably have a hard time to continue rejecting what he feels especially after being called out.
For the second, def not paternal. It's very much romantic. We see how he gradually began to fall in love with her and the aspect that I like is that he's genuinely falling for her soul and who she is. Him taking care of her and taking interest in her disease and treatments and going to all lengths to where he'll even scrap his movie if he must, is lover behavior. He also kissed her...so there's that. I also don't think he's numb. He seems to feel very deeply which is why he comes off as guarded and cold bc thats likely a coping mech to not get hurt and to not be too vulnerable. His cameraman said it too that he's an odd softie.
Lastly, there's a promo photo of them holding hands I believe on the beach? I also prefer the high tension they have between them like the quick glances, the subtle smiles, soft touches, and so many more moments. It deepens the chemistry so much more. I'm positive we're going to get that cathartic moment it just might take a little longer. I don't think in the end he'll let her die without letting her experience love even if it's a short time.
i first thought 2ndFL might turn out to be a bad character but it doesn't seem so. I m really glad on that part.…
I'm starting to think that their movie is gonna reflect exactly what'll happen in real life. Likely seoyoung is gonna slapped by daeum ...a friend turned foe? Idk im really hoping she isnt tho
to be honest ...and you can disagree lol but I think he knows his feelings bc he's very thoughtful and clearly…
I never thought of it that way, that’s actually interesting! just for the sake of discourse tho I feel like he would’ve then pursued it if that were his mindset? He seems to be adamant on pushing her away and to me it seems like he doesn’t want to be his father 2.0 and he also is very guarded with his heart. I don’t think he’s readily wanting to fall for her it’s happening against his will in a way. Like the night she confessed to him and he harshly rejected her, he cried in his room so he’s going through it. I also think he MIGHT have fallen for her if she were in a regular situation just bc he seems to be in love with her mind and the way she thinks and the words she says. It’s not like an ordinary superficial sort of connection it’s like she opens a door he kept closed for so long. As for seoyoung, they had a situationship. We saw her going to kiss him and him turning away so he drew a physical line but maybe not an emotional one. I think she’s lost and she doesn’t know what she wants so she’s seeking comfort in jeha but he’s not biting. She also probably has a sense of “he was mine first” or possessiveness over him and she’s struggling with it. I really hope she isn’t going to be an obstacle.
Very disappointing performance so far. Can't remember the last time Namkoong Min's drama did this poorly in viewership,…
I think for a Melo like this it’s doing pretty decent. It’s also on Hulu and Disney plus which are streaming services so the ratings don’t translate the same I think? My dearest did really well but that’s probably bc of the genre, it’s very widely appreciated. Slower sad melos aren’t everyone’s cup of tea I guess but they missing out…the direction in this is so good it’s like reminiscent of older movies to me

Slow burn is burning
…they want us to be desperate
