100% agree ... What a missed opportunity and waste of talent. Just formula and recycled tropes of old Hollywood action flicks that were all flash and zero content.
Most versatile actor ❤️My absolute favorite British actor, and at least in top three worldwide. He captured my attention and my heart when I first saw him in B.S.’s Dracula. ❤️
Part 2 is a bit better than the first. What a waste of all this excellent talent!! Ziyi and Takeshi are always, always a great joy to watch. I am no fan of Huang Xiao Ming, but I must admit he did a very good job. Da wei and Masami are also great.
Zhang and Kaneshiro are always amazing, and I will watch anything with either of these two Great actors. They made it worth while.
Overall , I was disappointed .... Well, with such an amazing director, writer and super-star cast, I was expecting something captivating. I don’t know what it was, maybe the plot execution, or screenplay, or perhaps character depth, it just was not memorable, despite the beautiful imagery, the technically excellent directing., and the wonderful all-star cast’s acting. All the ingredients are excellent, but the outcome was bland.

Every single person was involved in a triangle. Even the brothers there are 3 of them. The mom and dad are involved in a triangle. Triangle is one of the themes of the series, besides brotherhood, revenge, romance, family ties, loyalty, betrayal, business, politics, history, etc..etc...etc.. All 3 males get a love interest, only one ends happily, another ends in tragedy, and the third is ruined by the actress dropping out, but he gets over her quickly. Melodrama w/ lots of tragedy, but Excellent Writing and a unique story-line , and incredible relationships.
So sad to hear he suffered in his life. Died too young. He had lots of talent, I really liked him in Koo Gum 1988, in fact I ended up adding him to MDL because I was so impressed.
This is hard-core slap and kiss, not for everyone or just anyone!! It's good for what it is, the revenge is very good, the leads had chemistry, the story is very interesting and it was told in a captivating way, so good director. Besides the kidnapping and rape for revenge on her parents, it did not have typical lakorn tropes. I like the lead actor, he did a very good job to stay likable despite behaving like a jerk. I only wish it had subtitles because the emotions got complicated at the end. Since I watched raw, I read recaps of the entire plot and certain scenes from the forums on Asianfuse, which helped me understand key parts

He breaks her heart after giving her the daisy necklace and they were betrothed to marry. .. He left her because he became Sorio after his cousin, the original Sorio , Mario's characters, was proclaimed dead (they fake his death). He did not want to put her in danger... but he never broke off the betrothal, that's why no man dared approach her. *****************. END SPOILER **************
Their first meet is one of the cutest I have seen. They were the Fun part of part one,, compared to the quiet and subdued main couple. ...worth watching, as I said I like the villains and story better in part 1..... Hands down, part 2 is a lot more fun due to Ryu and Minami.
