Ikr. While I enjoyed the side characters' stories, at some point I wondered where is the plot heading to. This kind of story telling might work better for longer type drama, like asadora or at least 16eps drama, so there is still much room to develop the main characters story line even with that many side stories.

Reaching at this point, I honestly think that some side characters story line r actually redundant to the main plot. But considering this is the writer first drama, I'll cut her some slack.

yeah, this drama is very well through on the details but lacks on projecting for the big picture. we got very well portrayal of the side characters' stories but at the cost of the development of main characters. I am tired of complaining about this every ep so now I am already on the acceptance stage that the scriptwriter wont change her writing style so I just have to accept whatever they thrown at me to enjoy the story lol.

I think the reason why we can relate n understand more on the side characters is because their story n background r very well condensed in one or two eps so it easier for us to digest their character development. meanwhile for sou n tsumugi, their character developments r spread through out entire eps n mostly from other characters pov.

hopefully, they will start to focus more on the main characters' story line for the last 3 eps. sou is very complex characters so it's a bummer that they mainly treat him as an axis for other characters rather than his own person

I think for haruo case, she felt that she was being used. Like from the start haruo himself said that he volunteered for finding a job, then she found a book about how to be interpreter during the club gathering. I guess she felt that haruo n others want to learn sign language just to gain useful skill rather than to contribute to deaf community. yeah, she should at least give a chance for haruo b4 jumping on conclusion, but honestly haruo wasn't really good at explaining either. maybe if he confessed that he liked her, she might be able to see his good intention

for sou-tsumugi, I think it's clear that was because of her jealousy and at the end she correcting her mistake. I agree that she is unlikable, but I can understand where she is coming from

"I was there because I wanted to be with him. I learned sign language because I wanted to talk to him."

finally, those r statements that I want to hear from tsumugi. what irritated me before was that tsumugi seems to only act according to whatever situation she was thrown to and that's make her to be somewhat fickle minded. but from those statements, I think it's clear that tsumugi always has desire to be with sou even when she still had relationship with minato. as she wanted to be loyal gf, she might misinterpreted her desire as friendship rather than romantic before. then she finally unleashed her true feeling n desire after the barrier aka her relationship with minato was finally gone,

so instead of moving on too quickly, I think tsumugi has always been in love with sou. I don't mean that her feeling before to minato is not genuine, but her feeling to both of them r just different. as she said that minato was like her family, so she doesnt need to get over her feeling for minato to love sou.

I love that tsumugi always try to make sure that the miscommunication between her n sou resolved quickly. the back n forth conversation between tsumugi n her mom r so lovely, it's so cute how she relating her mother's story with her own.

I hope minato, mako, n hikaru follow what tsumugi mom's did. It's none of their business so they better delete those weird group chat asap. tsumugi clearly knows what she wants so let her be the one who decide what make her happy

Ikr I have said it b4 that ironically tsumugi is my least relatable character, literally cant understand whats going through her mind. this drama is too focus on side stories it kinda ignored the big picture.

for my peace of mind, I gonna assume that tsumugi always loves sou all this time but those feeling r "frozen" when she was still with minato. that's the only logical explanation at how fast she fall in love back with sou because those feeling r never gone to begin with n now those feeling r just defrosting. so tsumugi was adamant about not having a feeling for sou at the beginning was actually just to convince herself

I mean she also said that minato was like his younger brother, which was so unserious of her after saying how much he liked him in 3eps lmao. maybe this was indication that her feeling was not that deep that's why she got over it so fast.

I hope so. After done rewatching from ep1 I found tsumugi to be the least relatable character which is ironic since she is the main character. For other characters, I may dislike their action but I can understand from where they r coming from

For tsumugi, I feel like I knew nothing about her. Like all her actions r very ideal n perfect it's almost feel robotic. Like quickly accepting sou condition, immediately learning sign language, moving on so fast, resolving issue with nana. It"s as if the writer is reluctant to put a flaw on her. I feel like if tsumugi was the one who wanted to break up or at least showed somewhat torn between minato n sou the transition of her changing heart wont be this jarring.

Am I the only one who found the conversation between minato n tsumugi in ep7 funny? Like why she asked about her current love interest to his ex bf so casually, as if she didnt professed her love to him not long ago

Guys, how long do u think time has passed between ep5 (notebook scene) n ep7 (hug scene)? Was it only days, weeks or months?

I think the main reason I didnt expect tsumugi's confession to be so soon is because I lost the sense of time. Like I feel it's only a few days ago tsumugi so adamant about loving minato n didnt want to break up with him but suddenly she moved on so fast. I think it's not helping either that tsumugi's pov was not well elaborated for past few eps so I dont know her thought process. When do u guys think tsumugi started to love sou again? Was it when she knew about nana so she realised that she still has feeling for sou?

