Final thoughts, this was obviously a hot mess. Not much wrong with the story, it was catchy, but the script was kinda lacking, which can't really be blamed on the editing. If I were somewhat objective, this would be at most 2.5*. Most importantly, the exquisite OST carried it all the way. I would've maybe dropped this if not for CZY and LMZ, so unless you're digging the leads not much a recommendation honestly. If they ever release the full cut, I'll recommend it to everyone and their nan.

Kinda cringe, Mo Wan in the vanguard when she can't even fight, shown in every possible scene before that. “Qian Mian seize them", jumps in and instantly dies, haha, I can't. Got a great idea guys, let a random soldier backstab Ye Hong Yi for maximum dramatic effect, wait it was better in my head... Well of course, they died too easily, cuz we need another plot twist.

I don't know what's going on anymore, all characters dying left and right in a single episode. Also such a scuffed rebellion, they had so much time and this "plan" is what they came up with. Already tired seeing the preview and Mo Wan marrying someone else again, sigh.

I'm normally not into modern cdramas, but this is so unbelievably good. The ending OST hits so hard after every final Mei Bao scene. Can't believe this and the light on series aren't as popular as romcoms internationally.

They forgot to cut out Jin Yi's confrontation with Jun Qing, haha. That scene literally made no sense, since they cut everything out with him and Mo Wan. Also what a cheap way to get rid of Consort Shu, expected a bit more from her.

I like how this has literally nothing to do with the drama. But iQIYI is notorious for making random loosely connected movies. Or this might have been part of the prologue that was cut out... jk, haha.

Wut, what is this random plot twist outta nowhere. The Emperor isn't even legitimate.. alright then. Is it still according to the novel, for those who read it? Also they just skipped the whole part of Consort Shu, like where she at now. And did I miss something, since when is Han Jin Yi a City Lord with troops. They really slaughtered his scenes. And what's the deal with the Southlands, Princess Han Yue & Ting Ting were in Chu like moments ago, now they're waging war again, okay.

They posted some bts vids on their weibo page with Mo Wan and Jin Yi. So apparently he liked Mo Wan as well and he said he wants to marry Mo Wan after she remembers everything (which was the part when they first met and she still had amnesia). That part was cut out obviously, don't even know how it would come to that between them, lmao.
