I was looking for something to fill my time and usually I need romance in a drama to keep me watching. When I picked this up the 1st episode was a bit hard to get into but then then by the 3rd I couldn't stop watching it. This was soooo amazing, the cast, the production, the cgi fights, heck even the slapstick comedy was amazing. The FL was brilliant and really was in her character. I was so impressed with her acting. But the main star is really the ML who played Chulan. Everyone talking about Wang Ye (who is great don't get me wrong), but the effortless switches between emotional scenes to comedic ones was something that was so great to watch. Peng Yu definitely deserves all the praise for being so talented. The story gets quite complicated towards the end and I presume because there is a season 2 there will be more clarity for the 8 superpowers? I didn't really understand what happened and what exactly is Chulan's superpower Qi Apothesis supposed to be? Can he pull people in for help as needed? I just need to know what's it all about!
If you are looking for something to watch, this is a goofy but heartwarming action drama with an amazing cast and production!
Nice list - saw a few of my favs in this, esp Healer. It's my feel good drama to watch, probably watched it around 20 times already ( and I don't actually rewatch dramas)!
I would add Love Like the Galaxy for great characters, script and amazing cinematography & Love Between Fairy and Devil for amazing everything.
At ep 8 and struggling with this one. I loovveee SMA and Kim Young Dae is quickly becoming one of my fav MLs in kdramas. But the writing here just sucks. Everything else is good, the direction the comedy, the chemistry (though a little lukewarm) but the writing sucks. SMA character here I found to be quite similar to Home-Town Cha Cha but there because the writing was better you could warm up to her cold character. Here you just can't.
It's sad cause I realllly wanted to love this, tried going back to it 3 times but reading some of the spoilers below of the last episode it isn't worth struggling through.
I agree the the writer and CEO story line is way more interesting. I hope the leads next dramas will be better!
Enjoyed this quite a bit though I wish the writing was better. Would have been mucccchh better with a stronger script. I didn't mind the animations or sound effects (except maybe the baby sounds were used a bit wayyy too much). The acting was decent but there are times you really got annoyed with the FL (again writing). Her character has good growth however so that makes up for the annoying scenes. Overall this is a decent romcom. Like others have said the leads had good chemistry with each other.
It's an easy watch whilst you are waiting for your next drama to finish airing.
FFWed through this, not as good as MMH in my opinion. For once I would say, it needed more dramatic flair (not in terms of plot but is terms of cinematography and direction).
Completely agree with you. I just finished it and I also thought it was just ok. It had a really interesting concept…
hahaha I know MDL always has people who are all HDU think it was just ok!? But really to me - it was just ok. And I completely agree with you, Satan was super underwhelming. I think you are spot on, the writing was meh. Even whilst watching I was like didn't SK abolish statue of limitations for violent crimes (as far back as 2015) and here it's still being presented as an ongoing law. So it didn't live up to biblical stories of Satan and didn't stand up to the legal side either. Which is fine, it's a drama it doesn't need to be perfect, but it wasn't (to me) as great as it could have been.
This was...ok? I think someone mentioned below the first half was really captivating and it was really slow and downhill in the second half. I wish they had stuck to more episodic stories. I thought PSH was decent in this role but lacked in the action scenes. Her punches felt so slow for a demon. I also didn't care for the story of "let's bring them to justice via the law" because if you are following the biblical sense of justice (which this heavily was), the justice served by her in the first half was far more satisfying. Overall - an ok watch, last 2 eps could be completely cut out and wouldn't make a difference.
The acting in this is really not good. I could feel the actors missing their timing, and yet it was still a cute watch. I think the script was actually hilarious. I hope the writer gets to do more work since it was a pretty fun watch despite the lower production value.
Quite bland, not sure if it was worth the watch. Even with only 10 mins per episode I was FF so much. Whilst the…
So they make such a big deal about being separated for 4 years (rightly so) and she even says "how many more 4 years do you think we have left in us" - and in the end she chooses to disappear herself for who knows how long? What a waste of time.
Quite bland, not sure if it was worth the watch. Even with only 10 mins per episode I was FF so much. Whilst the leads had chemistry it was barely used. The ending was completely pointless...
This drama doesn't make sense. Even though the FL is really good the ML doesn't seem to fit for me, he looks like he should be her uncle or something. Anyway Dropped.
There's no romance if that's what you are looking for and it's unnecessarily dark (like the writers decided to exaggerate everything pointlessly) and triggering for SA. Also by ep 10 I was bored. Dropped.
Can someone explain to me, why/when do they fall for each other? It seems like 1 episode she's trying to seduce him and he's all I'm not someone you can play with and the next episode (for no understandable reason) they are both head over heels for each other? I mean I'm all for suspension of belief for plot devices but, this is just not even making any sense....
Yesss love my ZLS! I hope it's a happy ending drama. I have been waiting for her return to costume drama. I hope it's similar to New Life Begins / A dream of Splendor.

First half is definitely better than the second. I skipped to the end from ep 24 onwards based on the comments below. A meh watch but watchable.
