P.s. the one ep per day is gonna be pure torture (again!!!!)
I love how she is ragebaiting Chen Yi LOOL and before people are up in arms about her behaviour - here is the thing. She is only retaliating because he is trying to make her leave and pushing her away. I think it is fair for her to put up a fight against him after all of these years, especially with the way that he made her leave when all she wanted to do was stay, study in their city, and be with him.
Of course, I get Chen Yi and why he did what he did back then. But, MJ also deserves to do what she wants. She is older and experienced now - she can fight for herself and her needs/wants. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire! Also, it is pretty obvious why she chose this specific investigation/case - it was to see Chen Yi again, and be with him, while working on her case.
Additionally, we can already see him making positive changes to his life now that she is back. He is cooking again, has food in his fridge, taking care of his house, and now starting a legitimate billiards/snooker business. She really does bring out the good in him, no matter what.
He said he will always be there for her, but I think some people fail to see that Miao Jing will also always be there for him.
Does anyone else not see this as a step sibling romance? Technically, they never were step siblings bc their parents…
This is not a step-sibling romance at all!!! Their parents never married, so they are not step-siblings legally. They also don't see themselves as "siblings".
They only refer to each other as siblings for convenience - it is a much easier explanation when asked by people, than defining their overly complicated relationship. Also, when they were younger (and even as adults), they never thought of eachother as siblings, but rather family. Also, it was easier for them both to use the concept of siblings to hide their feelings for eachother when they were younger.
Is this drama second chance romance? Also when does it end? Because I will watch it after so I don't have to wait…
In a way, yes - it is a second chance romance because they did have a connection before she left/he pushed her away and now obviously it is slowly building up to be a very concrete relationship. However, they never stopped loving eachother - that is pretty obvious.
And, I think it ends on July 19-20th, but don't quote on me that haha
It sucks but yes, he did send her away (to a far away university) in the past. He pushed her far away as much as he can...to protect her in a way.
Also, in episode 11 (and 12), we are in the present time now with her back in their home but he is not happy LOL he wants her to stay gone. They are kinda of passive aggressive towards eachother - just build-up resentment and anger. So, they still haven't reconciled their relationship.

But, I am enjoying the tension that is building up ~
