His works are not just a film but also a beautiful journey. He will make you walk, slowly, peacefully then suddenly....BAM!! Truck-kun will hit you just like that infamous trope in anime. The damage will take months to heal.
First time I saw him I thought he is just poormans shota sometani but as I've watched more of his works he grow on me as an actor. He is really talented and enjoyable to watch.
To me this just looks like an entertaining B movie with great acting in it. I mean with its over the top bullying makes it funny at times as to how unbelievable it is. The reason why these people became bully was also never been touched, it's like they present you a world full of bad people as in all of them. No one in this movie is likable especially the adults, they are all piece of trash individuals.
This is a great and satisfying revenge movie though like after the anger I've built up towards those bulllies it's so satisfying seeing them getting killed one by one with perhaps one of the most grotesque way possible I've seen in a movie. So I guess the movie is successful for making me this invested and maybe I should just ignore it's flaws and focus on the theme they wanted to convey.
I think even Suzu gave a better perfomance than Ayase and Ishihara in 2018
Maybe not ayase but I see why her performance in anone better than ishihara in unnatural. There is a very high chance she will be better than both of them though. These two actress never challenge themselves I guess because they have an image to protect. Suzu on the other hand has worked with directors such as Hirokazu koreeda, takashi miike and lee sang il, and soon with shunji iwai. She can still be one of the most marketable actress in japan and doing art house/festival type of movies at the same time.
I tell you if chugakusei wins it, quality-wise it deserves it, it's nothing like these past years where overrated shows wins. Some question the credibility of this poll with the absence of Shoplifters for best movie but compared to last year when yamapi wins best actor and supporting actor at the same time this is a HUGE level up. To each their own of course but I still value quality over popularity. As much as I love chugakusei nikki, I don't agree Kasumi arimura and okada kenshi winning best actress and best actor, respectively. I only think yoshida yu deserves best supp actress and okada as best newcomer. As for ayase haruka and satomi ishihara not being nominated, unpopular opinion but I didn't feel bad about it. Don't get me wrong they are good actresses but I also think they are both overrated. Do you think they stand a chance against takeuchi yuko in my innocent days or sakura ando in shoplifters. LOL
Theres still a lot underrated dramas though like Anone, Toumei na Yurikago, Sachi-iro no One Room or even the less popular and in my opinion the best mystery drama this year iari: mienai kao. But you can always expect that in a popularity poll, it's just that the results won't be as atrocious as these past few years.
I'm just sad that Burning is falling behind, I don't expect it to win at all though because it is not popular enough compared to mainsteream movies. Let see in the coming months when it get nominated in oscars best foreign film category. I expect a lot will jump onto the Burning bandwagon as soon as it gets nominated.
EP2.Aikawa Kazuki - "I rarely get along with other people. But I get along with the person I wanted to the most,…
I also like his take on aesop's turtle and the rabbit fable, love his analogy. He is like a turtle, he just proceeds forwards and enjoy whatever infront of him and the girl is like a rabbit being succesful but has a lot of worries, she also look down on others.
The moral of the story is be a turtle don't compare yourself to other people just live in your own damn world. This philosophy is very much applicable in this age of social media where people always check other peoples life. I freaking love Japanese drama.
Definitely and it should win too but let's be honest not all users here are movie buff. Just look at the korean…
I still don't feel most users here will enjoy shoplifters and like I said look at burning it even has famous actors in it but still fall behind compared to more mainstream korean films.
I see this drama getting popular with male audience, the male lead is just good acting like a real loser and the monologue in his head is just relatable. I mean his assumptions and what are these girls thinking towards him. Also, I have to say the director is a real man of culture, those leg shots lol.
As much as I want chugakusei nikki to win, I wouldn't mind if todome no kiss wins the best drama. It's a great drama unlike winners these past years. The year 2018 has been great for Jdrama fans, we are blessed with so many great dramas this year.
My favorite this year is probably Chugakusei Nikki but I think Ossan's love would win if you ask any Japanese people based on how big impact that drama when it was airing.