How I wish they show the development of sou-tsumugi relationship better but looking at the preview of ep8 it seems that they'll go straight to the family issue. I am glad that I finally got confirmation about tsumugi's feeling in ep7 but at the same time I feel some itch as I cant pinpoint since when it started. It's as if they just press a switch button on tsumugi to change her heart

glad that my girl tsumugi is back in action since she was kinda under utilised for few past eps. she seems to be the type that need a push to make an important decision. if not because of breaking up with minato and nana's existence she might still insist to be just friend with sou and ended up hurting everyone

love how they addressed the hurdle on sou-tsumugi relationship subtly n showed how fragile their current rs is. they both try to protect eo feeling but ended up putting a wall between them. the last scene is such a treat, I didnt expect that tsumugi will be the first one to confess. it kinda gives a parallel with the earlier confession scene in which sou pretended to not hear at first but now he really didnt hear it but still be able to understand. I am officially re-boarding sou-tsumugi ship after that hug. it's honestly so sweet, I hope sou will gain more confidence on himself n be more open up after that reassurance.

I guess the final boss will be sou's mom, she is borderline annoying now. sou and his mother's backstory is the one I am most curious of, so I hope they'll give a good reason for her behaviour n not turn her to be cliche character

I have watched some jdramas b4 so I mostly aware about their slice of life story telling style. eventhough they dont only focus on the main couple I usually still be able to grasp the main plot n the most possible ending for the MLs. but for this drama, I really dunno what the writer intend to with them. every ep is beautiful yes, but I feel less n less interested on sou-tsumugi romance. not sure if that's what the writer wanted to since it still a romance drama

Yeah, this drama put a little bit to much important to the side characters n there r too many side characters so its kinda impact the importants of the MLs. since it's impossible that the writer would change their writing style, I just gonna vibe n see where this stories will be going to since the big plot is nowhere to be seen

It's kinda pity though, ep 1-2 r still the IT eps for me. The latest eps were good but as I said it feels like different short stories compiled to one drama

Actually what tsumugi said about sou was similar with the one she said in ep1 when she fell in love with sou. In ep 1 she said sou is someone who give her the words she like with the voice she like. In ep6 she only omits the part about his voice, so I am guessing despite his condition now sou is still the same person whom she love.

Yeah, I agree that what nana's did was bad but as character I like her more because she doesnt come out as a fake person. Hurting someone because we getting hurt is kinda relatable

yes, I like how they flesh out all side characters and make them important to the story but they should not forget the core characters. sou's is the 2nd most important character but so far his condition mainly become the instigator of other people's action and we only get bit by bit about his struggle. even tsumugi's arc is kinda up to the air for the last few eps as her action lately were basically the response of what other characters did

ep 7 seems to be the end of nana's arc n possibly jsl teacher too. I am guessing the next issue to be brought is about sou and his family, the one which I am most interested to, so I am hoping finally we get more in-depth about sou's character. sou-tsumugi relationship might only be fleshed out for last ep imo. I wont be surprise if they dont end up together or maybe they do end up together in the last scene n we wont get their dating period lol.

yeah, what nana did was mean and very uncalled for but I actually can understand her action more than minato's. she wanted to fight for her love and that's why her despair in the end become sadder as she realised no matter what she did she wont get what she long for. I like nana better than minato as she is actually very upfront about her selfishness and not like minato who covered his selfishness with "kindness"

btw correction about tsumugi's answer, she said sou is someone who give her the words that she like. so basically both sou and tsumugi's answer were about what they like about each other

nah, I still think that the title dont get a proper justice especially if u read the official drama premise. dont get me wrong, I like this drama n still think this is one of best drama this year. but I feel like this drama only present the world without a sound from onlookers' perspective. so far sou's condition is mainly become the instigator of other people's action and we only get bit by bit about how he navigate his new life in silent world

I kinda wonder though why the writer decided not to make sou as main character, or maybe make tsumugi to be a deaf one. I feel like if the main character is the deaf one we can get better representation about world without sound

Eh, Sou is still the 2nd most important character according to the billing credit so it's justified if viewer want to know more about his character's depth. Especially when the series itself is titled "silent", the world where sou live in not tsumugi

Agree on this. I have said many time b4 that what dissappoint me so far about this series is that they use sou's condition mainly as love plot device. But after reaching to ep6, it seems that the writer want to flesh out all side characters first b4 the main conflict. So I gonna predict that Sou with his family problem n Sou-Tsumugi relationship issue will only be flesh out after all love triangle end

ouji suzuka seems to be more suitable for wallflower character than popular one, so he is suitable as minato imo. for the age gap, I think it wont be problem if the girl has a cute type face but haruna is such a mature beauty. even I can still see that she looks older than meguro but at least they still look compatible. I think this is why visual chemistry is such important thing for the casts. but looking at the story so far, the writer might be deliberately choose younger actor as minato so it'll be easier for viewer to accept why tsumugi sees him as "younger brother"

I dont think I'll watch Kimi no Todoke, haruma was such perfect kazehaya n ouji needs more than acting skill to top that. btw I noticed that ouji has the unfortunate hair for all of his roles, at this point I am wondering who is someone behind the scene who secretly hate him lol
