I mean it's just a drama lol so can only blame the writer ... also no one in real life is constantly upstanding... sometimes we're quick to stand up for others and other times we're hesitant. Doesn't mean our views changed, it's just that different situations require different reactions. He also does stand up for her, maybe not in the way you're hoping, but also need to recognize Korea or Asia in general is very "respect elders" even when their wrong, so he can't just scream at someone older and more experienced. They need majin too, bc they can't keep relying on the Pusan lady. And every character has flaws because theyre based on people. We don't always do the right things or say the right stuff so it'd be crazy to write that on paper bc that doesn't exist. Oh but you're right to point it out tho. I also had the exact same thoughts and lowkey an annoyance that he wasn't speaking up when he usually is very vocal.

I think they need someone experienced on their team. I mean the last sales only really went through because they had help of someone who was connected and already successful.

I think if taepoong does stand up for her, which he sorta did, it backfires immediately ..so no matter what he says or does I don't think it'll make a difference in how Majin would treat her. If anything I think it's also a necessary character plot bc this stuff even now exists in the workplace, sometimes subtly and other not so much. I don't think she NEEDs to prove herself to majin or anyone, but herself. She's insecure and it's understandable why her character is insecure too, and sometimes you need a little push to find yourself and build confidence.

the scene where taepoong confesses to her, like right before he does it I was thinking like omg she looks so so pretty even while she's a little disheveled and then he says the exact thing lol! but truly she's so unique and freaking pretty ...
like a lot of the female actresses get a ton of work done and it becomes uncanny watching them on screen. It's so refreshing to see someone who looks real and animated with facial expressions on screen. It makes her shine that much more

I agree and exactly what I was thinking while watching too. But then I saw some other people chiming in here, and they were like there's an added nuance given that the culture is very "respect your elders" so I guess he can't really fight majin on it as much ... he also needs Majin on board bc he's a seasoned trader and knows more than both him and Miseon ...but then again that mf bribed the guard so really what does he know lol

the first two episodes were so intriguing ....and this weeks episodes feel like a bit of a let down in comparison. It's a lot more silly now, which is fine, but the first episodes didn't set it up to be like that at all so it's a little jarring...

I really like this drama, there's a lot of themes going on in here but it never feels overwhelming. One thing I'm gonna say is, I really think they might pull a reply 1988 here. With Jaepil he's a bit frustrating, like he does show that he cares for young rye but it seems to come out only when there's competition, otherwise he doesn't seem to pursue her when we know that he's more than capable of doing that. You could argue he's traumatized but that's ridiculous because he never was even in a full relationship with Jonghui to be traumatized by that "breakup". Anyways there seems to more hints towards Heon. For one, he's daddy long legs, that pink flower symbolism and his pink suit (lol), and then him being more obvious with his affection towards her (as he's always been!!). Heon has been pretty consistent in being there for YR and he's openly calling her pretty (although clearly he's always thought that), him gifting her flowers, always at her house (lol)... Jaepil when he's asked, he's not open in even admitting that he likes her or might like her. Heon knows he liked her, and the reason I like this character is because it shows his love is pure in how he seems to respect who her heart leans towards. Ugh I want him to be with her. And I want Yeongsik and Jonghui ...I feel like theres so much more there than with JP ...for one yeongsik is like the male version of young rye so it makes sense

so do I! I find that her and JP I mean based on what we've seen in the previous episode it gives off more "friendship" vibes than lovers. With her and Heon there's more romantic undertones. Also JH and JP though ...idk why but I just don't feel much chemistry there. I think JH should be with YR older brother there was way more chemistry there. JP is lowkey the nice guy best friend who leads you on but will never see you even if you're right in front of him.

oh I don't think it's that black and white. I mean by that logic we shouldn't hurt people we love yet people do it all the time. Doesn't mean they don't love them. I like that they make him less predictable and more complex. We've seen how his rage is, and that once he's in that state he doesn't see clearly even if he's smart-- highkey anger issues... But it wouldn’t make sense for him to suddenly listen to her while he’s enraged and devastated, with his mother’s death always on his mind and the people who drove her to it standing right in front of him. It's eye for an eye at that point. Just so we're clear, I'm not justifying it, but the situation isn't based on bizarre reasoning. She also can't be spewing everything in front of everyone at such a moment, that'd backfire lol

yeah I agree... I mean this episode we knew was coming it was foreshadowed a lot. I think thats what makes it unique too that it's a blend of genres. I also appreciate complex characters because no one is all bad or all good in real life. I know the king is based on a real king in history who was very cruel, but I'm solely speaking on the fictional character in this drama.

I can't be the only one wondering how this is gonna end tomorrow though. It just seems like it's gonna be a heavy episode. But then what happens when she gets back...better not see anything like Scarlet Heart as the ending lol She goes to museum and sees his portrait PLEASE no .... I think an ending where she's at her restaurant and he comes in as some Anton Ego food critic and he's got some pseudonym or something that relates him back to the king would be funny.

right? I mean he just seemed like a regular run of the mill in those other dramas but here he's proving to be far more skilled and technical. He was also cast last minute with like two weeks to prepare for this role, so he definitely has some innate talent too. Hopefully he gets better scripts in the future after this

I was just watching drama for fun and so far it has been...but today's episode holyyyy.....
Chaemin's acting is actually chilling. I mean he's been very good thus far, but the way he's very masterfully expressing so many emotions in the scene where he learns the truth about his mother... that's some raw talent

Honestly I think I enjoyed this a lot more than singles inferno or those other dating shows bc the people here felt a lot more real....that being said I think theres a lot they can fix because it did get a bit boring. There should've been more opportunities for people who don't like each other to mingle as well because it felt like people were constantly in the same pairs. I think other dating shows do this a bit better. I also think they should've had more fun date ideas or something that would provoke them to form connections.
I found JM and JY to be insane lmao ...like it just took a day? Hey, I'm not trying to judge maybe it's like that for some people...but for me it's not so seeing them move so quickly was like whiplash. We got them talking about marriage and everything, sleeping in the same bed and who knows what else lol
As for Jisoo and Seungli that's not lasting very long but it's sometimes more about gaining experience and learning from each other.
I found it so frustrating that most of the girls were just hung up on JM ...like if he's not reciprocating then it's just that, like go and talk to someone else? it's so aggravating omg ....and MH I honestly loved her but she was a bit of an over thinker and I get it but I also wished she would just accept a rejection and move on... if a man isn't a 100% for you, please leave bc there's someone else who will be.

Jaeyun was so cute fr I think I'd cry if someone wrote down stuff to ask, wore my favorite scent, mindful of my feelings, practiced how to say my name a certain way, or was so diligent in learning about me and all. He was awkward and had a hard time speaking his mind but I think based on what we saw was he just had to be comfortable for his personality to come out. I wish they saw that too, like the people there for the most part aside from Jisoo weren't very emotionally intelligent. Like it felt like ragebait honestly when YM was laughing about what he said to her, bc girl you know damn well ....like you see how differently the others spoke to him when they didn't really understand what he meant and were patient with him.
Also the surgeon had no prospects? I don't believe it. Where was his and the Japanese teachers screentime?

wait right? like we never saw the two other people who joined later... like literally got nothing from them..and I find it so hard to believe that the surgeon had zero prospects lol
