Thank you, but unfortunately no Eng subs, for King of Shanghai on either of the 2 YT channels of Q1Q2 .... there are Eng subs, however, for several other dramas.
Is the main female lead a strong character here? or lots of crying?
No crying at all.... SeRyung is one of the bravest female leads, has her own principles and sticks to them .... She is among the very best heroines in Asian drama land.
You r absolutely correct !!! .... This has the feel/look of those awful BBC period productions from the 1970's…
I don't know if they were All going badly, but from what I've watched, Ch 7 had good writing before 2003 & after 2015. I also heard, and agree, that Ch5/Exact has more original plots .
Tik in Pleung Naree, MLM:Sing and even a bit in Yah Leum Chan, seems to have lost his touch. I really like him in the older lakorns.
Can you reccmomend any new slap kiss lakorns to me. I've already watched all the popular ones like swang biang…
Idk what's coming out, and I have only seen a few lakorns of last 3 yrs. Off the top of my head, these stood out: --> The Fire Series: Fai Ruk Game Rorn ---Excellent!!! she takes the revenge XD --> Roy Ruk Raeng Kaen --- Different, none are all good or all bad. --> Mafia Luerd Mungkorn : Suer --- for lead couple <3, contrived plot. --> Mafia Luerd Mungkorn : Krating --- Ken! <3 --> Piang Chai Khon Nee Mai Chai Poo Wised --- very good, she's the tough one ;) --> Kon La Kop Fah --- pretty good, interesting, psych insight! --> Ra Rerng Fai --- Ken's acting makes the typical plot worth watching. --> Morrasoom Sawat --- really good.

Not a bad idea. Everyone values different things in dramas, so judge for yourself :) Each version represents it's era. Although excellent in the 90's, for most of the 2000's Ch7 didn't seem to have good writers, until 2015; they improved much.
The 1996 version, has a charming & graceful mood. w/ wonderful lead characters and actors who did them justice. They are the best thing, along w/ their witty banter, and dead-pan sense of humor. Read @musicalveggies review, she described it's strengths very well.
The lead characters in 2007 version are very typical lakorn: he's a bit of a bully, she's spunky and stubborn ... not as interesting ...
I don't have high expectations for 2018 ver. ... Tik has lost his touch lately, and I haven't liked most of Ch 3's writing in last 4 years.
In case you are interested, quite a few of the lakorns you listed do have Eng subs...Check: lakornsworld2.blogspot (aka Jasmin Lakorns) or Alwaysmeena Most are available for "download", most of the old "streaming" links no longer work ( they were Viki's) . Also, many that were on youtube, may still be there or on Dailymotion, but now may have an incomplete playlist ... So you can still stream, and only download missing episodes. I know for certain, at least 2 or 3 from your list are on Youtube, u have to try different spellings.
Now a days, mostly for newer lakorns, most streaming videos are on Facebook, but you must join the various groups to watch.... The two sites mentioned above, have links to various subbers' blogs.
Sorry, I didn't see this before, I don't get notified if u don't reply directly to one of my comments.I really…
His father was Scottish-Thai, thus the last name. Quite a few Thai celebrities are mixed-race. Bird Thongchai is considered to be Thailand's No.1 superstar (actor/singer) and one of the most successful singers in Thailand's history, according to Wiki.

Welcome to MDL :) ...I too was immediately addicted to lakorns.
Sharerice is a very good database for lakorns, since that's all they focus on. MDL is catching up though.
I am not sure if what I described works on Tablets. I use Google Chrome, there's an icon that shows up in the URL box to translate into English any page that isn't. So, you could try using Chrome instead of Safari or whatever search engine u use.
Yes, I can easily cut and paste the Thai script (or any script) to use . I don't use the YouTube App, I go to the site from Chrome.
I hope one of these songs is what you were looking for. If you want something else, let me know, I would be happy to help you :)
@rainrumaAm I glad to have come across your comments regarding the older version of Plerng Naree (will definitely…

I really like Thai music and OSTs as well..... I don't know if there are English sites. Try looking up the drama on Sharerice, they often list the opening and closing songs, along w/ the singers' names. Otherwise, you can try googling OST of romanized titles and names, but if you google the native title of the drama and OST, then translate the page, you'll get better results, w/ Thai sites for that info. You won't always find a separate video by the singer, especially for older dramas.
I found: "Jai Fong Jai" (ใจฟ้องใจ) - by Kat Katreeya English (แคทรียา) (the lead actress) Title means "Mind Indicting Mind" i.e. "One soul blaming another", OR "Love Me" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyHB7nciqFM
If you meant Plerng Naree, this is the Official OST MV: "Pidbang" (ปิดบัง) - by Bird Thongchai McIntyre (ธงไชย แมคอินไตย์) Title means "Obscure" or Disguised or Concealed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPuLAiy-drI
If u input the singers' names in YT, their Official MVs often come up. Better if you use their native name, then translate that page.
LOL...I don't know, I never couldn't finish the synopsis, so I never watched ... Since someone did us all a huge favor and shortened the synopsis, maybe now I'll read it and give it a go.
You can download from Jasmin Lakorns:

If you find it subbed, please post the name of the site, (not direct link), for the rest of us :)
