What are your concerns? Are you worried, because Allen is married and therefore cannot do romantic scenes well?
I'm of the opinion that he shouldn't jeopardise his health purely for our viewing pleasure. I didn't even notice the fake abs when watching the trailer . Although I've yet to watch any Allen Ren dramas, I've only heard good things about his acting abilities and his visuals in this are amazing. I hope you don't judge the drama too quickly and at least give it a watch when it airs :)

I did watch ELOD and I liked her character in it but I was too enamoured by Donghua Dijun to focus on much else. Gao Weiguang with white hair is a feast for the eyes!

I had started following Reba a bit after TMOPB but it was only after TLB when I REALLY noticed her and her acting capabilities. I didn't watch YAMG though because I'm not really that into modern dramas so I decided to wait for her other dramas, TBW and the Legend of Anle. I'm particularly excited about the latter because I love a good historical revenge drama! If she continues picking scripts as good as these, I'm sure we'll end up breaking the MDL site once and for all!

4 months? How times flies! I've not been in that comment section for a while but I have no doubt that it is still alive and kicking (albeit not as active as before.) I agree, TLB was a very exceptional scenario but I do have high hopes for TBW because I've only heard good things about the novel and Reba's character. But alas, all we can do is wait and see.
So many good xianxia dramas are coming out and I honestly can't wait! Just finished watching ALP and it made me realise just how much I've been sleeping on this genre. I've not seen Reba in a xianxia since ELOD and seeing her with the fox tails in the trailer brought back so much nostalgia. Allen Ren also looks absolutely incredible in this. I'm kind of glad this isn't airing until 2022 as this will give me plenty of time to watch Love and Redemption. I've noticed a lot of familiar names from the TLB comment section here and I just know that this place will be brimming with insightful discussions as well! This is solely the reason why I want to watch this while it is airing so I can participate in what I hope will also be a wonderful atmosphere.
Just went on the MDL page for this drama and I noticed that the actor who plays Tianqi also appears there! Definitely going on my 'Plan to Watch' list. Thank you so much!
Just finished watching this and here are some of my thoughts:
- The visuals in this are out of this world and the OST is beyond beautiful although that is to be expected from a drama in the xianxia genre. They generally tend to excel in these two aspects.
- Xu Kai's acting was a very, very pleasant surprise and I'll definitely look out for him in the future.
- Emotional rollercoaster is a MAJOR understatement. One minute you'll be crying with laughter, the next you'll be bawling like a baby. Future viewers, always have a box of tissues at hand. This drama takes no prisoners.
- The supporting characters in this exceeded my expectations tremendously. Generally, I'm not as invested in the storylines of other characters but this was definitely an exception. Every single supporting character in this will forever have my heart.
- Xianxia dramas also tend to be quite confusing and this is not an exception. However, I learnt so much about the xianxia world through watching this drama and, in the end, everything fell into place. Please don't be put off by all the characters and the various arcs. Trust the process and go with the flow.
All in all, this was a very pleasant watch from start to finish. Although I'm more of a historical/wuxia fan, I don't think I'm ready to leave the xianxia world just yet! Feel free to recommend any good xianxias (apart from TMOPB and the Pillow Book.)
