Well, I don't mind people disliking the plot as I wasn't a huge fan of it myself halfway through the show. I don't even care if people dislike the actors as long as they are not rude about it. I do think a lot of it is unresolved in the show and I do think saying "it sucks" is valid, but there's been a ton of very personal dislike and somehow aggression towards the show, much more than I normally see. I've seen much more toxic comment sections too, and this felt similar to them though not that extreme.

There were quite a lot of rather harsh words about Force and Book, especially in the beginning, and the criticism of the plot most of the time wasn't even criticism but people saying ugly things and how Force and Book are terrible actors. Comparing them rather often to other GMM pairs, which is kind of rude, in my opinion. I don't use twitter all that much but even that place for once felt much healthier, huh.

I liked the first half of the series and did not enjoy the plot nor the direction of the second half. It was a good start, but, in a way. I expected this to go downhill. It’s rather hard to maintain the consistency of such complex characters and writers couldn’t handle it. The storyline became unnecessarily messy, characters became inconsistent, half of the drama didn’t even match to the characters involved, and one of the biggest issues wasn’t even resolved. The second couple was pointless.

I personally love Force and Book a lot, I adore their chemistry and don’t find their intimacy stiff. Perhaps a bit awkward at times most intimate but nothing to complain about. But I do find their overall vibes together very authentic and refreshing for a BL pair. More mature and sincere in a way. Such a shame they still haven’t got that one script that would just let them shine. I think they are better than average actors in general, so I hope Only Friends will do them justice.

I didn't like Ohm and Fluke chemistry at all, on the other hand. Just felt very forced and overplayed.

This comment section has also been so toxic throughout the show, lmao. All the negativity towards Force and Book is also so uncalled for, somehow much more personal that I've ever seen. I hope to leave this comment section behind and never come back to it lol.

That is not just Thai industry and definitely not only BL. Western industry in many ways isn't much better. And you don't know what I think btw, I have never elaborated on my thoughts because I don't think this belongs in this comment section.

That scene you are probably talking about was fairly inoffensive compared to some other BL shows that have been airing recently. Sometimes I think showing intimacy is good and I think in ABAAB it was justified (and shown rather lightly), if you care to know what I think of it. Some other shows do indeed use it to attract audience and go unnecessarily over the top with it, but, as I said, the matter is not simply black and white.

True! Playing with Gun's feelings like that. I am really disappointed in what they turned Cher's character into. Especially sad considering how potential he had in the first half of show. :( I will pretend episode 11 never existed.

Maybe you shouldn't comment on the show you don't watch. You lack a lot of context and I guess you haven't even seen the scenes.

Also, any entertainment industry has its own issues, and I don't think what you are explaining here concerns Thai BL industry only. On top of that, the discussion should me much more nuanced that this. I don't think it belongs to this comment section.

More than that, I think in the beginning of the show we were made to believe that Gun finally found the one - a person who's always there no matter how hard the day is. Cher was that light in a dark tunnel for him, someone who's blunt and while maybe having issues with communication, is OPEN for that communication. I think the first 4-5 episodes or so were great at establishing that dynamic. Cher in his own way tried to approach Gun, though being confused about himself, which was nice to see. And he, from what was shown to us, was ready to stay with Gun exactly because he liked him a lot. And overall, he was portrayed as a very sensible person, just the kind who doesn't have a filter installed.

And then he just suddenly thought of himself not worthy? And just dumps Gun? And diploma is now a proof of worth? How? Gun didn't need a university graduate but a person who's going to be there for him always. Yeah, I agree with what you said. Ridiculous.

Such a pointless episode with such a weird uncharacteristic characters twist. Didn't enjoy it a single bit. We started off so well in the beginning of the show, I was kinda expecting something like this to happen but got disappointed nonetheless. Why do they always ruin Book's characters that have great potential? Sigh. Conflict for the sake of conflict I cannot appreciate, Cher making decisions without taking under consideration Gun's feelings is so strange. It happened twice already, and from a rather endearing character he somehow turned into someone so selfish and inconsiderate? This inconstancy in writing Cher's character is kind of annoying. They could've expanded on the outside conflict and fallen into a trope of a couple dealing with Gun's mother together.

Generally, starting from like episode 6 or 7, I didn't like where they were trying to take Cher's character but I was hoping last episode was the end of it. But no. What a shame.

Well, good for you. People complain all the time everywhere, they are allowed to do that here, so. Some people do hate watch, their choice. No need to bother wasting time and emotions. If you like the show, that's great.

And they are allowed complain about the show to as far as I'm concerned, every week or every day if they want. People come to A Boos a Babe page to complain there every week too, why not go and get annoyed at people like that there too, huh?

Maybe you need to calm down a notch. A person is allowed to express their opinions here, you know. And 4th episode was rather boring, alright, I've been enjoying the show so far but it did feel too draggy this time around.

Why assuming things about what other people think and why the love some pairings and some series. 🤦🏻‍♀️ It really does say more about you than about those who enjoy the series. I like Force and Book's chemistry more than any other GMM pairing and I'm not there to seem them making out. Just because you don't like them there's no need to be this aggressive about it.

Agree. It's okay to criticise, it's okay to not like the actors and it is even okay to watch the show when you are not enjoying it. But a lot of the comments from people who don't like the show sound quite offensive.

I personally don't feel the chemistry but it's not even the issue. Jaab pursuing Jen also not the main problem I have, though, I agree it doesn't look good, at least on the surface. It just lacks context and story in general. We don't know these characters well enough to see why they even like each other, I feel. When we learn that Jaab has a crush on Jen, just, so what? We saw, like, one scene with Jen where there's something more to him than just being present in the frame. Their setting is so different from Jeng and Pat, we might even not ever get the full picture simply because the series might not have time to explore it. The only thing that connects them is Jaab being Jeng's brother and also Jaab being friends with Pat and his group of friends. And Jen is just... there? IDK i might be missing pieces here but, to be honest, at this point of the show I just don't feel like I care for the side couple.

Wanted to read what people think about the drama, had to go through so much shading on ABAAB, oh boy. This is actually annoying. Asshh. These shows have nothing in common except them being office settings. I'm enjoying them both so far for completely different reasons and I don't even feel like comparing them.

Can't care less for the side couple here though, could've done without it; and since quite a bit of screen time is dedicated to it, not gonna lie, had to skip some parts. Got the main idea anyway. The main story seems promising, keeps me interested so far.

But it's never objective? I very much dislike some shows that have a hight rating and like some that have lower rating. By no means it is an indicator. And especially when the show hasn't ended. Complain maybe after it ends then?

Sigh. Just leave the rating be, it'll fix itself once the drama ends. I don't understand the obsession with ratings. People rate shows based on a lot of very subjective factors, me and you included. Why not just ignore it?

It feels like scriptwriters went places since episode 8. I was enjoying it so much, how is this so messy now for no reason. Somehow it now feels rushed, and even though I'm still enjoying the show, I do feel a bit let down. It's like an essay you write in university, when you start with high spirits and do a great job but then deadline approaches and you just shove all your possible thoughts into it without linking it coherently in the end of it. I can see where they could have taken the plot if only they'd sat down and thought about it a tad bit more. Sigh.

I still am very much not in favour of people taking their frustrations with BLs at this show (idk why this specific one became a punching bag since it's still better than your average Thai BL), but here we are, I suppose, just gives now a reason to people to go at it even more. Oh, well.

I don't think finding a volunteer psychology student or two to take a look at this script should be difficult. Just felt like they didn't care so much to make sure this part of the script holds up at all. Quite disappointing, yeah.
