The C-industry is really different from the rest of the world. KW wasn’t persecuted as fast because he only…
You make a fair point. The amount of influence the government has on the c-ent industry is terrifying. You're treading a fine line if you want to be a part of this world, especially if you are a liuliang celebrity with a large following like ZZH. I hope these scandals don't become a trend with other actors who star in censored BLs. First Xiao Zhan, now Zhang Zhehan. The higher you rise, the harder you fall especially if your rise was as meteoric as ZZH's.
Personally for me, it was after season 6 but season 6 was also the beginning of the end. But I agree with the comment above, avoid the spoilers at all costs and watch it until you feel that you can't enjoy it anymore.
Same with me. I could watch Joffrey's death a million times over. And all Varys vs Littlefinger scenes. I just loved the growth of all of the main characters and seeing the really evil ones die. There is truly no other show like it!
Nah. Kris Wu was cancelled on Chinese media long before he was detained. It’s important to remember that because…
Yes, this is true but I was mainly addressing how the brands were treating Kris Wu compared to ZZH rather than how the public treated each celebrity. I do agree with you when you say that Wu's Canadian citizenship meant that he was given a harder time by the media but even with Wu, his fan clubs were quite vocal in supporting him whereas with ZZH, there is only tumbleweed on his side. So the cancellation effect does seem stronger on ZZH's side although please note that this is merely what I observed on Weibo, I'm not speaking for other media platforms.
Kris Wu was under investigations and those were unconfirmed rumours at first.Note ZZH cut ties with his endorsements…
Regarding Kris Wu, even after more evidence began emerging, not all of his brands dropped him at once like what happened with ZZH; it was more of a gradual process. But did ZZH really cut those ties himself? Do you mind sharing where you got this information from because my understanding of the situation was that the brands dropped him.
Things are getting bleaker by the second. I hope and pray that it will be okay. He was wrong this time but he…
I agree with you although I do believe that ZZH still needs to be held accountable for what he has done. However, the backlash he received was definitely too much and being in the industry for as long as he has, it is a shame to see all his hard work go to waste. Although that apology letter of his is dubious and less than satisfactory.
Whilst I do not condone ZZH's actions nor do I believe that he was unaware of the significance of some of the places he went to, the way the internet wiped him off the face of this earth in such a short space of time was wayyy too much especially in comparison to Kris Wu's treatment after he was exposed. Not even the brands that endorsed Wu broke their ties with him like they did with ZZH and we can all agree that Kris' actions were significantly worse. The c-ent world grows more toxic by the day.
Many of us here fully agree with you, that a drama as good as this is not getting the attention in China that…
I don't remember much about it because it's been a while since I watched The King's Woman but I do remember how impressive the dance was. At the end of the dance, she saves the emperor from an assassination attempt which was really cool. The ending is pretty tragic and the relationship between Reba and the Emperor was toxic at best so I don't think you would have liked it very much! In summary, the drama was tragic but not heartbreaking.
I don't think those admins trusted us enough for that! They maybe thought that we wanted to maintain those high numbers and we wouldn't listen to them when they tell us to delete our comments. After that, I didn't come and pay this comment section a visit for a while because I was too upset at the damage caused. I have the utmost respect for those of you here who weathered the storm.
I agree and I hope it stays this way for many more months to come!
It just happened a minute ago. I am as surprised as you are. Been 8.6 for months. Wonder what happened.
Yeah I can see why they think that but they only have to scroll down this comment section for a minute AT LEAST to know that this isn't the case here. People have made such insightful comments here and there has been so many healthy conversations as well as hardly any fan wars like you see in other comment sections. I truly believe we deserve a prize or something for the most wholesome comment section on MDL!

That's true but it's so nice to see that even the few new people who find themselves here end up absolutely loving the drama and doing their part to promote it by rating it highly. I could be wrong but I don't think a costume drama this past year has a rating this high on MDL! There needs to be an article or something written about us here or even a ranking showing the dramas with the highest numbers of comments. This would definitely promote the drama even more!
